I am just now reading reviews for this Mission, Office. I have been going to this office for many years even when it was on Long. The reviews I just read are very bad here. I have never had any problems either calling in or appointments. I have been happy with their services so far. I called today and made an appointment. They immediately answered. On 2/23/2024 Vinesha Byers, PA attempted to remove a blackhead. She tried to remove the blackhead again on 3/13/2024, telling me each time that she had removed it. I sat right there, squeezed on the blackhead and more stuff came out. The blackhead has not been removed. My insurance and I was charged for every visit. I spoke with the manager a few days later and she seemed to blow me off telling me that a blackhead will fill back up. I said, "Yes, but not in 20 minutes!" The next week I receive another bill from them. on 2/28/2024 the same PA attempted to cut a small cyst out but it's still producing stuff so I know she didn't get it all out either. She stitched me up leaving an awful scar. I'm just wondering why I'm paying for something I didn't receive. The manager told me I could come back. I said, "And be charged again? No thanks." I should have read the reviews before going there. :( read more

Dr. Byers is good but the front desk staff are awful. I arrived for my appointment on time and had to wait over 20 minutes without acknowledgement. This was my second visit to the office for a follow appointment with a nurse. The front desk staff are not friendly, but lazy and loud. This office needs to remind their front line staff who pays the bills including their salary (the customer). Good customer service goes a long way but bad customer service will always have negative reviews on social media. This office needs to address those employees they have hired who are responsible for greeting customers. DON'T USE this practice go elsewhere where you will be treated with respect and acknowledged as a customer. Spend your money with those who care! read more

The Patient Portal is USELESS for "Patient-to-Dr" communication. They have the "COMPOSE Message" DISABLED intentionally. Yet, they waste no time sending email via portal to patient when payment is due. Therefore, had to send message to the Mission office via the "Contact Us" on the KMC main website and weeks later STILL HAVE NOT received a call or response back. This is totally ridiculous and very much UN-professional. I honestly, don't understand why any good-hearted, customer-friendly person would mindfully choose to work/be associated with this Mission office location. (At time of writing this review, I've been on hold, so far, for 20 mins. I've complained to the Mission office and the office in Topeka, KS regarding unable to send/COMPOSE messages in the Portal. And both locations say it's the other office location issue to resolve. THEY DON"T CARE. You would think if patients could communicate with the office/Dr via the portal, and get a response back, it may cut down on the calls the office receive. The dermatology procedure I'm currently working with the KMC-Mission office is slated to be a 9-month process. Yet, I'm honestly considering looking for another service provider (WHO really cares), due to all this rudeness and unprofessionalism from the front-line customer service folks. Other than this KMC- Mission dermatology location, I use the same Healow patient portal faithfully with messaging my other Dr's and I ALWAYS receive timely and very much appreciated responses to my health question/concern and refill needed. I wouldn't recommend this KMC-Mission dermatology location (if you were specifically wanting/expecting to be seen by Dr Meena Singh (as I did) because after your initial visit/procedure with her, you WILL be forced to be seen by other Dr/PA-C in that office....this was a huge disappointment (in expectation) after waiting almost a year to be seen/treated specifically by Dr Singh. Had I known this "beforehand" I would have searched for other Dermatologist (to my preference). read more

The PA I saw over prescribed me antibiotics which started to cause me to experience hearing loss and if it wasn't for my primary care physician who noticed that the medication was too high/what what was causing me hearing loss things could have gotten bad. Before talking to a physician I tried to call the clinic and they said they would call me back regarding my symptoms however I have not heard from them for weeks (this is after trying to call and wait for a response multiple times). If you're experiencing normal acne related problems I would recommend curology. Started working for me immediately and they're always on standby ready to help you whenever they can without the extra $$$. read more

I just drove my wife an hour And a half from Manhattan to Kansas City only to find someone canceled the appointment. My wife was questioning who changed the appointment and why the appointment had been changed when the receptionist got upset and hung up on us not once, but twice. Last time I checked, this behavior is inappropriate. We were never given a reason the appointment was canceled, we were never called or told the appointment had been canceled. So, in a nutshell because of their incompetence, my wife lost a days worth of work and the gas it took to drive 200 miles. Unacceptable. I highly recommend you find someone else before you use KMC. read more

