I truly can't say enough amazing things about Ralph and Ramsey from Discoboxx!!…read more One of our top priorities for our wedding was the DJ, and I spent a lot of time trying to find a DJ that I trusted to create the right vibe because we weren't looking for a typical "wedding DJ". I can now confidently say I have absolutely no regrets about picking Discoboxx! Our DJ was been one of the most talked about things after our wedding. So many people have told us how much fun they had dancing, asked me how I was able to find this DJ, and told us they've never seen so many stay out on the dance floor. Ralph was also so amazing to work with in general. He was always very responsive (...something I definitely learned isn't the case with all wedding vendors, haha), and he always seemed so excited to be part of our day. His energy was overall just a positive addition to our wedding! P.S. Get the lights!!! They really amped up the vibe.

Jim at Pulse Entertainment was a big part of this coordination. His web site has great features that let us educate Jim about our goals and allowed him to keep our wedding on track. Wedding Time Line This area of his site allowed us to coordinate the wedding and define when certain events happened. (Meal Service, Formal Dances, Announcements, etc) This was very valuable when coordinating with the caterer. It also allowed for quick adjustments to the time line as unexpected things came up. Wedding Traditional 20 This area of his site allowed us to address a lot of the typical wedding things. What songs should he play for formal dances? What did we want him to specifically say during announcements and introductions? Did we want a bouquet or garter toss? It helped him to understand what we wanted and more importantly what we did not. Music Request. This section allows you categorize songs based on preference. You can select Must Play, Would Like Played, and Do Not Play. Jim was very good at playing most of the songs we requested, but there were a couple songs we did not hear that we wish we had. Next to each song you can make a note to Jim and I wish we had identified a few songs as special in the Notes area. In all fairness, we did tell Jim to use his best judgment. We wanted to give him the freedom to do his job and react to the vibe coming from the crowd. The guests loved the music and we got a lot of compliments on the DJ. I am sure all DJ's have fancy websites now, but Jim was very thought when talking about our wedding and met with us twice to discuss the details. If you are interviewing DJ's you know that there are some big egos out there. On multiple occasions Jim said "I want this to be what you want. This is your day and I just want to help make it as nice as possible." He had zero ego, was extremely helpful, and was a great help in keeping the wedding on track and providing us with great music. Lastly, Jim was a good value. More often than not you find 2 types of DJ's. 1.) the big head/ego guy that charges thousands of dollars and insists you call him DJ Ed or DJ Bob and 2.) the kid on craigslist that will DJ your wedding for $200 using his iPod. Jim is neither of these. Good price, reliable, and very professional. I would highly recommend Jim and Pulse Entertainment to anyone looking a good wedding DJ. LT

Brooks was amazing!…read more I threw my dad an 80th birthday party at Proximity Hotel in Greensboro. The hotel recommended a company but it was like pulling teeth to get them to call me back. Once they called me back it took days to get an estimate. In the meantime I found Triangle Sound Service. Brooks called me back quickly like within 20-30 min. He asked me a few questions about the event, the DJ equipment and desired set up and I had an estimate 10 min later. The day of the event, he confirmed again, showed up at the time agreed. He set up the table & equipment and reviewed functioning with my DJ. He returned at the agreed pick up time as well. Everything went perfectly.

I want any brides who are planning for a wedding after this COVID-19 pandemic to pay special…read moreattention to reviews. It is during this time that you find the true character of these small businesses. We were set to get married on May 2, 2020. Postponing our wedding was just not in our cards. We decided to move forward with an intimate wedding ceremony in the backyard of our home instead with immediate family only. At first, Story & Rhythm were okay with everything, they even sent us an email first to say they would support us with whatever. We did not change anything with the contract and still wanted to use the photography and DJ package we had previously requested. That's when emails were no longer being answered within 48 hours, but instead 4-5 days. The last email we received, it stated that they would be changing things around while this pandemic was ongoing: only Tosha and Brian would be allowed to use the microphone, Tosha would not go into my home and stated she would do everything outside, even getting ready photos and getting into the dress, and my guests could not make any on the spot music requests during our day. She also asked if we would have preventative measures such as masks and hand sanitizers. I responded that we of course would have preventative measures but that we would just forgo the DJ at that time - because my guests or even us could not use the microphone or make music requests? These are all normal practices that could be sanitized and still be done 6ft apart. This was mid April at this point and we are trying to replan our day and they were not responding to our emails anymore. So I decided to call on April 15, 2020. They did not answer at first but later called me back. Tosha went around the bush that she "didn't know," "I've been really praying about it," "I just don't know," "how are things going at work?" "have you guys been exposed?" These are all normal questions, but the fact that she could not say that she did not want to any longer be a part of our day and do our photography services was disheartening. Tosha first said she would just come for 2 hours and take the important shots, I was actually fine with that because all I wanted was a few photos of our day. We had already paid more than half of our fees to them early, so they had $1500 from us. She said the $1500 you paid would be fine. WHAT? We were originally going to pay $2610 for an engagement session, 8 hours of photography and 5 hours of DJ TOGETHER, now she wants to take $1500 for just an engagement session shoot and 2 hours of services? How does that add up to $1500? Then she went back to "well I just don't know" and "ahh, I don't know." She made ME say that "if you feel uncomfortable, we understand and are okay if you don't want to do it" meaning that WE "cancelled" when in fact she was just baiting us to pull the trigger to cancel so they could keep our deposit. She immediately went to well the $500 is a retainer and per the contract is nonrefundable and the engagement session is $300 so we will keep $800 and refund you guys $700. How is that fair? THIS is what this pandemic has come to, and I want to let everyone know that they are keeping $800 of our hard earned money and leaving us 2 weeks before our special day without a photographer. They even made us sign a cancellation contract before they would send back the $700 refund to cover themselves. They also cut off the reviews on their facebook after my honest post! BEWARE!

Melissa was our day of coordinator and she did a wonderful job. She was incredibly organized, thorough, kind, efficient, and prepared. I've heard nightmares about wedding coordinators/planners so I wasn't sure what to expect. She exceeded my expectations. She continuously went above and beyond to make our wedding the best it could be. It was extremely obvious her work ethic did not come from fighting for a positive review or a high tip. She works hard because that is who she is. She is someone who is going to do her absolute best when she commits to a project. I felt so accommodated, seen and loved throughout the whole process. I called her late at night and forgot some things day of, and that didn't phase her at all. She just wanted to me have the best day. Patrick and his team did our videography.
