Choosing Emily was honestly a shot in the dark after researching a lot of blonde specialists in the area, but I instantly connected with her vibe and her after photos, and even more so once meeting her in person! The salon itself is adorable. The music is 10/10, which immediately makes the whole experience feel fun & relaxed. When I asked for a "sandy/beige, not too bright or yellow blonde" (lol), she completely understood the assignment. The color turned out exactly how I envisioned it. Honestly I'll probably want this shade for the rest of my life. I also really appreciate that she uses more environmentally friendly professional products. The rinse and scalp product alone will leave your scalp feeling completely refreshed! I did my due diligence in researching the right one & looking at yelp for the best reviews and they did NOT lead me astray! She is a miracle worker & a true professional at her craft. I let my hair grow to shoulder length so she would have plenty of hair to work with. I wanted it short and tapered in the back, asymmetrical back to front, long in the front. A good angle. I wanted soft curls, so had it permed. I specifically told her not to cut my bangs, which were below my nose before the cut. I wanted them to grow out. She cut them. She gave me a straight bob, no angle and it's short! No amount of using a curling tool to soften works because it's too short and not styled correctly not layered correctly. Because traditional permanent color makes my scalp itch and burn, I looked into O&M color (it doesn't use ammonia or PPDs) and thought it might be a better choice. I was previously using Schwartzkoph's demi color line. I found Bearde' Salon online, read the reviews, and looked into several of the stylists' backgrounds. I chose Michael Bearde, the salon owner, because he is Vidal Sasson trained and his salon is dedicated to using organic hair care products. Michael initially booked a consultation and we discussed pricing during this appointment. He allowed me to test the product on my skin to make sure I would not have a reaction to their permanent color line. I have been extremely happy each time Michael colors, cuts, and styles my hair. I have never been so happy with a stylist before. The pricing is considerably more than I have paid in the past, but Michael is worth every penny. And, the salon smells amazing. Also, Michael's Dracena line of hair care is the first product that doesn't make my scalp itch and the products smell wonderful. I have avoided most styling products for years for this reason.

They were having pretty simple half updos and left in tears because they didn't like their hair and had no time to get ready. We literally had to completely take out their hair and redo it as quick as we could to make it to pictures. This was supposed to be a fun experience and it wasn't. $150 dollars later all we were left with was miserable girls and me redoing their hairstyles and recurling their hair. When I reached out to the salon owner she told me if she refunded me the stylists wouldn't get paid and made me feel horrible about that. She offered conditioning treatments for my girls' hair instead but they didn't want to go back ever after their experience. So don't book hoco styles for your daughters here or you will be out $150 and end up redoing their hair yourself.
