I have left an extremely detailed review on Google, and somehow it keeps getting taken down, even…read morethough I did not violate any terms. Anyways, PLEASE for your sake, stay away. In a nutshell, they won't work on your car when they tell you they will, and will charge a ton of money, and not fix the problem. It cost me 1100 dollars to fix a noise that sounded like a bad pulley. They replaced a pulley and tensioner, I still heard noise after I paid, told the 2 technicians, they were VERY adamant that there was no noise and everything was good. Long story short, 2 weeks later, I had to replace a failing water pump at over 1000 dollars while traveling on vacation. I even mentioned when I first brought it in that it could be the water pump. Please don't go through the headache I did.

I had been calling various garages to see about replacing the AC compressor on my 2011 Honda CRV…read more $1400 was not in my budget for the place I usually go. A friend of mine had some work done at Community Auto Service with Bret. She sang his praises and so I asked him what it might cost for me to get my AC Compressor replaced. His estimate was 1/2 the price of what I was told at other places. I called and made the appointment to take my car in. No joke, 20 minutes after making the appointment I got to work and smelled a burning smell - but didn't see smoke or anything. I told my husband about it and we had a game plan. When I went to leave, my car started and went into reverse, but my steering wheel wouldn't move, so I ended up having my car towed to Community Auto a day early. They still didn't get to it until the appointment time, but that was ok. In addition to the AC compressor, a belt had been destroyed, etc. When Bret called to tell me the cost, I had expected it to get to be the $1400, but it wasn't. The grand total was about $845. I was very happy with that. Bret was thorough and quick with the repair and I am very happy.

They warranty their work. The pricing is fair. They're efficient. They won't waste your time. They're also very honest and clear about how long work takes and parts getting in. They're on time. Great place. I trust them with what my Jeep needs and for the right price.

I was recommended to Don's by another mechanic that I'd gone to for years. I've been going to Don's for3 - 4 years now. They've always done a fine job diagnosing the cause of a problem and recommending how much and how long it would take to fix the problem. I took my 09 CTS into Don's about 5 - 6 weeks ago. All wheel drive started making a banging noise. One of their technicians went with me for a test drive and he was able to pinpoint the general area. I was given an estimate and they fixed (?) the problem. About a week later the CTS started making the noise again. My wife was driving the car at the time and as soon as she heard it she was able to turn into another local (Dent, OH.) garage. The shop she pulled into in Dent said it was going to cost over a thousand dollars to fix (which did include fixing the work that Don's Garage did. I called Don's and he (at my suggestion) spoke with the tech in Dent. Don's sent a wrecker out to get my car (at no charge to me). Don's got into diagnosing what the Dent mechanic identified. Don's garage agreed with the other dianosis. There was no arguing or haggling. Don's fixed the car (it wasn't a big deal). Just vibration worked some bolts loose on the 'rear end', coupled with my wife getting off the road so quickly. There was no charge for the work, no charge for the wrecker and they worked with the Dent mechanic and again, no charge to me. Will I go back to Don's Garage in Elsmere again? ABSOLUTELY! We live in Monfort Heights but we'll gladly drive the 22 miles to Don's while passing hundred(s) of shops along the way, many of which I'm sure are capable repair shops. They earned the right for me to keep using them. Best regards, Don G.
