Andrea is the best in the business. She did my hair and makeup for my wedding on 9/11/2018 and did such a great job that I requested her services again for my hair and makeup for my vow renewal on 9/11/2023. Andrea gets to know "her bride" and her likes and dislikes and discusses all hair and makeup choices before any of the work begins. She takes her time to be certain that everything is absolutely perfect for the bride. Andrea is a magician with her makeup brushes and be sure to get the airbrushing - it is worth every penny and the end result is priceless! Andrea takes the time to get to know you so you feel that you have a friend working with you and she helps take "the nerves" away! She will even assist you with your dress if you need help. Andrea doesn't forget the groom. She will put a "little something" on the groom if needed. If for nothing else to keep him from perspiring when nervous. I would highly recommend Andrea to everyone! Whenever we have an occasion in Maui I will certainly be contacting Andrea again!! Thank You Andrea - You will always be my Go To Girl! read more

My brother-in-law was planning a wedding in Maui and needed to plan everything from CA. He asked me to help coordinate the hair and makeup since his wife doesn't speak much English. We found Andrea through an online search and reached out to her. Andrea was very quick in replying to emails, which was great since we couldn't meet face-to-face beforehand. She was accommodating of our schedule and requests, and she answered all of our questions for the bride regarding hairstyles and makeup (airbrush versus conventional). Since we had 4 people that needed hair and makeup, she brought an assistant (Cindy) with her. We were very happy with both Andrea and Cindy. Andrea was flexible and willing to change the hairstyle and makeup until the bride was happy. She knew what would work best in terms of hairstyling for Hawaii humidity and wind, and what would look best for photos. However, she let the bride take her time in deciding what she wanted. Andrea was punctual and brought everything she needed to help the bride, mothers of the bride and groom, and matron of honor get ready. In addition, her pricing was very reasonable. I would highly recommend her if you are planning your wedding in Maui! read more

I found Andrea via the internet...duh...how else am I supposed to find someone that is thousands of miles away from me? Andrea arrived early and she got right down to business (love when people are early!). She did my mother in law's hair and makeup, my aunt's hair and makeup and my hair. Not having a trial run beforehand, I was just a teeny bit worried, but the outcome was exactly how I wanted it even if I didn't know exactly how I wanted it. Andrea has many many years of experience and I think she did an awesome job with my mother in law and aunt's hair and makeup as well. She was easy to talk to and she knew what she was doing. Thanks Andrea for making us beautiful! read more

Andrea was referred to me by my wedding planner and I could not have asked for a better stylist! She arrived early at the condo I was staying and made me feel so comfortable. I showed her pictures of what I wanted and went to work. She was patient with me (I'm very picky) and gave me exactly what I wanted. She's so talented in what she does and I highly recommend her to all brides. Andrea made me feel so beautiful and confident on my big day! read more

I was very nervous about booking someone to do my wedding hair makeup without ever meeting them or having a trial. From the first contact Andrea was responsive and helpful. I had never had my makeup done so I was concerned about looking overdone. When Andrea arrived at my hotel room she made the whole process painless and fun. She is beyond easy to talk to and provided a lot of helpful information about the area. Everyone in the room really enjoyed talking to her. I was thrilled with the way my hair and makeup looked. I was a better version of myself - polished but not overdone. I wish Andrea could follow me around and do my makeup every day!! She even helped lace up my dress like a pro! Overall, I could not be more satisfied with her services and would definitely recommend her! read more

Andrea was recommended to me by my wedding planner. She is amazing! She knows her craft well. I tend to get a bit moist in warm weather and a little weepy when emotional. She applied all necessary anti sweat and waterproof products to make sure I wasn't a smudged mess during the wedding. I loved my updo. She did an excellent job with my mom's hair and makeup. She's also a great source of knowledge on things to do in Maui, as well as things to skip. read more

A Pampered Bride - Hair and make up by Andrea - Makeup Artists Near Me

Andrea was great to work with. We came from NY to get married in Maui, based on our schedule I couldn't do a trial run. I trusted the reviews and the photos on her site, and she did not disappoint! On the day of my wedding she was punctual & very professional, and made me feel relaxed. I showed her 3 Pinterest ideas I had for hair and a few makeup pics. She nailed it! I could not be happier with how everything turned out. Through the process she talked me through what she was doing, gave me great tips, and even gave me extra lipstick for when I needed retouch through the night. It was an absolute pleasure & im so glad I picked her for my special day. read more

