The gelato is pretty solid. My coffee and chocolate combination delivered on the sweetness and had…read moreoverall decent flavor, though neither flavor was particularly intense. For me it was served at the perfect temperature: Not too cold to hold, just on the edge of melting, delivering half-melted bites of gelato all the way throughout the cup. I did notice visible ice crystals and also ice on the palate, which is an unfortunate sign of non-ideal freezing: Either it was flash frozen or it's been in the case for too long.
It is unfortunate that all the flavors are sealed away in lidded containers. That's no way to browse for gelato: the color and temptation is all sealed away behind identical-looking containers. I made do by reading the menu, which is written in English and Portuguese.
It was also clear as day, from the forced smile and workmanlike manner of the sole behind-the-counter staffer, that he was totally over his job. That vibe drags everything down a little.
