I've been looking for a new dentist for a while since my previous dentist retired and I wasn't entirely pleased with the new staff. I finally decided to give this place a try. I've had dental work done in the past that's had to be redone, and have had my fair share of unpleasant experiences, even during routine cleanings. I've been so sore and in pain for days, unable to properly eat, from just a regular tooth cleaning - I used to dread those appointments. It was very simple to make an appointment online which was already a plus. This place is also about 10 minutes away which was also convenient. The front staff is nice, not rude or condescending like some other places. I didn't have to wait long until I was called in. I had X-rays done, and then the Dr came in and actually spent a good amount of time just getting to know me as a person. After looking at my X-rays and doing a quick exam, he gave me a simple treatment plan for one tooth. He explained everything thoroughly and answered every question I had. I was even able to get my teeth cleaned with Zareh the same day and he was really efficient and gentle - no pain or soreness afterwards at all. I'll be going for my treatment in a few weeks so I'm a little nervous but feeling optimistic. I'll have to update this review after treatment so hopefully everything goes smoothly. read more

My husband was in so much pain from his wisdom teeth, but our other dentist place that we went to was charging him $700 plus more $ just to take out one wisdom teeth and they don't wanna take his insurance they wanted cash, we came here and immediately they looked into our insurance said yes it covers it and helped my husband THE SAME DAY! 1 star because the staff and Dr. Ramtin are polite and friendly. This dental office in Pacoima is extremely overpriced. I've been coming here for many years and never questioned to go to other dental offices. I'm questioning why the price of crown is $400 more at A New Smile vs. dental offices in Studio City or Pasadena. The materials are the same and my insurance did the same. Also, now that I am seeing a new dentist, he mentioned that my crows weren't done well. Now I have food getting stuck in them all the time since I got the crowns put in. Now the new dentist said that I'm at risk for increase decay because all this food is getting stuck in between the two crowns Dr. Ramtin put in. read more

Okay so I literally just had to Major procedures done at this office a root canal and a tooth extraction and implant. I have never met such a caring group of dentists. Dr. Ramtin is absolutely amazing. He makes you feel so at ease and comfortable and is so kind and caring compassionate and understanding. The endodontist who did my root canal was absolutely lovely and also kind and caring. The doctor who pulled my tooth and did the implant was absolutely quick professional and excellent. The entire staff is amazing caring kind and informative. These people are at the dental office of my dreams. Especially Dr. Ramtin!!! I had almost zero pain in the entirety of both procedures. If you're terrified of the dentist or any kind of dental work, let me assure you--this is the place where everything will change! Dr. Ramtin is incredible. His sense of humor will instantly put you at ease, and if you're feeling nervous, he'll do everything possible to make the experience easier. I was especially anxious when I found out I needed to get all four of my wisdom teeth removed. I was mortified. The day before the procedure, I texted the staff, and they invited me to come in. Dr. Ramtin took the time to explain every step of the procedure, as well as the aftercare, and with his jokes, he made me feel safe and calm. On the day of the procedure, he welcomed me with another joke and again went over everything with me. Even the surgeon, Dr. Choi, stopped by to help calm my nerves. The removal took less than 20 minutes, and there was very little pain! The recovery process has been smooth and not nearly as bad as I had imagined. If you're in need of a dentist and are terrified like I was, please go here. This is truly the place that will change your perception of dental care. I am currently receiving dental work at this location. Everyone is incredibly nice and make you feel at ease. I have always been terrified of the dentist. But I can honestly say that coming here has been a game changer. I am obviously still not a fan of dental work but this office has made the process more tolerable and less traumatic. To say I am pleased with this medical office is an understatement. If I could rate them from the scale of 1 to 10 they would easily get a 20, that's how good they are. I am completely frightened of the dentist and unfortunately I needed a root canal, so you can imagine how I felt. For a person who dreads, and I mean D R E A D S going to the dentist, this place has healed my past trauma with dental work. I was able to get an appointment the same day thanks to the lovely woman on the phone, since a piece on one of my teeth had broken off the day before. It was towards the end of the day on a Friday so maybe that helped, but I'm pretty sure this is how the staff treats every patient, based on their great reviews. I am happily updating my 1 star review, today we went back to this office and our experience was quite different than our first time, Doctor Parham Ramtin was amazing as always, Doctor Steven Choi was amazing, first time seeing him and he was on point, both of them explained the procedure throughly, the nurses were on point, helpful and accommodating, courteous, had a tooth extracted and an implant put in, the procedure itself was swift, very happy with the customer service and the procedure, will definitely recommend this office, no one is perfect and anyone can have a bad day, but this visit was perfect, both Doctors went above and beyond and the whole team was super synchronized, good job everyone!!! read more

