I've been through a fair share of weddings and even helped out on a few, never had to deal with a…read moreDJ this bad, besides my own wedding. The DJ is a better photographer than and wedding DJ. This DJ should only stick to doing small events and photography. The DJ timeline took the whole night. After all the speeches, special dances, the bouquet and garter toss, it was 9:30pm, which only gave guest roughly an hour and a half to dance. The event started at 4pm and ended at 11pm. (Due to venue hours we had to be out at midnight) I don't know what was in the contract between the DJ and the bride but its common sense and the DJ is still getting paid for whatever hours were in the contract. The DJ would not coroporate with wedding coordinator. Got the names wrong druing line up for the Grand March but the wedding party quickly adjusted and lined up for her. Was asked and told to do speeches during appetizers, she waited till after dinner to do everything, speeches, special dances, bouquet and garter toss. Which took up alot of dance time for guest. There was a little mishap with the sand ceremony at the church so the couple moved the sand ceremony part to the reception.(which worked out great) But then DJ the basically outted the coordinator in front of all the guest! You don't do that, the guest did not need to know about anything that happens behind the scene. Then during the sand ceremony the mic cuts out on the officiant. The DJ didn't announce cake cutting when the coordinator asked her to and when she did announce the cake cutting, it was already over. Then again towards the end of the night when cake was being served, no announcement until after guest realized cake was being served. As the MOH and BM were giving their speeches the mic feedback twice. Then being the professional she claims to be, took it upon herself to give a speech to the newlyweds after everyone else gave their speeches. Just because you personally know the couple doesn't give you a right to do that. Alot of the guest where confused to why she was giving a speech too. That's something you do off to the side, you were at the wedding to DJ not a guest. Made a inappropriate comment during the father daughter dance and both mother son dances, that made guest uncomfortable and awkward. For example "give your dad a big old kiss" The DJ tried to be energetic and entertaining but failed, some people have that ability and some people don't. The generation dance was way to long. It took 4 songs to get through the generation dance. Druing the dance a few couple just ended up standing there on the floor because dancing in a circle gets tiring. Then a few of the guest watching were getting bored after the second song. The DJ was asked and told by three people, after the current song ends, you need to stop playing music. Since we had to be out of the bulidng at midnight, it was 11:15. She didn't stop till 11:45 and by the time we got done cleaning, she was just then packing up her equipment, she didn't leave till 12:09am. (Which wasn't a lot of time wasted but still) Around 10:55pm one of the bridesmaid told the DJ after the current song is over time to stop the music. Then the DJ told the bridemaid, well I am doing to do what the bride wants me to do. Two things wrong with that, one, why would you play music, when we had to be out at midnight and majority of the guest are gone. Tables were flipped, linen was folded, chairs were moved and trash was taken out. Second, just because the bride hired this DJ, doesn't give the DJ justice to keep playing, she had a coordinator and help for a reason, so she didn't have to deal with this kind of stuff. So the bridesmaid explained to the bride what was going on and what we still had to do, so she could tell the DJ basically shut it down so we could get the rest of the guest out and continue with clean up (rolling tables across the room) The DJ tells the bride the she is gonna play till 11:30pm, so then we told the coordinator and the bartender over heard us and the bartender took it up pond herself to tell the DJ to stop and that was. I am not saying she is horrible but could use a lot of improvements.

I can't say enough great things about this company!…read more I recently booked Black a label Djs as a DJ and Karaoke DJ for a private party in my home on the East side of Milwaukee. About a week before the event, he took time out of his busy schedule to come to our home and survey the layout. He suggested speaker and lighting placement, and let us pick the color of our lighting. The best part of the meeting: he let us know that he would be able to hookup our existing flat screen TV to use for the lyrics, instead of a tiny monitor. Fabulous! Not only did he show up exactly on time, he coordinated with me about the exact time I wanted him to arrive, as to not interfere with the caterers, florists and cake decorators. He had plenty of gear, but once it was set up, it took up barely any space at all! He also put on some mood music while we were getting ready, and it really fired us up! We had asked for several songs to be played at certain times as the evening progressed. Not only was he able to accommodate our odd playlist, but he also integrated karaoke throughout the evening whenever someone wanted to sing...quite seamlessly too! Guests were also able to request songs and were rewarded with a smile from Evan every time. There was never a quiet moment. The karaoke lyrics on my wall-mounted TV were awesome - everyone was able to see the words and sing along! Another highlight of the evening was when I saw a guest ask how the equipment worked. Before my eyes, Evan transformed my guest into a full-blown DJ -mixing music with headphones and all!!! It was a riot! The smiles on both the DJ's and my guest's faces were absolutely priceless. Definitely a highlight of the evening! The dance floor was hopping all night long, the guests were happy, the volume was perfect, and there was never any feedback or awkward silences. I have, and will continue to recommend Black Label Djs to anyone who is looking to have a DJ at their event. I have full confidence that he can pull off any event - whether it is a corporate party, a wedding, a private party, a tailgate...he was fabulous!!