This is the KMC that used to be on Long, it seems are in Mission now, they don't bother to answer the telephone, but when they occasionally do they leave you on hold and never come back. Or they will have an answering machine ask for your name and phone number and they will never call you back if you leave a message either. I have been here for years and I will not be going back. Because for one thing you can't get an appointment so you can go back.!! There Has to be better dermatologist in town and I'm going to find a new one. read more

I don't like how you can never speak with anyone on the phone. You have to wait until they call you back. I had ( finally) got an appointment set up in 4 weeks. The soonest available. I had a family member pass away over the weekend. The funeral is on the same day as my appointment so I called twice on Monday morning, trying to cancel and reschedule. TWICE I left a message. I got a text 3 days later confirming my appointment--a poorly run doctor's office. I wouldn't use this practice now if they were the only ones in the area. read more

I would not send my worst enemy to these people. I wish they had a 0 stars. My primary care recommended them because of my hair loss. I waited almost 4 weeks for an appointment. My appointment was at 8:45am with I thought a doctor. I had to get there early to fill out paperwork - they could not send it to me so I could have it filled out ahead of time. After waiting 15 minutes past my appoint time a lady took me back to a room - asked me a couple of questions and left. At 9:40 another lady came in - said she was a "nurse". I said I thought I was seeing a doctor. No Dr. is gone. She tells me it will be six months before my hair comes back. She hands me a piece of paper to read and tells me to come back in 6 months. In with me less than 5 minutes almost 40 minutes past my appointment time. I would not take my dog back there in six months. To these people my time was worth nothing. I feel like sending them a bill. Besides they did nothing to help. read more

The providers are great here and so is the staff at the spa. Unfortunately they have the worst customer service and there are frequent errors made in scheduling appointments (time and reason for visit), and billing errors. The attitude, lack of knowledge and accountability from the phone staff when this occurs is disappointing. read more

I had cryotherapy done twice, the first time I thought maybe it was just me so I went back for a 2nd treatment. There was no redness, soreness or any changes to the area both times. It's unfortunate that in all I have spent close to 1k here for nothing. I went to a different clinic and had the same procedure done and everything went as it was supposed to and the issue was resolved. I cancelled my future appointment here and will not be coming back. I had full face laser pigmentation and paid $275.00...a lot of money, right? I also purchased an $80.00 lightening product on top of that (never have done that so we will see). Anyway, I was not completely satisfied on a small area on the side of my face (the size of a quarter) so I called and asked if she could just laser that one area again as I was told to call back in a month if I felt I needed a touch up. Like I said, it was a small area and the receptionist told me that it would cost me another $150.00! I think this is pure robbery! Makes you wonder if they purposely don't do a "complete" job and then knowing that "you'll be back". I won't be returning. That touch up area should have cost $50.00, not $150.00!! I'll be looking for another place. Oh, and be prepared...when you check out with a credit card...they ask for a tip. I just paid a lot of money for this procedure and product on top of that...hard no for a 20% tip on top of that. read more

Curious why KMC doesn't post the negative things? Thats funny as I believe they screened my true experience at Shawnee Mission location. Don't go there if I were you! Won't mention the Dr. however most of you will know who I am talking about. Had to go back after surgery as I was bleeding profusely from the operation and this Dr. had a second chance, however after holding multiple clothes on my neck ended up at the emergency room for most the night. Called Dr. she didn't care. To big of an inconvenience. I looked like a fool going back to the office as I looked like I was going to bleed to death then had to go to urgent care per this Dr. however they said no way. Emergency room now. went and that wonderful Dr. fixed me with not further problems. Just my thoughts.....! Think about it......! read more

Have had good experiences in the past, but our dermatologist is no longer there. Was ok with trying someone new-this time, however, they failed to reach me to reschedule, then sent me multiple email reminders to come to my appt. (figured the phone call was an error) Sent my daughters to the appt. They were sent away with no regard or kind customer service. I called about our wasted trip and the phone staff put me on hold for 10 minutes, then berated me for not calling them back 2 months ago. NO APOLOGY for an hour and a half drive there and back for the appt they reminded/emailed us about repeatedly to not forget. NEVER GOING BACK. UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE. I do not recommend, and I am typically relatively easy to please.. Anyone have a recommendation for an office that is courteous? read more

