DO NOT CONTACT THIS PLACE. They do not actually help. You can Google facilities for yourself. Once they have your contact information they will HARASS you. Even after I told them our family member passed away they continue to call.

A Place for Mom advisors are an excellent resource for information on assisted living options.

Husky, a smaller and caring agency, recently came into a very challenging situation with a frail very elderly couple, and despite their resistance to accepting outside care, Husky has completely won them over. Unlike some other care agencies that i've worked with,Husky not only comes in and provides a free consult with a care manager, they CONTINUE to have the managers monitor and communicate with the family and the healthcare team. Care managers Jennifer and Kris have been stellar in this way, and have found the most amazing caregiver, Michael, who visits them 2x weekly, each for 4 hours. They do it all, from driving the couple to errands and MD appts, to an outing at the lake, to meal prep, to light housekeeping, to personal care for our hospice patient. They are not the cheapest agency out there, but there is a real reason for this: quality caregivers, and a hands-on collaborative approach, My agency has no affiliation or relationship with Husky or any other agency, but i did feel it would be helpful for those who are seeking good safe care to give it a go. :)

We had an easy move-in and live very comfortably here. There are staff dedicated to moves. The move-in fee was big, but we sold our house, so not a problem. If you move or pass away, a large % of the fee is refunded. We get the equivalent of a big meal a day per person (or 2 small ones) included in our monthly fee, as well as fairly thorough housekeeping every 2 weeks. I don't own a vacumn. They gave us new carpet and I chose to have wood floors for part. On move in, you choose things like wall paint colors, etc. The dining rooms include a casual one where you can pick up meals or choose baked goods etc. I love the staff here. I hire someone to help me above and beyond, but could comfortably manage without if needed. I love to be surrounded by books and have built- in shelves. Maybe you will be lucky and move into a place like mine where the previous occupant did so. We have an electric fireplace. You can move in your furniture at your own expense or find helpful relatives. Parking is an extra fee, tiny if you compare it to city charges. We have a big swimming pool, a smaller warjacuzzi and hot tub, a " Restore "  of items donated or left behind, where I like to shop. It was created by and staffed with wonderful resident volunteers. Lots of programs of all kinds, classes like a writing class I'm fond of. Many other services help, like packages delivered to your apt door. During Covid, they delivered our food. I think you get a certain number of such deliveries a year/ free. They are NOT paying me for this review.

I was contracted for 6 month volunteer service. 3 months into the volunteer contract I had to leave due to safety issues with a male bully. The supervisor seemed indifferent. The bully in question was a big guy built massively but it wasn't his size he was aggressive! No social skills, manners Nothing. Unsure why he was there . All the clients personal back stories are confidential & knowing what I know about how Seattle coddles anti social types I feel that he was protected. Very unfair to me. I also feel that BB is somewhat racially biased towards women! Hey all I was trying to do is be productive, help others, get outside of myself b/c people I was struggling VERY BAD with a mother who was in a real bad marriage, and some other issues I don't feel comfortable sharing on here but I will say it involved people who didn't seem to understand boundaries. Was the adult day center a homeless center? At the time that I volunteered I didn't know what that mean't I just wanted to help people. I was quite young the year I volunteered even though I was an adult. But that place just didn't care about you. No positive communication just nothing. This was only for the adult day center & NOT the hospice which were housed in 2 separate areas of the bldg. Sure hope that they've improved. I did not feel comfortable volunteering at this adult day center. Poorly run & operated.

Do NOT become homeless and have to live with the bullshit this place has to offer. Staff is very…read moregood at making decisions that are arbitrary and prejudicial to anyone who has an opinion on the situation they find themselves thrust into. The only saving grace is that the food (which is also questionable at times), and the nursing staff, who are pretty awesome. Your caseworker, depending on who you're assigned to, are extremely hit or miss, with some of them refusing to even acknowledge the fact that you exist. The bathrooms are filthy, with some of them having shit stains on the walls from when I first arrived here. Although it shouldn't, the type of care varies from person to person, with situational ethics powering the decision making. That is to say, THERE ARE NO ACROSS THE BOARD RULES!!! Whites get treated differently from Blacks. Gays different from straights. Men versus women, trans from cisgender, and so on. The security is negligible considering the amount of different identities that inhabit this space, meaning the security follows the aforementioned arbitrary nature of rule enforcement. One guard in particular has a deep rooted and obvious hatred towards the gays who reside here, yet demands that they "respect" him. Also, this is a "low barrier" shelter. Meaning that drug use is pretty rampant here, with people getting high in the bathroom or elsewhere on the property. The bathrooms are where you can also hear people having sex at any time of day. Because of this, staff members are instructed to conduct "bathroom checks", an intrusive process that involves the monitoring of people's personal and hygienic habits that has caused more problems than solutions. Overall, the type of care you can expect to receive here varies wildly, and it would be well advised not to engage.

Then the medicine doctor would come in and it was a specialist issue. IDK what a medicine doctor is, but I'm pretty sure that's just called a doctor. Next the ER accommodations were dismal. There were only curtains between the beds, no walls or privacy offered at all. For a patient that presented with stroke-like symptoms I'd have expected slightly better accommodations. Once we were checked in to the hospital proper we were put in a room with another patient, and this patient was grunting and moaning the entire time we were there. There was again no privacy to speak of, and I was concerned for the room-mate because they seemed in such distress. With regards to my room-mate, their care was sporadic, at best. At one point they had asked to use the restroom, and obviously needed help. It was an hour and a half before someone came to assist, and by that time the patient had soiled themself. Another time they requested water, and it was two hours before anyone came to provide it to them. When the care team was there and re-made their bed the nurses got called away for an emergency and forgot to give the patient back their button. Of course, we helped where we could. But the nursing staff was extremely overrun with patients and was not able to provide an adequate standard of care to anyone, regardless of the severity of their injuries. No one should have to experience what we and those we observed went through during such a delicate time of our lives. Finally, parking. We had to pay for parking. $140 for 3 days, and that was WITH A DISCOUNT! That's absolutely disgusting. Insurance is already giving a ton of money to the hospital for our care, and it's not like we have a choice as to where we can park. Charging patients and their caregivers for parking is so far beyond what I'd consider a minimal level of care that I can't even begin to adequately express my disgust. If you have an option, route your ambulance to a different facility. Do not come here willingly.
