The young woman who finally came out from that back room with couches, acted like I was putting her out to ask questions. She was rude and unhelpful. I asked her where the Son impatience were in Petunia and she just pointed outside. I said " could you show me"? She seemed annoyed and took me outside and pointed to a few places and went back inside. I really hope the owner reads his reviews. I never see cars outside, and wonder if it's due to the young woman who seems to be here most of the time. I returned today to ask for the manager and she said he wouldn't be back till Monday.

Add to that, they have a great selection of coleus, million bells, sweet potato vine, bacopa, you name it. It's really worth the trip, if you plant a bunch. Six packs of annuals for $1.69. Gerber Daisies in 4 inch pots for $3.00, most annuals are $2.50 a pot. (These are 2007 prices) Amendment: 6-packs have jumped to $2.75 this year, though 4 inch pots are $2.75. I'll still come here, but not for everything. Sigh. They have a good selection of shrubs and trees, too. They also sell some nice garden knick-knacks. The staff is helpful, and you can find someone who can answer questions for you. Karen, the manager, is a sweetheart. It's a whole different experience, here. To add insult to injury I've also been told by someone else that these aren't even what I ordered but some other kind of tree. The worst part is that I considered Matt a family friend and had him come out to take a look at them. He basically told me that I was out of luck after I paid thousands of dollars. The least he could have done was replace them and charge me just for the labor but he did not offer anything. To say that I am disappointed and hurt would be an understatement.

Not only that but they sell at the lowest prices I can find offline for the feeds. Excellent! At prices like that it may cause me to keep some ducks in the near future! Aside from a great selection of pet food, feeds and treats, this center actually gets a lot less foot traffic than the other locations and local garden centers in the area. I can tell because the nursery isn't picked clean after a long weekend and the quality of their floral/herbal selections is fantastic. I just last week got 3 herbs - basil, tarragon and rosemary all HUGE for less than $25. They'll easily double their size again and have since I got them. As far as gardening goes, I would start here as they may not be the cheapest, but the selection and quality makes them somewhat price competitive. They also have anything you'd need to get started as a novice gardener and everything the seasoned green thumb would want. They wont have all of these brand name funky items like a HomeDepot garden center would, but hey if that is what you are seeking, this is not the place to find it. Very friendly and locally oriented staff is not pushy and helpful with questions as they are actually knowledgeable about the products (also very much not like Home Depot) Only downside is the weird hours. I am a 9-5er and sometimes I just barely miss the 5:30 close time .. well actually always so when I plan to get there during the week, I make sure to on Thursdays when they are open till 7 pm. Weekend hours are also weird, and weirder still for holidays when you'd assume they'd be closed on .. they are open... but only for a couple hours.. and when you'd expect they'd have such limited hours on other holidays - they are totally closed. I'll surely be frequenting Agway this summer!!!

It still looks great today, which reminded me to do this review, I'm so happy with the result and the experience with all the Lombardo staff. I wanted to match some stones they didn't have but Lombardo found them for me without any delay. In total I needed three deliveries and the first was made by the owner himself to check out what I was doing and assess the rest of the deliveries. The location is difficult with phone and power lines traversing from the street to my house directly above where I needed the next 16 ton delivery. Lombardo made it happen. The experience could not have been better from the first phone call with Emily to the final delivery. Emily was a pleasure to work with and made the entire experience stress free including coordinating deliveries exactly as I wanted them while keeping in touch along the way. They were helpful and speedy in terms of delivery. However, I am really not happy with the pricing. I felt like I had a clear understanding after two phone calls of the expected cost, so when I was charged almost DOUBLE that, I cannot say I was very pleased. I understand being under the minimum and expected fees, but not double. It's really unfortunate, but I probably would not use them again. Would I recommend? Maybe, but unless you're ordering 12 tons, it might make sense to go elsewhere for smaller residential needs.
