We hired Lina as our wedding planner about a year before our wedding and worked with her closely to plan our wedding. We found her randomly on Instagram while looking for a wedding planner and are so lucky that we did! She was the best money we spent on our wedding hands down. We were both working full-time and living in a different city than where we were getting married. We were so lucky to have Lina in LA, as she was able to find us vendors in the area and set up visits for us. She is everything you want in a planner: organized, thoughtful, respectful, friendly, and open to sharing her feedback but lets you make the final decisions. We truly never saw her get stressed or flustered in all of our time working together. We had a 250 person guest count and a million other complicated logistics to keep organized, and Lina handled it all with expert ease. She helped us with our budget and set up a a task tracker, and was incredibly responsive via email whenever we needed her. Her amazing coordinator Heather was with me (the bride) all day and was also incredible to work with. Our actual wedding day went off without a hitch. We were perfectly on time the entire day and nothing bad happened. Our guests also can't stop talking about how amazing our wedding was and how well it was organized. We know this was not because of luck. We know this was 100% because of Lina and her team, and the amazing vendors she recommended to us. Lina was actually sick on our wedding weekend which we felt so bad about, and she still showed up as if nothing was wrong and didn't let it affect our big day. We are so appreciative to her for that. We were having what I thought was a small-ish wedding, about 55 people, and I didn't think I needed a wedding planner/co-oordinator. How hard could it be? A couple weeks into the planning the overwhelm hit me. The sheer number of details and things I didn't know was staggering. My fiance and I talked about it and decided we needed some help. When I found Lina I was so relieved. She was calming, organized, supportive and extremely knowledable about all things wedding-related. A real pro. She asked questions and details about things that were important but I never would have seen coming. She always followed up with what she said she would do when she said she would do it. I knew we could count on her. She gave me gentle nudges when I was behind on something and needed to make a decision. She totally kept me on track and in the loop every step of the way. On the actual wedding day I got to see a real professional in action. She was organized, calm, graceful in a high pressure environment. She made sure Mark and I felt comfortable and had everything we needed. She gave us helpful hints about how to stand during the ceremony, which way to face (do we face each other or the offiant?), tips about if the ring is a little tight during the ceremony, how to finagle the cake-cutting. Lina made my vision come true. My daughter got married in Cabo in January and I wanted to host a reception for all our family and friends that could not join us in Mexico. She is super patient and has many ideas when you're stumped on how to do something. She even sewed together our fabric wedding aisle runner! I had the pleasure of working with Lina at A Stunning Affair to plan my September 2012 wedding, and she was, in a word, incredible. Throughout our 18-month engagement/wedding planning process, my (now) husband and I would marvel at something Lina had done for us by turning to each other and saying, "best decision we ever made." Not just during the planning, but all through the wedding day, back at the hotel after the reception, the next morning on the way to the airport, on the beaches of Mexico, and back home again. I could go on for days, but here are some highlights: * from our very first consultation, I felt completely comfortable with Lina--some of the other planners we met with made me feel nervous about asking for what I wanted, or telling them when I didn't like something. Our chemistry with Lina was amazing right off the bat; not only did she instantly put us at ease with her friendly, easygoing demeanor, she always listened to our ideas, requests and concerns without making us feel like we were asking for the moon, and she always assured us that we'd get it exactly right on the big day. I truly felt like we were working with a trusted friend. * she has an amazing wealth of experience and eye for detail--after working on so many weddings, Lina knows what works, what doesn't, and how to incorporate just about any element into your big day, be it traditional or wacky. (We had some of both.) She also brings that wealth of knowledge to the other vendors; during a consultation meeting with our caterer, the mister and I asked a couple of questions and figured we were done. Oh my goodness I can't say enough good things about Lina. She is AMAZING! I knew after our first meeting when she started taking notes even before I booked her, she was so attentive to every detail starting from the introduction meeting. She will remember things you told her in passing, that I didn't even remember! A wedding planner is your first and most important vendor, you cannot go wrong with Lina. Once I booked her, I