I tried so many different places, types of glue, and lash brands and nothing really seemed to fix the reactions I was having. I don't think it was the fault of any specific place or experience I had. All that said, I gave lash central a shot, and I felt like I didn't have a big reaction for the first time in a long time. I was a little irritated, but again I don't think it had anything to do with lash central, it was more of a me issue. At this point, this is probably the only lash studio in Riverside I would visit.

On top of that, they expect you to get a new set every two weeks, which gets extremely expensive. I just got a brand-new set today, and honestly, I feel like pulling them all out. $110 straight in the trash. At this point, the quality simply doesn't justify the price. I booked my appointment through the app which was at 0930. On my way to the shop, I missed a call from an unknown number at 0850. Right after I received a text stating my appointment was going to be cancelled. I called back and was told they don't open until 10 even tho online appointment was at 0930. I sat outside for 30 minutes.. no big deal. 10am comes, the technician and I discuss the lash style (via translation) and it is recommended I get the "wispy 3d" BASED ON A PHOTO they supply. During the appointment the tech is interrupted multiple times, receiving texts and taking phone calls during my appointment, yanks at my lashes and scolds me for flinching. Once we are done.. I sit up and my lashes look awful (as shown in photo ). Each lash looks like a cluster of glue is holding 6 lashes in a line, like a cluster, creating a messy lash line, jagged saw tooth appearance and an overall awful look. The lashes were nothing like the photo that was suggested to me for a "wispy 3d" look. Embarrassed, I thanked the woman, paid and left. I got in the car and looked at my lashes and I knew I couldn't leave these lashes on for my special occasion. I walked back in the store and let the technician know I really did not care for the way that she did the lashes and that they were nothing like the photo.. Her response: " i did them as in the photo." The lashes; Heavily clustered, choppy, not blending, just horrible. She defensively reiterated that she did them like the photo. And offered no solution. As I walked out, I came back in because this situation was so wrong and it was $120 down the drain! A new woman was there and I explained I wanted even a partial refund to have them redone elsewhere or to have them removed. she grabbed the original tech. The technician told me that she had a massage to focus on and I could come back in 40 minutes! The technician THEN went on for 30 minutes arguing with me that she "did the photo". Telling me that I chose the style and it's not her fault that I "do not like" the style. Telling me that it is as if I "chose a skirt and then got mad because I wanted a pair of pants instead". And that's literally what her translation machine said to me!! I did not ask for something and change my mind. I asked for something and it was NOT delivered. I GOT something that was not only completely different, but horribly done and falsely advertised. I told her I would like a partial refund, still giving her some money for her time, but that I was getting my lashes removed. She refused to give me a refund and told me leaving her shop with Lashes makes me a scoundrel!!! I will be honest, this is the statement that made me decide to share this encounter. I not only felt robbed of my money at this establishment, but straight up bullied!! It was not until I assured her that I would be sharing this encounter and how unprofessional and what a scam she is that she told me she would give me a partial refund AND that I must have my eyelashes removed by HER. I gladly accepted the offer to get those god-awful eyelashes off of my face and take the financial hit just to get the hell out of that place! I honestly cannot stress enough how much I hope people do not contribute financially to this woman! I also hope that the women who were in this establishment for this encounter see this review and can confirm how upsetting this was!! She had a lovely scent enveloping the treatment room (an aromatherapy diffuser, I believe), and she started by having me take a few deep, relaxing breaths so as to better receive the full benefits of the treatment. The treatment itself was soothing and wonderful. Afterwards, Maria did not once try to sell me on future services or on expensive products. She asked only if I'd like to make my next appointment then, or if I'd prefer to call when I was ready. She gave me samples of product, but didn't hype them, tell me I "should" be using them, or try to push them on me in any way. I've been to other salons and spas where everything is very sleek, the employees are highly groomed and made up, and there is an air of elitism (the other side of that coin is the air of tacit disapproval if one doesn't buy a line of products or immediately schedule another appointment). Maria and her clinic are nothing like that. Not only is Maria a down to earth and pleasant person, but she is also a talented esthetician who clearly loves what she does, and is motivated by the desire to help people.
