I've been coming here since I moved to the neighborhood over 5yrs ago and many of the barbers are great. My original barber at this shop moved to another state and my other, recently went on maternity leave. So you can say, I've had consistent haircuts by at least 3 barbers and I'll keep coming back. I tried all sorts of other shops in SJ in the past and they were either expensive, inconsistent or didn't know how to fade AND cut long straight hair with scissors. I have thick black Asian hair and A+ Barber know how to fade the sides and also cut the hair on top. A+ Barber is accustomed to cutting all sorts of hair textures and styles. More of a barber shop but I've seen them cut and dye women's hair as well. Everyone is experienced with cutting children's hair too. Language is not an issue but you might raise your eyebrow at the politeness. They're actually really nice!

The people working there aren't responsible and the job they are doing is very unprofessional. I made an appointment for my son yesterday for today 12 o'clock and with a guy. So today my son went there and instead of getting his haircut by this guy I made an appointment with, another woman did his haircut and very very badly. My sons neck is all red, cut and bloody. I called to this salon and instead of apologizing they were rude. That's my sons first and last visit there. I wouldn't recommend you to go and get your haircut done there by these peo

Fade way too high.

Service is good. Place is clean. Reasonable price. The barbers are either burned out, pick who they spend time on, or can't really cut hair. Just look at this pic. The fade was so high it looks like a Mohawk, which makes it grow out uneven.

I've tried almost every barbershop in Downtown San Jose, and IMO Concept Barbershop is the best…read morespot here. I get a haircut there around every 4-6 weeks, and recommend it to anybody that asks me where to get a haircut in Downtown. Environment Professional, spacious, clean, comfortable. There are two leather couches, a coat hanger, and even a coffee machine there (not instant coffee - real, fresh ground coffee). Service JB is my guy at Concept, and he is not only skilled but he actively maintains me as a client. He documents each cut, familiarized himself with my hair type, and can consistently replicate previous cuts or make adjustments depending on what I'm going for. Usually I just go in with a vague request like "Just a clean up, maybe some shaping on the beard" and he always delivers with something that looks good. I'm satisfied with his work after every appointment.

You know those IG reels where they feature dramatic before and after transformations of men who…read morelook unkempt with overgrown hair + scraggly beard, and in sad shape? This was our cousin. 4 months ago he was ready to get his maintenance cut and we had a genius proposition. We asked him if he would be willing to do one of these before and after reels. It would be our job to take care of finding a barber. All it would take was for him to grow his hair out so that we could turn him into the next IG star. (Yes we aim high). He couldn't refuse. Fast forward to the big day. I found Concept on IG and out of the lineup of Barbers, I chose Kann, because sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith and trust that it will all work out. I'd never been to Concept before and from the moment I stepped inside, I already loved the lighting and cleanliness of the shop. The exposed brick wall and high ceilings made the shop look much larger than it is. We introduced ourselves and told Kann about our idea of filming our cousin for his before and after transformation. Kann was the sweetest guy and was completely open to us from the start. We immediately liked him and he didn't mind that there were 2 of us there hanging out for the haircut filming and taking pics the entire time. Kann was extremely patient, skilled and meticulous as a barber. He used both scissors + clippers and gave my cousin what he wanted. We ended up going overtime and even though there was another client after us, Kann made sure to take his time to be as thorough as possible. Definitely recommending Kann and Concept to anyone looking for a good Barber.

Unreliable scheduling system and barbers. Unskilled barbers…read more My first experience here and won't be coming back. Made an appointment for Harold to come in after work. I get a text shortly asking to come in on a different day or even earlier. I explained i had work which is why i took the last appointment. We compromised on a day earlier, same last block. I get a call the afternoon of my appointment. Harold explains he had to leave for the day and passed me off to a different barber. I was hesitant but i gave it a chance. Came in 10 minutes earlier. Was helped right away by the secondary barber. Showed him multiple pictures of my usual haircut. It's very simple, fade on the side and trim on top, even out the front. I felt like he didn't really look or ask for clarification. Instead he template matched me to cuts he probably regularly does. Guys who get haircuts regularly know when it feels wrong. And I could tell he went too high on the sides just by feeling. And when i saw it in the mirror my heart sank. Just ruined my head in 10 minutes. I could tell he wasn't comfortable with scissors. He actually lost grip on his shaver and knicked me on the neck with it. I do not recommend this place. And I get a haircut literally every single week where I'm from and they lost a potential regular. I don't think I'll come back here after going thru the stress of working with Harold trying to reschedule around HIM with my own personal schedule already. Very unprofessional. On top of that, you pre pay and get charged BEFORE coming in and as I was about to leave the guy who did my haircut asked me to pay AGAIN. So now I got double charged in the meantime while I wait for them to refund my original booking. These guys need to get it together and make the customer experience and journey have less friction and back and forth. Very disappointed. Don't book with Harold he likes to leave early. Adrian tried his best, but he's got a lot of work to do. 8/19: Edit cuz the owner or barber wants to back track. But Harold cornered me the afternoon of my appointment while I was at work to tell me he would be leaving at 3 that day and said he was gonna leave me to another barber. So NO NORMAN, he did not specify that I would get passed off up until a few hours before my rescheduled appointment and at that point I had enough of this back and forth and was trying to trust in the staff to take care of me but I did not get a skilled enough barber to do a simple mid high fade.