This was my first time here. I was impressed with the staff behind the desk because they were professional, helpful on and off the phone, and attentive to my needs. I saw Heather and her smile immediately put me at ease. I'm not a fan of needles or doctors but I will go back to this clinic and recommend them to anyone. When I asked about another procedure, one staff member checked to see if the staff member was available and when she wasn't, she gave me her card and told me to call her and she would gladly answer my questions. I loved the friendliness of the person who took my blood pressure and the staff member who assisted the doctor. Why go anywhere else? read more

Went for a 6 month followup on a removed mole and the Dr seemed to remember me and pronounced all well. She took the time to answer other questions I had related to new blemishes and wrinkles. Referred me to an online source for a recommended product even though her office has it available as well. There was plenty of office help so you didn't have to stand in line. Had one of the technicians remove brown spots and growths in the past and he did a great job at a reasonable price point. I have been pleased each time I have gone there. read more

I went in for my annual skin check. Dr. Courtney Stene spotted a small red spot on my shin that I had not seen. Fortunately, she caught it as it was a basal cell. Dr. Meena Singh performed Mohs surgery and it looks fantastic now with barely even a scar. They both are very knowledgeable, professional and caring. Thank you! read more

No problems. Front desk staff was friendly and not too much paperwork. Got in to see the doctor quickly without much wait time. Didn't have to wait in the examining room long, and the doctor took time to explain everything and what the prescriptions were for. The prescription process is a little weird, in that they put it through a company called PruGen which requires me to create an account online. Haven't had to do this before, but I'm down with new things. read more

I had to wait 5 weeks to get an appointment to see Dr. Singh. I waited for an hour only to learn that Dr. Singh was over an hour behind. I asked why clients could not be contacted regarding this delay. You would have thought I was asking these desk attendants to fly me to the moon. After an hour I walked out and will never return. Doctors need to be held to the same courtesy that any other business is held to. They know when they get delayed and CAN notify patients of the delay by phone. I don't think they care. I overheard a patient come out and was instructed to return in 2weeks. The next available appointment was in 6 weeks. If you are that far behind, and are treating patients for skin cancer, get more doctors. Beware! read more

The first time I went in to see the dermatologist, I was told that I owed money. I didn't see how that was possible, but I paid it. Later, I got a bill and it was hand written on the bill that they had made a mistake and I didn't owe that money. Nevertheless, they did not send me the money back, nor did they give me credit for the money I paid. I sent in another payment. The next bill I received did not reflect the payment I made. I attempted to discuss this to no avail. The front desk staff and bookkeeping staff has always been defensive, never listening to my observations. I wanted a detailed list of services and what was covered by insurance and what was not. I never got that. Instead, they turned it over to collections. I have not had this experience in any of my other doctor's offices. I see that most people rate this office low and I now know why. I give them no stars. One has to give them one star, but if I could, it would be zero. read more

I went here for laser hair removal for two different areas on my body. Please note that they will give you 6 treatments but this will not stop the hair from growing. When asked about the results, it is said that it is in the brochure and you can purchase additional treatments. Please KMC Dermatology - sale the procedure for the number of times it will take to stop the hair from growing. I feel terrible because I also referred a relative and co-worker to this facility and they had the same results and all three of us do not want to go back for further treatments because of the results (my niece's hair actually grew back thicker on her face than before the procedure). Save your money and go elsewhere because I am sure you will have better results. Wendy is a very nice person that does the treatments but obviously these procedures do not work if I am 1 of 3 that am very unhappy with the results. It's not like it came back after a year, it came back IMMEDIATELY after the 6 treatments that we paid for. read more

I started by seeing a physician's assistant for acne treatment. The medication requires blood work after 6 months. I just assumed the blood work was all that was needed, not an office visit as well. If there was a problem, I would have had no issue with an office visit, but everything was going well. When almost out of my medication, I called to setup the blood work and make an appointment. Unfortunately with my schedule and the PA schedule, there wasn't anything for another month and a half. I went in and did the blood work in the meantime and showed up to my follow-up appointment yesterday. They "could not" refill my Rx until I saw the doctor- even though the blood work was done and normal two weeks ago!! I saw a different PA and the blood work wasn't given to her, so she had to go back to see the results. It was a complete waste of an office visit, especially because she was not prepared with the blood work results and had no idea why I was coming in. She told me during the visit that she wasn't going to be with the practice any longer-- and neither will I. In addition, the front desk staff is AWFUL. They are not friendly or welcoming at all.