breathed a huge sigh of relief and somehow things just started falling into place. Every random idea and question I had for Lina over the last 10 months (and there were a lot), she answered quickly and clearly. My advice: Stop reading this review and hire her immediately!! I will start by saying that I am a wedding and event planner myself, so I had very high expectations. Relinquishing the planning of my wedding even if it was partial was very difficult for me, but I knew it was necessary if I wanted to enjoy my journey to the altar. We found Lina Wallace of a Stunning Affair through a referral from a friend getting married. Note this friend is also a successful event producer with a roster of high profile events so if she was happy with her experience, I knew we would be as well! Lina offers a range of services from full service coordination, budget planning and event styling to day of (really month of coordination). Everyone's needs are very different for a coordinator based on your own personal strengths, weaknesses and of course budget. Our needs were very specific-we had a vision and had no problem keeping organized but needed some support along the way with questions, vendor referrals and ultimately someone to take over so we could really show up as bride and groom and be emotionally present and calm for our big day. Lina and her staff were amazing. She took over communication with all vendors a month out and made sure she was aware of how to execute all the details to make our day so perfect. We were referred to Lina by another wedding planner who wasn't available on our wedding date. Lina met us at a Starbucks a few blocks from our home, armed with an iPad and manila folder. She started up a slide show of her past events on the iPad and asked us how we met. Then she smoothly transitioned into running down a very detailed list of questions about our event. Our wedding was only two months away and we were feeling overwhelmed with all the work left to do. We needed to find a caterer and rent/buy tablecloths and table settings. We were married on July 30, 2011 and I was dead-set on doing everything myself. THANK GOD, I decided to bring in Lina who ultimately made sure everything was perfect in the end. Lina allowed me to still feel "in charge" of everything, yet eliminated my nighttime panic attacks about all the little details. She was my right hand woman throughout the whole planning process and was a life saver when it came to coordinating all the vendors in advance and on the day of. On the actual wedding day, Lina and her team of helpers were incredible. Everything flowed smoothly and I felt like I could relax and just enjoy the wedding rather than worry about tracking all the background activities that were supposed to be happening at any given second. There are so many details that go into planning a wedding and no online checklist covers them all. Lina is very knowledgeable, and organized. She helped us throughout the entire planning process. She gave us a "to do" list each month, and prioritized the items so we knew what HAD to be done, and what could be pushed out if we did not have enough time that month. She kept us on track without ever being pushy. Lina gave us great suggestions on design and fun ideas to make our wedding unique. All the vendors she recommended were wonderful too. Lina was absolutely amazing every step of the way to help us plan a phenomenal wedding. She is incredibly patient and understanding and although I'm sure we overloaded her with emails and pleas for help, she never missed a beat, stayed very organized, and was ready to help in every way. She is very familiar with numerous wedding vendors in the LA area and helped us pick the best of the best, ranging from a bakery in Long Beach to a caterer in North Hollywood. She even had contacts for us to arrange an ice-bar! My husband and I work long hours and she was very flexible with us and accommodating our late night and weekend meetings. While Lina's capabilities and contacts are 2 of her top strengths, I believe it is her personality that really wins you over! After contacting 10 wedding coordinators and meeting with 4, my mom and I knew right away that Lina would be the one to make the wedding a magical/stunning event! And that it was, my wedding felt like a fairytale to me, thanks to the wonderful guidance from Lina. What drew me to her most,was the fact that she listened and took the time to understand exactly what I wanted esthetically, as well as the intimate feeling I wanted to create with a guest count of 275 at saddlerock ranch. She showed me personal details that I would have never thought of, and links to multiple vendors on etsy so I could find the perfect "here comes the bride " sign. Ohh and her timeline, checklist, and referral list is worth gold! She answered all of my texts and emails probably at the same hour they were sent and calmed me whenever I started to panic over anything. Lina handles every situation with a smile and warmth in her voice. We had a situation where a cousin felt that my bridal party line up was not correctly set up. Instead of bringing me into the conversation, she took in everything the cousin had to say, and kindly answered that every wedding is different and