For my wedding, I wanted to have hair & make-up done in our room and not in a salon so that the bridesmaids, moms and friends could be free to pop in and out at their convenience. My photographer recommended Andrea, and we were all so impressed! I scheduled a trial session a few days before the wedding, and Andrea knew exactly the look I wanted even though I didn't know what the style was called. My mom (who usually hates having her hair and make-up done by someone else) was so shocked by the look that she insisted on having her hair and make-up done for the wedding too! After we decided on my wedding look, Andrea pinned my hair in a playful side-do so that my husband-to-be could see my hair without knowing how it would look at the wedding. Andrea was able to find the great balance between a natural look with just enough color and drama for photos. All of the girls loved their hair and make-up. Each girl requested something a little different, and each girl had a few special requests that Andrea was able to accommodate. We also had a variety of skin tones and hair types that Andrea was able to navigate effortlessly. Andrea's vibe is also really great and relaxing - which can make such a huge difference in stressful situations. I can't wait to see the professional photos because the amateur ones we took are absolutely stunning! read more

I am trying to figure out arrange my wedding in Maui. No problem - except I live in California. How do you know what's really good when no one in Hawaii uses yelp! I've checked out a dozen places to get my hair done, even called one or two... I spoke with the concierge at the Grand Wailea Marriott and she recommended Andrea Duarte. I promptly phoned her - we connected instantly. Her quote was NOT expensive (compared to what I've been hearing) and she doesn't charge to come to the hotel. She was nice, friendly, and engaging. We're not going to be able to do a trial run - but she offered to meet me for a trial run a couple days before the wedding (same cost) or for a "consultation" - my consultation will be at a happy hour :) I can't wait to meet her! I'll update my rating post wedding... read more

I choose Andrea to do my hair & makeup for my wedding renewal. She drove to Kaanapali and did my hair & makeup at 4 a.m. since I had to be at Makena Cove at 8 a.m. She did a fabulous job! My hair looked perfect and I loved my makeup with the fake eyelashes. She was great to talk to and really nice. She also helped me into my dress and made sure everything was good to go. My daughter who's 11 years old kept watching us and when she was done with me she told my daughter to hop in the chair and she'd curl her hair and that made my daughter's day and it looked great! Thank you Andrea for making me feel like a princess! read more

Andrea did a fabulous job with my hair and make-up! I have every fine hair, limp hair but she gave it the most volume it has ever had. I don't have enough good things to say about Andrea! All of our hair and makeup looked amazing and held up flawlessly throughout the day, even during a windy day and with all the tears of happiness. There were 7 of us that did hair and makeup. Very organized and knowledgeable about hair and makeup! She went out of her way to help every single one of us, both parties. I highly recommend Andrea to any bride getting married in Maui. Mahalo! read more

I did a lot of research and called a lot of other stylist to compare prices. Andrea seemed the most reasonable, not to mention most economical. I was staying at a condo rental and she showed up there with all her equipment and tools. She was very down to earth and I felt she could do anything you asked for. I didn't do any type of trial since I lived on the mainland and had no plans to fly to Maui before the wedding. Andrea asked for a snap shot of a style I wanted and make up and I sent it to her via email. She was able to duplicate the look I was going for. I also told her I had purchased hair extensions to add volume and she didn't charge me extra to add the hair extensions to my style. Other stylists I spoke to charge. She was very flexible and friendly. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a make up artist and hair stylist on Maui! read more

We had our Maui wedding on 10/2/12 and our photographer recommended Andrea.... I am so thankful for that! Before we headed out to Maui, I emailed her some images of what I was thinking for my hair. I would highly recommend her to anyone and everyone looking for amazing makeup and hair for any special day. Thank you! read more

Andrea is the best! We had been planning a big wedding at home in California, but we decided to elope in Maui instead. Andrea was very responsive to my emails and was willing to work with a very limited timeframe. We got married in Maui the same afternoon that we arrived and Andrea had me out the door ahead of schedule (my friends are still amazed). She even proactively contacted the hotel ahead of time to help me get my dress steamed when we arrived. Andrea has a very calming presence and kept me at ease while working on my hair and make-up. She even got me into my corset-laced dress in record time (and did an amazing job - better than my mother when I'd tried the dress on at home). Andrea had great tips for keeping my look together during the day. She comes prepared for everything - even had an extension cord! My message to all brides - even if you're eloping, you still want to look special on your wedding day and you should definitely use Andrea's services! My husband was blown away when he saw me walk down the aisle and all of our friends and family were amazed by her hair/make-up work - simply flawless. When you're planning a Maui wedding from the mainland, there's always a concern since you won't actually meet your vendors until you arrive. Andrea was ready and waiting at the hotel when we arrived, and she was a dream to work with. I highly recommend her services! read more

