After I made the mistake of calling Horizon to look at my oil burner with is hot water on demand I learned a good lesson I will never forget. I got up for work at 03:00 am on Tuesday July 14 only to find out I had know hot water to shower. The oil pump was tripped out. I pushed the reset and it tripped again. So i turn the power off to the oil burner and left a not for my wife that we had no hot water when she would get up two hours later for work. I left work early to meet the technician around 17:39. He was in the basement for 5 -10 minutes. He came up and said we need to replace the heater for around $10,000. He stated it is twenty years old and would probably spend around $4000 - $6000 to rebuild the pump and other miscellaneous work. He said they could have some here Wednesday July 15 @ 09:00 to give me a estimate for a replacement and work out financing. After he left I decide to get a second opinion and call Aram Ecker who had replaced my water supply line to the house over a year ago. Aram showed up around 08:55 to take a look at the oil burner. He disassembled the pump and other stuff and cleaned it all. He got it fired back up and running. He was here only 1 hour and 30 minutes. This cost me $225.00. I had a plumbing emergency over the weekend (naturally). My main sewer line backed up (after another plumber replaced the entire thing a few years ago). Some how roots made it into my new pipes. Mr Ecker took my call right away, but was heading out of town. He came once he was back, on Sunday, as promised and cleared the line no problem. He thanked me for waiting for him. While he was here, he also rebuilt the mechanism for my toilet, which was near death. His work is professional and reasonably priced, even on a Sunday. read more

My house is about 63 years old and still has cast iron piping in the basement, or should I say did. I had to have my plumber come out, due to my bathtub draining very slowly. It required having to cut the old piping out and replacing it with PVC piping. I got some estimates because I knew it was going to be a bigger job, even though I had every intention of going with my plumber. I was just doing my due diligence to find the best price. Let's just say, my guy was $500-$1000 cheaper than any other plumber that I found. A. Jackson Ecker has been my plumber for about 5-6 years now and I am so happy I found this guy. I was doing some genealogical research in Pottstown, PA when the toilet in my cousins apartment got backed up and overflowed. Blame it on one of the local mexican eateries ....stay tuned for one star review...que lastima...and what a mess! We called Mr. Ecker and he promptly arrived. This was late on a Tuesday evening. He put in this new water heater that does not work. It was over a month ago. He came back multiple times. to this day I still have a water heater that does not work without my back door propped open. When I came back from a short trip away to no heat and a house at 40 degrees, I panicked. Luckily, I called Mr Ecker who had a full schedule that day, but was willing to squeeze me ( a new client) in at the end of it. He came out and immediately got to work. I was hesitant to call a plumber because the last repair I had done cost me $1,000 just to replace two nozzles and a pipe in my garage. I called Ecker and he set up a time to stop by. He was on time and I paid $140.00 for a far more involved repair than the $1,000 repair. The other plumber told me it would cost at least $2,000 to do the repair. I am so glad Ecker is close and I now know he is reliable and won't over charge me. I strongly recommend Ecker! read more

This man's expertise saved me hundreds as his knowledge and skill allowed him to remove a broken portion of a pipe without needing to cut into the wall of my shower and he removed a broken threaded piece of pipe without damaging the threads. He then undercharged me so I paid him a little extra, which is a fraction of what he deserved. Rare to find such a skilled and reasonably priced professional. I am a former contractor and understand a little of the mechanical skill involved in what he did and I have performed open heart surgery and was impressed with his talent. On a Tuesday evening i called A Jackson Ecker plumbing because i has what i thought was a plugged sewer pipe. Hoping the get the best price they came back at me with a number i couldn't get from 3 other plumbers! He also said he could be there at 9 am the next day! Keep in mind that i had called him at 8pm the previous evening. He called me when he had gotten to the home and fixed the plugged line which only took him about 30 minutes.. Unfortunately for me he had also discovered that my sewer trap had collapsed and it was causing the pipes to backup through my outside grate. To take the customer service 1 step further him and his son were willing to not only fix it then and there.... But it was in the worst spot to fix. They couldn't get a backhoe in the area needed! What a headache this must of been!.... So they then dug it up by hand and worked all day on it in the snow/rain and got it fixed by the night time so that my tenant could then get back into the house and have a properly working toilet. This was all also handled by me over the phone because i live in NYC and couldn't be at the property.. If you ever have a problem these guys are your men! More than reasonable, extremely friendly and willing to do what they have to in order for you to have the plumbing that you need! Less than 24hrs and my sewer is now better than it ever has been and it looks great almost as if nothing had ever even happened!! All, beware this guy talks about running a business with integrity, however he is no better than other contracts who run the scheme. My story is the following, I saw reviews on Yelp and figured let me get service from someone who is local and small business owner. So I contacted Aram who sound friendly and willing to work with me with my problem. He told me he was unable to come out the same day because he has a few job.(Understandable) He told me he will come tomorrow however never told me a time and showed up 930am. He started the job right away without telling me and did explain what the problem was or providing me with a range for the cost. Instead he told me I can't provide quotes only once the job is complete I can tell you how it's going to be. On top of all that he takes his time and talks a lot on the phone therefore, he can bill you more. For this job, did other quotes and I learned he is not as competitive as he claims to be. So please be careful to anyone who want to go with his services. read more
