We are getting our house ready to put on the market and thought it would be wise to have the carpets cleaned by professionals. When I first made my appointment, I was told they would be there at 2:00. The day before I got a text saying it would be between 2:00 and 4:00. The day of right before 4:00 I got a call from Tom, the owner saying they were behind and would be there at after 5:00. Tom then told me I needed to vacuum my house, which I had not been told on any previous conversations with the company. It created quite a bit of stress in adjusting my schedule beyond what I had to do already in them being 3.5 hours late. One they got here the technicians were apologetic for being so late (I wasn't upset, things happen) and seemed very intent on getting the job done the right way. A few hours into the cleaning a technician told me there had been a small flood due to the faucet they connected to in the front yard. I was confused, we didn't have an operational faucet in our front yard. We do have one we don't use that doesn't have a handle to turn it on. The technician told me not to worry, they could fix the flood, and he would show me once they sucked up the water. Again, I wasn't upset, I was told there was a small flood and they could clean it. I then got a call from Tom to talk about the situation. He first and foremost established this was nobody's fault, which he repeated over and over throughout the conversation. It was extremely important for him to establish that his crew was not to blame and I, as the homeowner, was equally responsible because I should have known they would connect to a faucet (I didn't) and as a homeowner I'm responsible to know if my faucet is leaky. I told him if I had ANY idea they were connecting to a faucet I would have pointed them to the usable one right around the corner behind our gate, and didn't even realize the one in the front of the house was operating. Tom then told me his crew told him the carpet was likely unsalvageable, but they would send a crew to try to save it and he would split the labor with me 50/50. At this point I got agitated, and he reminded me that we were equally liable. He then proceeded to tell me it was late in the evening and his crew had families to get home to. At this point I was incensed. They showed up 3.5 hours late and I was being told it was late and they wanted to get home to their families. If they didn't want to do an evening job they shouldn't have shown up at 5:30, they should have rescheduled. Tom also told me they weren't a restoration company and I may need to contact one to throughly take care of the damage. At this point I went to my basement very upset to find Toms crew sucking the water out of my carpet and pad. They were shocked to hear what Tom had told me. The carpet wasn't ruined, they had the tools to fix it, and were happy to do so without charging me extra. They were very helpful and professional. I will say, they did mention to me that they had seen cases like this go to court and the home owner always loses (and proactively said so with me making no mention of a lawsuit), and like Tom repeated the blame was equal. I find both of those comments to be manipulative and frustrating that their subtle messages of it not being their fault seemed to be the most important thing for them to communicate to me. Also, they didn't bring any fans or anything to help the extra wet carpet dry. My basement stunk horribly until my neighbor brought over industrial fans to help dry everything. In the end, my carpets and furniture looked good, and the crew did a good job in cleaning the water up the hence the 2 star rating instead of 1. I do feel like a few of my pet stains are still more visible than I expected after paying $100 extra to get them out, so that service may be over promising. However, despite their many claims otherwise, I do feel they were responsible for connecting to a faucet that should have at least been questioned if it were functioning due to its missing handle. Had they just asked I would have told them not to use it and the flood would have never happened. read more

back in May of this year, my sister, who had just tragically lost her son the previous month, needed to have her carpet cleaned before family gathering at her house and searched around the Internet for a reputable carpet cleaner and decided on this company. what a bad choice that was, long story short, her carpet was essentially ruined from the water that remained for at least 2 days. The smell was horrendous and when I stepped in and cleaned the carpet with a carpet cleaner I got very muddy water coming through the intake reservoir, showing that the carpet was truly not clean. she also decided to have them clean her car as well and there again, was a mistake, the smell that lingered was beyond disgusting.She had the new car smell before that only had a few stains in the carpet but afterwards it had worse stains. because she was still very upset about her sons passing she had me contact Tom about her dissatisfaction but he insisted on talking to her and finally she gave in and did talk to him but it didn't go so well. tom was calling late at night and would not agree to a refund in any amount. he kept saying he wanted to come back and do the work himself but my sister wisely refused. finally she decided to write a bad review on KSL, where she had originally seen the good reviews for him, and it didn't take long before he saw that and contacted her to offer a partial refund if she took it off. So apparently that is his MO. I decided to review him here after all these months because it's disgusting that he manipulates reviews to paint a better picture of his dysfunctional business. This guy is a class act ! Hired this guy based on his reviews from other websites. After the fact, I think he is writing his own reviews. We came to an agreement on cost for his services that I wanted for my home. We spent about ten minutes on the phone preparing for his services at my house. When he realized that I was not there he immediately started confusing my girlfriend and was up-selling every product he had. During my phone call with him, he was very professional and courteous. When he was here, he literally had his employee, who was obviously new to the industry, go about everything with little to no guidance from "THE OWNER" because he was on the phone making personal calls the whole time. I have received better customer service from McDonalds during a lunch rush. After his up sell attempt failed he immediately got back onto his phone. He failed to bring out the offered equipment that he promised so the carpets would dry faster, it has been 16 hours and my carpets are still not dry, even in the rooms that he left the windows open in. Here is what to expect from this company. 1. Sweet talker.- he can sell himself, just cant deliver. 2. Carpets are clean, still wet the next afternoon. 3. Has no customer service once the sale is made and money collected. 4. He is RUDE. 5. His employee was courteous he was not. 6. He was frustrated when he didn't get his way for an up sale. Once again RUDE! 7. Don't ask him about any favors or common courtesy's, he failed to bring the equipment that was requested to help dry the carpets. 8. If YOU make the appointment, YOU had better be there. He will knowingly breach and disregard the agreement. 9. He only takes CASH or CHECK! Will not do business with a traceable form of income. I got these guys from Home Advisor. I needed 4,500 square feet of carpet and tile cleaned and sealed. I also needed some of the carpet stretched. They did the entire job and I couldn't be happier with the result. I thought the carpet needed to be replaced, but they gave me years of additional use at a fraction of the cost. I recently went to HomeAdvisor.com to look for a company to clean our air ducts. There were three companies that were recommended; we made our decision, set up an appointment, and moved on. Apparently HomeAdvisor emailed our info to the other two companies (the ones that we decided not to go with). One of them was A Spotless Carpet Cleaning. The owner called us three times, leaving voicemails that said that he lived close to us and would love to do our ducts "right now". We weren't interested, so we never returned his calls. A couple of hours later, HIS TRUCK PULLED UP IN FRONT OF OUR HOUSE. I don't care who you are, you DON'T do that! I mean, how unprofessional can you be? Despite us obviously being home, we didn't answer the door. HE CONTINUED TO KNOCK ON OUR DOOR FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. I wanted to give our business to an independent instead of a large company like Coit or Sears. Big mistake. Do not use this company for air duct cleaning! They do not have the right equipment, or the kind of equipment Coit has. The owner is not professional, though his employee was. I am surprised by other reviews on this site. Tom and Chandler were wonderful. They came into a home that a film crew of 50 people had occupied for a week. Tom is very passionate about carpet cleaning and took the time to explain what he was doing. They were able to get out stains in high traffic areas, grease, paint and smashed fruit snacks.
