My grandmother recently passed away and I wanted to write about where she spent her last couple of…read moreyears. When my parents and my grandmother moved to the Ocala area about ten years ago my grandmother was already starting to show some signs of short term memory loss and dementia, but she insisted on living in her own home and not with my parents. The retirement community they moved into was great and it's the kind of community where everyone seems to look after each other. When my grandmother got to the point where it just wasn't possible for her to take care of herself any more they sold her house and my Mom found her a place called the Bridge at Ocala. It was a difficult decision, and a very expensive one, but the employees at The Bridge cared for my grandmother until her last breath. When I say they cared for her, I don't mean they just took care of her, I mean they cared, they really did. When she was still able to get around they brought her into the community rooms and sometimes even forced her to have some fun (she'd fight it, but then tell my Mom afterwards that she was really glad she went). When over the past year or so she had gotten so weak and ill they would get her up into her wheelchair and bring her outside to sit with her or at least so my parents could sit with her. The place wasn't perfect, and there were times when there were miscommunications and even issues with things like her meals and the cleanliness of the place, but they were few and far between. The last time I visited my grandmother it took her quite some time to figure out who I was, but it was a nice visit for me...even if she didn't remember it the next day. My grandmother passed away yesterday in the early morning, in her sleep, and I'm happy she was at The Bridge with people around her who cared for her and about her. I can't thank you all enough for everything you did with my grandmother over the past couple years and for my mother who just simply couldn't be there all the time...I don't know what she would have done without you.

He was set up to get PT and OT when he was at this home. Ms Hen Munoz stopped all that because it was easier to keep my brother in a bed and control him. He was not allowed visitors unless they called ahead. He was left in the bed for 24 hrs to watch tv and be fed when she had time. His fluid intake, when I came after 5 weeks of being there, because I could see the deterioration in my brother and several friends had been turned away. He was allowed only 12-16 ounces of water per day. My brother may be weak but he knew what was happening to him. She didn't take him to the library or anywhere when she told me directly that she would. So unless your Vet or loved one is nearly dead already don't send them here.

Not one single employee seems to know their job. Let alone follow through with written orders. They need to fire all present and hire new staff. Completely different people. Not one employee I have encountered knows how to do their job and follow orders to care for the patients in their care. I am in shock that these people receive a pay check for what they do NOT do. I have to call everyday to ask why orders are not addressed. Never an answer but always a lot of excuses. Hawthorn Rehab. If you love your family member BE AWARE. Look elsewhere for true care. Our family had a very concerning experience at this facility…read more My grandmother was admitted following a hospital discharge after a fall in which she hit her head and injured her shoulder. Despite this, neither issue was evaluated or addressed for more than a week, and only after our family repeatedly raised concerns with staff. She required a two-person assist for toileting, yet staff frequently refused to help her, leaving her in soiled briefs. When assistance was provided, the treatment was often lacking in compassion and professionalism. The facility was fully aware that our family holds power of attorney and health care surrogate authority and that we planned to relocate her closer to home. Despite this, care-plan meetings were held without our involvement. Additionally, attempts were made to pressure her into signing documents and transitioning into their assisted living program, which we found deeply inappropriate. Also, we needed a copy of her ID to take to the post office to close her PO box, and the Social services director Joyce treated us like we were criminals. Finally, while she was placed in a skilled nursing unit and billed as such, the level of skilled care expected did not appear to be consistently provided. Based on our experience, I would strongly encourage families to be vigilant, ask detailed questions, and closely monitor the care of their loved ones if considering this facility, and please find somewhere else to take them.

They have a vibrant program for MC and a slew of mature volunteers who keep the residents engaged. What I like: the food is delicious and it is bright and airy. The rooms have built in storage....so much I didn't have to even bring a dresser if I didn't want to. The bathroom has ample storage too. The deep cleaning occurs weekly and is done so well-even the corners are reached. The Executive Director is approachable and responsive. The staff are helpful and responsive too. I can access staff quickly and directly via phone. Cameras (no audio) are allowed and that has given me peace of mind to see my mom's routines and her interactions with the staff. I am pleased that TS wants so much transparency. The questions I have had are answered quickly and a win/win appears to be the goal. I have had experience with 3 different facilities and this is head and shoulders above the other 2. I highly recommend Trinity Springs. btw, a friend moved his wife in and he is/was very happy with the facility and the staff. When she passed, he invited her caregivers to her service. It is a nice place. The sales lady has been with TS since it opened about 6 years ago. No pressure and quick to answer or get answers to my questions.

The entire operation and everyone involved has been professional and focused on providing the best care possible. Dad experienced some medical problems (completely unrelated to the care provided by Visiting Angels) after a year into the VAO care program which resulted in changes to his living arrangements. VAO was understanding, cooperative, flexible, helpful and supportive in making adjustments to Dad's care program. It has now been nearly 18-months since VAO began providing services. We have never had a problem with billings, services, care-givers, or compliance with the scope of services provided by VAO and the outstanding staff. Dad has been cared for by one person for the overwhelming majority of time - but there has been a limited number of days when other caregivers were required to fill-in (due to illness, doctor visits, family emergencies, etc) for Dad's primary caregiver. The "substitute" caregivers were each well informed of Dad's condition/personality before arriving and each provided good, friendly, quality support that was welcomed by Dad. If you're ever in need of a reliable home health care service to provide care, companionship, light housekeeping services, assisting with meal preparation and clean-up, personal hygiene and grooming support, and a compassionate friend to help care for a loved one, I would certainly strongly recommend VAO. I have the pleasure of speaking with and dealing with Veronica, she jumped into play and organized a game plan to assist with our parents. Veronica is on top of her game, she right away called our Mom's Doctor to find out her medications and Doctor appointments. Veronica set her up with a Caregiver right away and started on Wednesday. Like most senior living residences, this one is under staffed in both administration and care units, but everyone seems ok waiting for things to get done when there are smiles and hugs and good humor. Rosecastle does not have a theater or a tavern or a swimming pool or ballroom. It has a lobby and activity room, and a nice dining area for assisted living patients or memory care if their families are there to take them. The food is not glamorous, but it is nutritious and plentiful, and is better than my Mom cooked when she was cooking for herself. So thanks, Rosecastle, for giving Mom a safe place to live with people around that really care for her, and where I am welcomed when I come and visit.

Great entertainment for the residents and guests. In the past several months, we have had a few friends become residences at Grand Living and it's certainly the place I will plan to go when it's my time to relax and enjoy the later Golden Years. Everyone at Grand Living is wonderful. The facility is impeccable and very impressive in so many ways. Always neat, clean, well staffed, and a smile on everyone's face! Residents and staff! The facility…read morewas adequate, extremely understaffed, the nurses are overworked & not very understanding when it comes to their patients being scared, not understanding what is happening and not feeling well. Their main job is passing out the medication, no real interaction with my mom. The CNA's get the tough jobs, cleaning up the patient's, getting their meals, the food is horrible and changing the beds and showering them. Because they are too busy, many times they fall short. A couple of them should not even be CNA's as they are mean and rough. I was not impressed and relieved I got her out of there before she passed away. I blame the Administrator and the Director of Nursing. My advise is check out other facilities and make your presence known.