that this was the manner in which the bride had chosen. This right away calmed the meddling cousin! Thank you Lina. She also helped me book 4 days before the wedding new violinists, since the ones I booked without her ended being unavailable! Everybody she referred me to was spot on. She was mindful of their aesthetic and selected the ones that would help me achieve my perfect wedding! She even delivered food on the day of the wedding to make sure everything was running smoothly on my end. Lina is incredible. She is very experienced in wedding planning and brought to our attention so many details that we did not think of on our own. Prior to our wedding, she met with us several times and each meeting was beyond productive. She fashioned timelines for us, gave us templates to work off of, got in touch with vendors for random things we ended up needing (like outdoor twinkly lights, neon signs and high chairs), checked in with each of our vendors, advised us on appropriate etiquette for things like making escort cards, proofread our invitations... it's endless the amount of things Lina did for us prior to the wedding. Even more impressive was her ability to pull off everything we wanted on the day of. It was probably the hottest day of the year in LA, but Lina brought a trustworthy pair of assistants with her and they were spectacular. I gave Lina 6 boxes of decorations the day before and she unpacked everything flawlessly. The entire place looked amazing. At the end of the night, she meticulously repacked everything into my aunt's car. While she and one of her assistants handled the entire venue and guests, she had another assistant helping me and my bridal party get ready. Everything went according to plan and I have Lina and her team to thank. Lina is truly a gem. I've heard countless stories from friends where they've told me that their day-of coordinator didn't do a whole lot for them. Lina is the opposite. She was absolutely invaluable to me and my now-husband. If you are looking for a wedding planner or day-of coordinator, Lina is the best resource you can hire. My wedding was absolutely perfect, due in large part to the team at A Stunning Affair. My husband and I have extremely busy schedules and had little time to devote to planning our wedding, so having Lina from A Stunning Affair helped make the process much easier. We no longer had to communicate as frequently with so many different vendors, and she would ask us questions about things we hadn't even thought about. She is very thorough. Also, when we had a million random questions, we always got a quick, professional response with excellent recommendations, advice and guidance. While we only met in person three times before the rehearsal dinner and big day, we were in constant communication. She would capture all of our scattered requests and send updated timelines to us and the vendors. On the actual day, I couldn't have asked for more. I had a "personal assistant" from A Stunning Affair who knew what I needed before I needed it. She would bring me water, fix my hair, reapply lipstick and hold my flowers. In a word, Lina is AMAZING! She went above and beyond anything I had ever imagined. When I was researching a planner for our wedding and I come across her website, I had a gut feeling she was something special. Then after our initial consultation via the phone, I told my (now) husband we didn't need to look any further. For me, finding the perfect wedding planner was one of the most important steps of the wedding planning process. Hands down, hiring Lina was the second best decision of the entire process (of course the first was marrying my husband) :-). Lina is extremely diligent in her work. She pays attention to details, listens to your every wish and dream and does everything in her power to make it happen (all while staying in your budget). She's personable yet professional, organized, attentive, and quick to respond to any questions or concerns you may have. It was really important for me to have someone who understood everything I wanted but also to offer suggestions or advice to make things go as smoothly and beautifully as possible. She brought things to my attention that I never would of thought of, offered creative advice on the best way to do things, and remembered every request and idea I mentioned, even when I had forgotten! The day of our wedding went off without a hitch! According to one of my bridesmaids, it was the calmest wedding day ever (and she's been in 7 weddings). All we had to do was sit back and relax until it was time to walk down the aisle. This almost had me worried because you always hear of how crazy it is the day of, and all the things that need to be done, but not when you have Lina on your side! On the day of our wedding, I didn't lift a finger or worry about a thing, my only job was to revel in the moment. We got married a little over a year ago and our guests are still talking about how wonderful it was, some say it was the best wedding they've ever been to.  I could go on and on about everything Lina did and how amazing she and her team were. But the bottom line is, you should just hire her because in my opinion, you won't find anyone better. She's like the fairy godmother of weddings!!