So, if you're not here to read a long review about dentists let me just sum up my experience in one sentence, "I finally found dentists that I can trust, that do great work and have wonderful guest relations with Dr. Ramtin's group." Now if you wanna know how messed up my mouth was --here we go... When I arrived at the office I was in bad shape. (I had an abscess and a failed dental bridge, among other things). Dr. Ramtin first put me at ease with his dry humor and then ran through all my options (and financing) after a round of x-rays. Since January the dental group has pulled a molar, cleaned out my abscess socket, performed a successful bone graft, delivered and installed a tooth implant, delivered and installed a crown on a post, performed a root canal, delivered and installed another crown and performed a successful deep cleaning. I have had ZERO problems with this office. I usually hate the dentist but I LOVE these doctors-- this group is top notch! read more

Backstory: I used to go to a well-known dentist franchise back in the day. They'd advised that even though my wisdom teeth were impacted, I didn't need to get them removed. Two years later, I'm going through the most excruciating pain in my life--turns out one of my wisdom teeth were pinching nerves and I needed it removed immediately. After an emergency consultation, they said they could get me booked for an extraction: SEVEN WEEKS OUT. At this point I'd been in pain for a little over two weeks and having to deal with it for effectively another two months was utterly ridiculous. I called A New Smile and had a consultation with Dr. Ramtin the next day. He saw the extent of the problem, explained it in a way better fashion than anyone at the old place. I got an appointment for an extraction the next week with their oral surgeon, Dr. Choi. Lemme tell you that Dr. Choi is a miracle worker. The extraction itself was 10 minutes -- if that! The whole process took about an hour and the relief was immediate. These guys are pros at what they do and they're very friendly and forthcoming with their expertise. 10 out of 10! read more

The silver hair gentleman, hygienist, cleans my teeth with little to no pain, unlike other places where they take pleasure in giving more pain then cleaning. They have upgraded their equipment too. The BEST and only dentist you will ever need. I've been coming here for many years now. I have recommended dozens of family and friends and we have all had positive experiences. I even began bringing my 10yr old daughter as I kept having trouble finding a trustworthy and honest pediatric dentist for her. Luckily for us she had all her permanent teeth so we were able to get her treated here. Everyone is friendly they have positive attitudes, the office is very clean and updated. I hadn't been to a dentist in 3 years because I had such a fear of going to the dentist. But when I chipped a tooth and it was very sensitive, I knew I needed to schedule an appointment. I had 2 procedures that needed to be done, a wisdom tooth extraction and a crown. Dr. Ramtin and his crew were extremely friendly, professional and welcoming.. making me feel completely comfortable/relaxed. It affected my self confidence for fifty years. Dr. Ramtin took molds, made plastic temporaries, that I wore for two weeks. Dr. Ramtin has done this many times. He has an exceptional attention to detail, that is so crucial to making the new smile look natural. Jose, his veneer Assitant, was fantastic. I recently went to this Dentist as I was no longer able to get serviced at my previous one due to insurance issues after being let go from my last job. I thought it would be hard to find a good dentist under medical insurance but was pleased to find "A new smile" off of yelp and after reading a lot of positive feedback on this place, I decided to go in for a consultation. I had been overdue a year for a cleaning. I must say the location of the place seems a little sketch at first, but once you get over the appearance, the inside is really something else. From the staff, to the atmosphere, music, Dr. Ramtin...I was beyond happy I gave this place a visit and am excited to keep going for my cleanings/dental care as needed.
