I've had back issues that since I was a teenage and have gone to many physical therapists with mixed results. Since discovering Caring Hands and Alisa I have been a faithful customer. I would recommend her to anyone.

Plus, I was happy to have gotten an appointment the same morning that I called for one. When I arrived, I first filled out an intake form in a comfortable seating area lit by natural light and talked to her about why I was there. She listened carefully, asked what I felt were the right questions, and gave helpful and empathetic input. The (heated) massage table was in a space to the side with ambient lighting. I got a relaxation massage, and it was wonderful; she knew when to go more lightly and when to give more pressure. And as a plus, I loved the lotion she used too; it wasn't as oily as others are and had a really soothing (but not overpowering) scent. Sometimes massage therapists are too clinical or too talkative or don't seem to have much intuition about things. Sometimes the background music is bleh or there is just something indistinct about the experience that disappoints me. But none of these things were true about Alisa or about my experience at the Caring Hands studio. If I wasn't moving away I think I would make regular appointments with her! I also love the idea of getting reiki or a massage-reiki combo that's available at Caring Hands through another practitioner.

This holiday weekend I took some time off to hang out with family and travel...which means stopping…read moreinto crystal and metaphysical shops along the way for out of town souvenirs While in Massachusetts, I stumbled across Circles of Wisdom and loved every moment we spent in that shop. Our cashier was Jae (that's what the receipt says) and she was a fellow wire wrapping sister of the spiritual realm like us, super sweet young lady and her energy vibe was amazing! Crystals and more crystals everywhere you looked in that shop. Don't let it's size fool you, it's got a lot of stuff nicely spaced out and set up inside. There are a few rooms in the back which I'm guessing are for classes and what not, which makes this location even better in site classes! The merchandise is everything from crystals, to books, to religious items, to cards and cleansing pieces. Please stop in if you're ever out that way or check them out online at their website www.circlesofwisdom.com

It's lies and nonsense posing as health care. When I went to check out the place with my wife,…read morethey were selling "healing crystals" as a valid treatment for physical ailments. Their location in a medical arts building is clearly an indication of their intention to commit fraud. Not one of its "treatments" has been ever proven to be beneficial using scientifically valid verifiable peer reviewed evidence. These shills and hucksters should be shut down for the heath risk they pose to the community

Walking into this massage studio takes you away from the world outside. It's like walking into a…read morewarm and sacred space. When I moved to MA from NJ I tried many places and thought I'd never find a person to compare to the massage therapist I had back home. On my first visit I was suffering with a migraine caused by the stress and tension in my neck and shoulders. As Marty worked on me, he explained how the muscles in one area affect the muscles in the area I was having trouble with. I appreciated that because I've asked other massage therapists in the past and it seemed as though they just didn't know. He has studied anatomy and can explain everything about body mechanics to you. When my lower back acts up, his massage has helped way more than when I was going to physical therapy. After about a year of getting massages here, I can walk in and say, "please fix me!" and he does. He truly wants to help people feel better. It's always a personal experience and his personality is genuine. Marty is the absolute BEST! I have recommended him to many people. If your considering trying him you absolutely should!

Back in Aug 2020 when I was 60 yrs old, while sitting at my desk, I bent over to pick up a…read morepaperclip off the floor and I felt my back pop. I thought that I just pulled a muscle. I went immediately to my chiropractor down the street to see if he could fix it. I ended up getting an MRI on my back. I had herniated the disc and had a couple of bulged discs. I went to a back surgeon that wanted to operate on my back, with no guarantees that it would be fixed. I knew I didn't want surgery or cortisone shots. I've heard too many bad things about them. I told my chiropractor what was going on and he thought that maybe he could help me, but it would take a very long time. In the meantime, Marty Turner owner of the Sacred Tree Massage and Reiki in Newburyport, who I had briefly met through some mutual friends, heard what happened and reached out to me. I knew nothing about massage therapy but was willing to try. Between my chiropractor and Marty Turner, I was pretty much back to normal in 6 months. I own a horse farm, so I'm very active mucking stalls, carrying 5-gallon jugs of water and moving 40 lbs. of hay daily. In the fall I'm raking up about 30 yrds of leaves. I also love to hike and ride in the side x side ATVs. I'm now 65 and still doing all of these things and more. I do go regularly once a month for a 1/2 hr massage to loosen up the muscles. I tried in the beginning to stop going monthly, but found out quickly that I needed to go. If Marty was able to fix my back with the help of the chiropractor, then I suggest that people give him a chance. He is very kind, honest, professional and makes you feel at ease. He will listen intently as to what's going on and will do his best to resolve the issues. Keep in mind, things don't always get fixed with just one visit. It could take several for the muscles to relax and release.
