We stayed at Bonne Nuit during a quick weekend getaway from nearby Amsterdam, which is only 3 hours away by high-speed train. Worth it. Do it! It was our first time in Paris and it was everything we dreamed it would be. Bonne Nuit and its wonderful hosts, Jean-Luc and his wife, made it even more magical. We arrived around midnight, but Jean-Luc stayed up to personally greet us and give us a brief, whispered tour of the beautiful house. We loved it from the moment we saw the lion-head door knocker on the front door to the stone entry way to the winding, creaking staircase leading to the rooms. We stayed in the Enclos des Templiers room, which overlooks the inner courtyard. The details in the room--the exposed wooden beams, the stone sink, and the absence of a TV--made it simply perfect. The mattress and pillows were perfection. We woke up both mornings to a light breakfast, personally served by Jean-Luc and his wife in the dining area of the house. This is where we also met a couple from Florida and a girl from Hong Kong. Bonne Nuit obviously appeals to a global audience and we could see why! One of the best parts of Bonne Nuit's location is its proximity to the most amazing flea market we've ever been to. Mere steps away are some of the coolest, more interesting treasures you will find anywhere. This flea market is simply spectacular and is worth at least two days' time, if you have it. No joke. We bought several postcards here and Jean-Luc was kind enough to mail them for us after our departure since we left on a Sunday and the post office was closed. So sweet! True hospitality. The B&B is very close to the République metro stop and from there, you can easily criss-cross the entire city. A wonderful stay, through and through. You will definitely get your "bonne nuit's rest" here! ;-)

Although I had a rear side room, so no view of the street, I was very happy with it. The windows were able to open to the other building however you could have coffee by the window and the room was incredibly private. The blackout curtains were a game changer too! I slept peacefully each night and although the rooms aren't large, they use every inch of the space and was very well planned out. The breakfast was actually one of my favorite parts about being here. You are able to have breakfast in your room or downstairs in the breakfast room. The breakfast rooms decor was lovely and I looked forward to my breakfast every morning! Highly recommend, the staff is lovely and the hotel is clean and my favorite small hotel I have stayed at thus far in Paris. The location is awesome, there are many places to eat and shop (must go vintage shopping while in the area as well).

We had a double room with a small balcony that faced the street. It was perfect in every way. The employees were so kind and helpful and spoke beautiful English to our sad French (but we tried!). We did 4 days in Paris and 4 days in the Loire Valley, returning to Paris for our last night. After staying here during the first part of our trip, I cancelled our 2nd Paris hotel and rebooked this one for our last night. It was that perfect. We can't wait to return and without question we will stay here again. Many thanks to the staff at Hotel Caron de Beaumarchais for making our stay so lovely.

We paid the same in Rome for a fully air-conditioned room with ensuite where the bedding and towels were changed every day and we had a huge breakfast each day. In comparison we got bread and jam for our breakfast each day (home made from a bread machine it looked like) and tea and coffee (served outside in their under cover area, which was pretty fresh in the morning). Since the room had a stove and plates etc.. they would have been better off giving us the items to make our won breakfast as we went 50m down the road each day to buy fresh pattiserrie items (which cost less than 4 euros). I reckon it would be very hot in the room in the height of summer, alhtough it would be pleasant to have the door open and eat food prepared in the chalet (though there is no where to buy things in ermonenville except for the boulangerie/patisserie mentioned previously. A big problem for us were the huge iron gates. At face vaue it looked good as your car is parked very safely and there is a door in the gate if you come back late - but there was someone who came in at 4am every morning - and the sound woke us up every time, as the chalet was part of the outer perieter of the venue. Really for this venue to represnet value it should cost half waht we paid.
