I started working with A.I.R. in the fall of 2021, and so far, I couldn't be more pleased with their services. I had been trying maintain and repair difficult spots in my lawn for several years with poor results, and I finally decided to open my wallet and see if a professional could do better. I selected A.I.R. because of their emphasis on organic lawn care, which has become particularly important since I live in Montgomery County which has banned the use of herbicides. The owner, Zack, gave me a very honest assessment of my lawn and the difficulty of maintaining grass on a shady hillside and backyard that experiences a lot of water flow during rainfalls. But he did provide a thorough fall program based on soil testing, including application of lime and fertilizer, and aeration and overseeding, and he gave me detailed instructions on how to ensure that the new grass grew. Following his instructions, the results were far better than anything I'd ever achieved on my own, and the new grass came in thick and healthy. Unfortunately, a few weeks later after everything was coming along nicely, the landscaping company that takes care of common areas in my community ran their heavy riding mower over my backyard after several days of rain, ripping up a lot of the new grass and leaving deep ruts. At my request, Zack worked aggressively with my community association's management company to provide a cost estimate for repairs, and within about a week A.I.R. was able to come out and fill and reseed the damaged areas (at community association expense). Unfortunately, by this time, it was too late in the season for much of the grass that was planted this time to grow, but that wasn't A.I.R.'s fault. I should also mention that communication with A.I.R. on scheduling and other matters has been very responsive - both Zack and Christiane in the office have been a pleasure to work with. We're very happy with the work Zack has done so far, and even more so with the way he did it. We contacted A.I.R. to revitalize our front and back yard lawns using organic methods and supplies. Our front yard contained many areas of thin soil, moss, many kinds of weeds, bald spots, shady areas under trees, and only very occasionally, grass. Our back yard slopes strongly, has to deal with water runoff, as well as most of the challenges mentioned for the front yard. Zack created a plan for our lawn and always kept us in the loop about when materials would arrive at our house, kept us advised of when the weather was going to allow him to accomplish his work, and came as promised. He was always friendly, and willing to answer any questions we had about what he was doing, and still got the work done. I have been searching for a 100% organic lawn care company, and finally found the best one! I found A.I.R. through the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection and their Green Business Certification list. Zach came out and took several samples to do a soil analysis, and called me to talk me through the results. Then he gave me a quote with all of his recommendations. Just today, he was aerating, over-seeding, top dressing with compost, and applying lime. I've had this done by several companies in the past, but this was the most thorough, careful job I've every seen. And as I was sitting at the kitchen table, I saw him using an ELECTRIC blower to clean up the debris, and I couldn't hear a thing. Bliss! A.I.R. was truly amazing to use! We have had some serious issues in the past with lawn services and figuring out how to repair the damage caused by a dead tree in the front yard. We first thought that sod was the only way to go, but the team at A.I.R. thought it would be best to take a different approach. They came out and took a soil sample before diagnosing the problem. After getting the results they took a balanced approach to the issue and recommended an organic compost, seeding, and mineral boost for the yard. A.I.R. has cut my lawn for the past four years and my yard has never looked better! It is great to come home to a freshly cut healthy lawn with all the edging and trimming done for all the flowerbeds and sidewalks. A.I.R. has been providing me exceptional service for a couple of years. They are an eco-friendly business, which is important to me. There are real and tangible benefits to their model. My wife and I have a lot of fur babies at our house and they love to play in the yard. A.I.R. Lawn Care has cared for my lawn for several years now. The service has always been efficient and, as advertised, environmentally friendly. The mowers he uses provide an exceptional cut, with the added bonus that they don't make much noise (because they're battery powered!). These are NOT puny electric mowers that struggle to get the job done. A.I.R. mowers are gigantic beasts that can tackle any project (my lawn has that thick Zoysia grass). I've used their service for years and have been pleased. But his year, my lawn isn't cut consistently (despite no rain) and it's impossible to get someone to reply to an email or on the phone to tell me why. It's VERY frustrating to experience this lack of customer service and for my landscaping not to be done, especially since I prepaid for the season and am one of Zach's earlier customers.
