So I was interested to visit the new 'costume shop' in the Railroad District that opened this summer to see what they had in stock. Renaissance Rose offers a variety of themed costumes you can rent or purchase. They have packaged costumes similar to what you'll find around Halloween at other retailers, but also some more interesting pieces. At this point their website seems to be pretty basic, so hopefully that will expand in the future. After visiting both stores, I think the main location still has the broadest selection of items for purchase. Especially wigs, hosiery and accessories. But, if you are looking for a more unique rental, then the costume shop is worth a visit. I was most interested in the hair pieces near the back of the shop.

My wife was in need of this type of service, so I turned to Yelp to find a place. Noticing the five star reviews, I called and spoke to Misch (a very friendly lady). She told me to come on in. When my wife and I arrived, Misch was with another customer. We were happy to wait as we didn't want to interrupt them, but Misch suggested we go through the curtains and take a seat. Soon she came in and took care of the issue.. In a few minutes we were ready to go. While there we noticed a large selection of high end wigs and various related products. After reading all the great reviews, I decided to come here for my first ever bra fitting. I first…read morewalked in around 10:30 am, but recently they have had so many bra fitting appointments, it's best to call ahead to make an appointment. It didn't matter to me since I had some errands to attend to, so I made an appointment later that day. I arrive early for my appointment and there's a small waiting area in the store where you can wait. Tony helped my with my bra fitting and she was wonderful! The first thing she did was take three measurements: one for the band and one for each breast. With the measurements, she calculated my size, but it doesn't stop there. According to my measurments, I was a 36G. Just from looking at me, she could tell I wasn't a G cup, so we went a cup size up from what I was wearing. (The bra I was wearing fit me well which is why she referenced that size - 36DD) After trying a few sizes, we finally got a bra that fit me well and was giving me support. My new size was a 38DDD. She helped me find bras that fit, but also took into consideration my request for having something that wouldn't show when I wore a tank top. I ended up purchasing three bras, two that were $60 and one that was a European brand for $48. Since it's hard to find certain sizes in stores that actually fit, spending the money on bras that actually fit and would last me a long time was a no brainer. They are reasonably priced and if you look at it from cost per wear, it's well worth it! I used to have a drawer full of bras that just don't quite fit, so having those three were a great buy. I highly recommend this place! The staff is friendly and accommodating, the selection is great and the prices are reasonable.

The staff is always very helpful as well as nice. They answer any questions very knowledgeably. They have a small selection of body jewelry, but the items I've bought have never turned green!