We go married at the beautiful Makena Cove on 3/26/13 at 9:30 in the morning. I stress the time here because I was very concerned that I wouldn't find a stylist to accommodate the early morning request. My wedding planner made the connection with Andrea who was more than willing to create my perfect wedding look as early as 5:30am. On the day of my wedding, I was thrilled to meet Andrea, who arrived very promptly with all of her supplies and fresh orchids in tow. From the moment she walked through the door, I instantly connected with her bright personality. First we set expectations to achieve the perfect wedding do. I had sent her a few pics in advance. I was looking for a wavy updo with fresh orchids incorporated. She knew all of the right questions to ask to achieve what I had in my mind and she was able to execute the look perfectly. I couldn't have been happier with my hair. I received so many compliments from my friends and family and I love the way it looks in pictures. Andrea was not only professional and very talented, but she was a pleasure to have. She's easy to talk too and so helpful. She gave me advice on which earrings to wear, make-up tips, and she even help me get in my dress. Being so far away from home (East coast), I felt that Andrea was my mom, my best friend, and my favorite aunt all rolled into one stylish chica! If you are looking for fabulous hair in the comfort of your own room and really good company, Andrea is your girl. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Andrea for your beautiful work and your wonderful personality. I appreciate you so much and will never forget you. Mahalo! read more

A Pampered Bride - Getting ready for the big day with a lot of help from Andrea. Loved my bridal hair. Thank you! - Makeup Artists Near Me

After much research, I decided on Andrea for my maui wedding. Not only did she have the most reasonable price (no travel fee!) but she also had the best reviews, and I can see why. I'd never had my hair/mu done professionally before, and she put me at ease immediately. She was very friendly with my husband and they spent much time talking and joking, which was great for me as I got to just sit there and relax! I was happy with both her personality and her skill-set. My makeup was very natural and glowy, just I requested. Great job Andrea :-) read more

Where can I even begin? I chose Andrea because she was one of the options for hair and make up from Hawaiian Island Weddings whom I booked my destination wedding through. I originally chose her because of her listed experience and the up do photos that she had showed as examples. What I got was more than I could imagine. She undoubtedly made me look the best I have ever looked! The make up was natural and enhanced my features without the weight of heavy make up (which is saying something because I have adult acne). My hair was very similar to the picture of a previous hair do I had, but with a Hawaiian flair (added orchids). Even my ever critical mother thought my hair and make up were flawless and beautiful! She clearly has an eye for tasteful and stunning make up and hair with the experience to execute a vision efficiently and effortlessly. Of course beyond her beauty skill set - she was great with email communication, came early to my condo, stayed past her time to help my maid of honor get in me into my wedding dress, and sent me on my way with a make up goody bag for touch ups. She had so many tips, tricks, and advice for putting on my dress, looking my best for the wedding and reception, and for my skin in general. What makes Andrea stand out from the rest though by far is her fun personality. On typically a stress filled day for most, she put me at ease and was so comfortable to be around. She is so fun and just sets a relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend Andrea and have no doubt that she can make your wedding day look a reality. read more

What can I say about Andrea that hasn't already been said? She was absolutely wonderful. I made an internet reservation with her for my wedding day makeup and hair because I was so impressed with her portfolio (and she conveniently comes to you). She responded immediately which can be rare for Hawaii and was friendly, professional, calming, and accommodating (not to mention, talented). I booked a trial run the day before which thinking back on it, I didn't really need, but after the trial she fixed my hair with fresh orchids for the rehearsal dinner no extra charge. The next day she arrived on time and her presence made everyone feel at ease. My hair and makeup looked exquisite, and I truly felt pampered on my wedding day. She even went above and beyond the call of duty to help my sister with her eyelashes, helped my aunt attach a flower in her hair, and lent my bridesmaids her set of professional curling irons. When she was finishing up, she noticed that my bridesmaids needed more time fixing their hair so she offered to come pick her curling irons up later. I highly recommend Andrea because she is congenial, does affordable yet outstanding work, and makes you feel like a queen on your special day. Thank you, Andrea for helping to make my day perfect! read more

Andrea and her assistant did an EXCELLENT job! I really can't say enough about her work, attention to detail, and service. I arranged for my wedding to be in Maui and organized it from California. For close to a year, Andrea and I exchanged emails about pricing, styles, logistics, etc. Andrea was very prompt in responding and totally understanding about pricing/wedding costs. She was very flexible and very helpful, with a lot of good recommendations. Even up till the day before the event, Andrea was very flexible as I didn't know where my bridesmaids and myself would be located to prepare for the wedding. Andrea was very prompt that day and she/her assistant were a joy to work with as they both assured myself and my bridesmaids of how they would prepare our make-up. Andrea main priority I could tell was ensuring we were all relaxed, comfortable, and looked our best. I appreciated her advice and help from make-up on my face, to neck/chest/back given I was wearing a strapless dress, to how to take out the veil if I wanted it out during the dinner and after to ceremony to how to put on my dress with make-up and how my bridesmaids could help. She even made sure I had extra bobby pins, lip gloss/lipstick, and hairspray in case there were any flyaways. I can't say enough about Andrea's work and HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU HIRE HER! I wish I could fly her here to mainland and recommend her for weddings here! Thank you, Andrea, for making it a breeze to have a wedding in Maui, and for all your help. It was an ultimate joy working with you and getting to know you! read more
