They were able to match my coverage for a cheaper price than I was paying at the time (my insurance company did not cover me out of that state). Last week I contacted them again after moving back to Texas. Again they were incredibly friendly (my favorite thing about a majority of Texans), and gave me a huge range of options to choose from. Some of the prices were very high but some of them were cheaper than companies like Geico and The General. I got my quotes fast and they had all the paperwork done and copies of the ID card emailed to me within 2 hours. Very easy company to deal with. Give em a shot. Oh! They also let me know that once I get my license switched to Texas, my rate will go down, so if I call and give them my TX license #, they'll take care of that for me. Nice honest people.

They let one of my policies lapse and then charged me a fee because they said it was a new policy. On top of that I asked them to duplicate the same coverage as before then 2 months later the loan holder charges me $930 for insurance because it didn't have collision coverage as it did before. A simple phone call would have been nice before the policy lapsed. I had never been late on payment or anything. I would give to them a negative number on the rating of I could!

We have since chosen to change our policies to Farmers Insurance not because of cost, but most importantly being able to work directly with the actual agent... I am writing this review 6 days (Nov. 25, 2015 *2:20PM*) after I had a car accident with an…read moreEmpowered customer that left my vehicle undrivable(Nov. 19 *~6PM*). My review and rating may change depending on how my experience goes with them. Nov. 25 *2:00PM* - So far the experience I have had with Empowered has not been good. I called the morning after the accident (Nov. 20 *~11AM*) and was confirmed that they had already received a claim from their client and were looking into it. They gave me a phone number to contact and I left a voice message asking to call me back and what I should do next. I never received a call back and had called for 2 business days before finally speaking to someone. The person I spoke to did not seem to have any idea about even the basic information about the claim and it seemed that he had not reviewed it at all. He said they could not look at my car until I took it from the towing company, which I simply cannot do because I am a broke college student without any means to tow it away myself. Everyone I have talked to has said that insurance companies always visit the towing companies to review the damages and have been advised to leave it there to pressure Empowered to do something or else they will likely take their time while it sits at my home. Since they have already tried to ignore me, this seems like the only option to go with. I cant even take the car away from the towing company to begin with. The claims officer that I talked to also said that they need to review the police report to see who was at fault and they would contact me when they find out. I went to the police station today and their statement reads that their client was at fault for not yielding right of way. It took me about 20 minutes to walk to the station and request it. I do not understand why it has taken them so long. I called them about an hour ago and was told that they would call me back in 20 minutes. Still no one has called me. My car was left undrivable and I was not even offered a rental. I have missed hours of work and have had to skip classes because of this and will not be able to spend Thanksgiving with my family because I have no means to drive to the airport. I am extremely upset at the moment. After reading other reviews on here, I doubt I will even get a portion of what it will take to repair my vehicle. Nov. 25 *3:39PM* - Called back after waiting over an hour for them to call me back. Was told to wait for my claims officer later today or tomorrow. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, so I doubt I will receive a call. I had plans to spend the holiday with my family but without any transportation that will not be possible. I am already getting screwed with student loans, it sucks that I may also get screwed by this insurance company as well, even when the police report itself says that I am not at fault.

Let me start by saying I'd rather give zero stars…read more Dillo's claims online are false advertising bait and switch tactics. "Whether you were you dropped from your insurance company or a few accidents made your rate skyrocket, Dillo Insurance has an affordable plan for you. Tickets, accidents, a lapse in coverage, or no prior coverage give most big companies a reason to increase your car insurance rate or deny you coverage because you are considered a high risk driver. We don't expect your driving record to be perfect and we have affordable rates for everyone, including high risk drivers!" None of the above could be further from the truth. My current provider, Geico, went from $380 to $444 a month! DILLO QUOTED $512!! Seriously??? Do NOT waste your time with this insurance company unless you like spending money you already do not have. If they are this bad on quoting and gouging their customers, how bad do you think their billing tactics/practices are?
