I have a 4 day work conference in October and needed to do a dry run with my 11 month old pittie. After ***passing*** his 30 minute temperament test (a requirement before they will board your baby), I left him for that weekend while I was home, our first time apart. I was neurotic, he was having a blast. The team sent me videos of him playing the next morning and my heart was warm again. A huge weight lifted off my shoulders. Most importantly, I trust these people. You can't put a price on that. All the staff there are exceptional and care about every one of their pups. Their facility is well laid out, organized and clean. The play yard is also conducive to safety and playtime for my pup. I'll be doing a day care package so he gets socialized. They do it all. Super place and I'm glad I found it.

Did my homework on boarders and this one came highly recommended. They require a temperament test (which is good!), and my dog passed with flying colors. When I picked him up, he was happy, tired, and -- best of all -- didn't stink... which isn't always the case after being around a bunch of dogs for a few nights! Very, very reasonable prices. This place will be my go-to, and I'll probably get my dog groomed here next time he needs a cut too!

He was wild when we got him from the previous owners. He refused to deal with me and my wife. He loved my two Grandsons (who live with us) and stayed in the room with them. We had to go out of town, and we boarded Gizmo with them. That's when I found out that Rebecca ran a training program. It was a 30-day session. While we missed him greatly, we kept in touch thru texts and pics. On September 20, Rebecca brought Gizmo home to us. I would have never believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. He had settled down. He came to us. She went over the different commands he understood, and we practiced. Soon she left to go home. He went outside with me on a leash. No pulling. No wildness. A completely different dog! Two weeks in and he comes when called. He jumps up on the chair with us. He keeps me company as I work daily. He loves belly and back scratches. This week, I decided to try going outside with him with no leash! FANTASTIC! Does his business then wants to play! This is the dog I wanted when we chose Gizmo. I cannot thank Southern Camp Canine and Rebecca Starling enough! Just a superb job of training. He is a joy to have in the family. David W. Hepner, Sr.

He is afraid of the blowers (dryers) and doesn't like air in his face. I asked for clean toes, shorten the hair on his legs and not to cut his Chrysanthemum face, but to trim his eyebrows. Melissa called me on the same day to tell me she didn't have time to cut his coat, that I could reschedule my appointment to bring him back in. She never mentioned anything had happened at the shop, she had plenty of opportunity to tell me as we talked about his coat not needing to get trimmed. That I had requested a bath, shaping up. While there he sustained head trauma to the point of the blood vessels in his eyes pooping and bleeding. After two hours at the vet's office, eye tests and personality tests, they said he will be okay; without long term damage to his eyes. The Vet gave us eye drops to reduce the redness and pain medicine for the swelling. He is traumatized to his people, and anyone that is not his people. The Vet said she had never seen Sclera (subconjunctival hemorrhage) so bad and that the only way to get it was through head trauma. My vet said choking on a grooming leash, or being in a death type grip that "choked" could cause Sclera. She also said "blunt force trauma" to the head would be the other way this could happen. When I did talk to Melissa an employee here on Thursday 11/17, she said my puppy had a "stressful time getting his nails clipped". The manager is supposed to be Bonnie, who spoke to my mom and was supposed to call back and share how this could have happened. To this day the company refuses to call me back to tell me how this could have happened. All About Cats and Dogs has numerous cameras all around their building, inside and out. When I asked for the footage from 11/15 my puppy's bath/clipping appointment and my standards footage they said the cameras do not work. Other people on social media have said they stopped going to All About Cats and Dogs because of similar issues. One of the Groomers there was ousted from Paradise Pets for cruelty to animals.

***Warning***Warning***Warning*** Do not take your puppies…read morethere if you love them! We made the terrible mistake of bringing our little, 4 month, 2.5 lb, Maltese pup to Barking Lot Boutique last week, one of the worst businesses we've ever dealt with. Lying, unprofessionalism, and a total lack of care for the well-being of pets. When we made our appointment, we asked for a particular groomer who had been recommended by an acquaintance, we clearly specified that it was our puppy's first visit to the groomer and he only needed to be introduced to the experience, equipment, and maybe, maybe have some minor grooming done if possible. This same exact information was shared again on three other occasions before our appointment: when we called to confirm, when we wrote it down on the paperwork, and one last time at their door before they took our little puppy inside. The appointment started at 8, hours passed and we had no update on our pup. However, 5 hours later, we received a text message stating that our pup hat bitten one of the groomers (plural) and that they were going to try once more. At that moment we knew something was happening. A puppy should never wait five hours to be seen, and even the most gentle, friendly and obedient pet will react to mistreatment and neglect. On our way to their business, we called to get an update. Surprisingly, they told us they were done and we could pick him up. Once at their door, a man who would later identify (via phone) as the owner, came out holding our puppy, whom was trembling in fear and in apparent shock. "Oh, everyone loved this little pup," he said. Followed by "but we didn't do anything to HER." "She bit one of the groomers," "is this HER first time at the groomer?" At that point I knew he had no clue about our dog. Wrong gender, and asking the question I never wanted to hear (something they should've known). Once I grabbed my pup, I noticed he felt a bit wet, and was a little smelly, the owner then said, "well, we just gave him a bath, since he didn't let us do anything." My wife asked why was he given a bath if this was not even requested? No response. We decided to leave since our pup was terrified and in distress. In the car, we noticed he was missing his collar, so I returned to ask for it immediately. Took a few minutes for them to find it while making fun of how little it was. Once on my hand, I noticed that the collar had been tighten all the way, something that simply broke my heart. At home, we called again to gather more information and still no clear answer was given. The owner claimed that our pup had been seen by someone in training, ending with "What do you want me to say?, and proceeded to be dismissive. The nerve, the lack of integrity, and the shameless lying. At home we noticed that our pup had not even been rinsed thoroughly, and in fact, had part of his paws trimmed, and some nails clipped. Evidence that totally contradicted what the owner had claimed when he lied right to our face. So, our puppy was not attended by the groomer we requested, was not given the care he needed this being his first introductory visit, was given a bath when not requested, had only part of his paws done, was not rinsed properly, was called the wrong gender, was left for 5 hours unattended with no potty break, food, treats, surrounded by larger dogs and was completely abandoned and abused. It took a few days for us to re-adjust our pups behavior after the terrifying, dangerous experience. But now he is fortunately ok, playful, gentle, and being the obedient, lovely pup he always is. Finally groomed by experts and far away from the Barking Lot Boutique. As customers, we were also abused, lied to, and treated with no dignity and respect, so it is our duty to warn other pet owners about this place in order to prevent traumatic experiences that jeopardize the safety and well-being of our beloved friends, whom in many cases cannot defend themselves.
