This was a great class that made us feel completely prepared for a natural, out of hospital birth!…read moreI never once felt fearful during my baby's birth because I felt like I knew exactly what to expect. We also really enjoyed getting to know other expecting couples in the area. I would definitely recommend anyone planning to have a natural birth take this class! We loved it and were actually a bit sad when it ended!

If you desire herbal remedies, I can help as a Certified Herbalist. The Birth Boot Camp curriculum is used for classes for hospital births, out-of-hospital births, newborn care, and others. Ultimately, I want both of you to be empowered and educated through the birth experience. All classes come with a useful booklet. I am also a certified birth and bereavement doula, supporting women and their partners during labor. I will get to know you prenatally, help you with comfort measures and information during birth, and then follow up afterwards to see if you need help adjusting to life with a baby. If you need additional help postpartum, I also act as a postpartum doula. I can help with anything you need in the immediate postpartum. There is no reason to go it alone!

All of our kids were born prematurely. When we had a bad experience with a referral for in home Jaundice care. I simply just mentioned it to Dr. Klemm atca follow up appointment and he quickly resolved it. I was exhausted and overwhelmed with being a 1st time Mom of a premature baby to care for and was so grateful for his intervention without even having to ask! Over the years the care our boys have received by Dr. Klemm, the nursing staff and the front office has been are unmatched. When we moved almost an hour away 11 years ago, I still made the trek to their new office, even further away because there is no-one else I trusted to treat our boys. Side not one insurance issues: BCBS of AL loves to blame the Physician/Provider for insurance issues when in reality the quality of the insurance provided by BCBS of AL is terrible. We've had BCBSAL for 20 plus years. Each year we pay more and get less coverage. I imagine all doctors and front offices are overwhelmed with the ever changing coverage. I find it unfair to blame HPA when the ones raking in billions of dollars are the company execs at BCBS while we get LESS coverage and PAY MORE. Somr Physicians are leaving their fields because of all the loopholes they go through just to be able to treat patients and make a decent living. Policy change is necessary for better healthcare so Physicians can focus on treating patients not paperwork.

They are all in High School now with my oldest about to go to college. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Klemm and his staff, the most capable and caring group of healthcare professionals we've ever met. They have been a blessing for almost 18 years and I recommend them to every new parent I meet. The best around, period.

My whole life I thought I would have an epidural when I had a child. I looked at women that gave…read morebirth naturally and wondered why they would chose that. Then, I went to a birthing class and didn't have a peace about my lifelong plan. I wanted to move during labor, I wanted to be aware of every feeling of this process because it may be the only time I experience it, and I worried about the possible complications involved with an epidural. Because of this by the end of the class I had made the decision to have a natural childbirth if possible. Because of this change my OBGYN recommended I hire a doula. Katie immediately came to mind. My husband and I met with her and reviewed the all the doulas she worked with. While all seemed great we chose Katie because we knew her, and I felt comfortable with her. She walked through every step with me making sure I was comfortable with the decisions that were placed before me. She helped me work through my labor and offered useful positions at different points to help with pain and positioning. Because of my blood pressure I was not able to labor in the suit with the tub out hospital provided. So, Katie brought and set up a tub for me. Without her that wouldn't have been an option and was a complete game changer for me. She was an integral part of my birthing experience and I 100% want her there again if I get the honor of having a 2nd child.

Katie walked alongside me for both of my pregnancies and offered endless encouragement, resources, and guidance. As our Postpartum Doula, she was an essential part of our lives for the first several months after our youngest was born. She showed up each scheduled day and offered to help in whatever way we needed, whether that was helping take care of our newborn, our toddler, daily chores around the house, food prep, support/encouragement/resources, etc. Katie also helped ease me back into the world and went with us on our first outings. Overall, I felt much more refreshed my second time around postpartum and I attribute that to having Katie's help. The postpartum period is an extremely vulnerable time, and I always felt comfortable around Katie to be my true self and let her know what I needed. She has a way of making everyone around her feel loved and valued. She went above and beyond to do special things for our family and I am forever appreciative to all the many ways she has helped us over the past several years.