Craig had a great read of the room. I made a request during dancing and within seconds Craig was able to create a mash-up. Weeks before the wedding, we meet virtually two different times to go over my vision, finalize the reception timeline, and announcements to make. He called to check in with me about a week before the wedding and asked really thoughtful questions, things I hadn't even considered. And then, the night of... He was an adorable emcee, very enthusiastic and great with keeping us on track. He actually started earlier than we requested when the ceremony turned out to be shorter than expected. And once it was time to boogie, he kept the dance floor packed for four solid hours. He never went for the cliche, current pop sensation of the moment, he picked a lot of classics that had everyone on their feet. And he continued to check in with me, even making sure that one slightly inappropriate song request was okay with me. We had people dancing all the way up until the very last song. PLEASE hire this man. You won't regret it. Thanks, Craig!!!!

Short version: M2R's representatives arrived late to our wedding, and as such, rushed their setup…read morefor the ceremony, and did not have time to test their equipment. After a few moments of opening music, their speakers cut out, and my wife walked down the aisle to the sounds of our guests humming "here comes the bride". Efforts to contact M2R after our event remain unanswered. Jason's negligence directly resulted in a complete and total failure of our wedding ceremony - an event which my wife and I will never experience again. As such, I would not recommend Music 2 Remember for any event of significance. Long version: After using M2R for our wedding this summer, my wife and I were unfortunately disappointed in our experience. First, the good stuff - M2R's online resources were easy to use and very convenient. My wife and I were able to choose / suggest key songs for our wedding from the comfort of our home, and would have even been able to send a link to friends for them to do the same. In addition, when we could get a hold of Jason (more on that in a minute), he was very helpful and accommodating. Now, the reasons for our negative review: Prior to signing a contract with M2R, we informed Jason that our wedding venue was nontraditional (a family farm), and as such, had additional wrinkles - specifically regarding power for our ceremony, which was to be held outside. Jason stated that he'd be able to bring his own power. We also communicated to Jason that he needed to use GPS coordinates to navigate to the venue, as Google Maps does not have the venue's address in their database. We were told on multiple occasions that Jason would be the individuals working our ceremony, and that he would be prepared for all of these things. In the weeks and months leading up to our wedding, we found Jason's availability to be unreasonably limited. On numerous occasions, emails went unanswered and required follow-up on our end to receive a response. Come the day of our event, Jason was replaced by a friend / coworker named Jeremy, whom my wife and I had never communicated with. While this in and of itself wasn't a problem, it was an issue that (per Jeremy) Jason did not communicate any of the concerns mentioned above, resulting in Jeremy being significantly late to our wedding. In a rush, Jeremy attempted to set up his equipment, without having time to test, and the wedding went live and the music started. As I was about 10 steps down the aisle, our ceremony music stopped, cut in, and eventually died. Here I was, walking down the aisle to the sweet sounds of awkward silence, broken only by the noise Jeremy made as he attempted to troubleshoot his equipment. As my wife walked to join me, our music consisted of our family humming wedding music. Our minister was required to conduct our ceremony without the aid of a microphone and speaker, and I'm certain that none of our guests could hear us say "I do". After talking with Jeremy, it turns out that Jason gave him limited briefing on our event, and did not mention the technical requirements we had previously discussed. To his credit, Jeremy did a fine job of conducting our reception, and I have no gripes with him. However, I still don't understand why Jason was not the DJ for our event, as we had previously agreed. To be blunt, Jason's negligence directly resulted in a complete and total failure of our wedding ceremony - an event which my wife and I will never experience again. As such, I would not recommend Music 2 Remember for any event of significance. After my honeymoon, I reached out to Jason to discuss these concerns (and, of course, a significant refund). My message to set up a phone call (sent over a month ago) remains unanswered. I'm not holding my breath.

The agreed-upon song for the father-daughter dance was not available due to a "faulty download". Shortly after, the equipment failed altogether. The company did not have backup equipment as they stated they would in their contract. The DJs stated they had equipment coming. None arrived and after 90 minutes a wedding guest and a very helpful hotel manager tapped into the room's overhead speakers in order to have some music. Neither DJ had any idea what to do, they made no announcements to the crowd, and they spent the entire time texting on their phones. Needless to say, the dance was ruined. Our family and the guests were polite and respectful and thus we decided that we would contact the company later about a refund. Now the company is stalling, using excuses as to why they couldn't get backup equipment, and sending demeaning emails to the bride. I've never seen something like this happen before, and I've never dealt with a more unprofessional company. Please, save yourself this type of experience and choose someone else. As for this company, it looks like we'll have to take legal action and all we're asking for is a full refund. If I could, I'd give this company either NO stars or a negative star.
