I hired The Home Whisperer in June for some minor repairs around my house. The biggest items on my…read morelist such as re-installing my closet shelving and repairing an area by the window where wood had rotted/peeled went fine and I was satisfied with that. I was very disappointed and completely UNsatisfied with the following- excessive painting of random patches on my walls that I did not ask for. I asked for small holes from nails to be patched up but tons more random paint patches were added which made it now necessary for me to repaint the entire room. My house was left so dusty/powdery after this. It appeared that no attempt was made to leave the area clean. My next disappointment is the following caulking job that was done around my tub in the master bathroom. I will attach pictures because it is truly a slap in the face that someone would consider that job complete. I probably could have done a better job myself and I really am not handy at all. Rob came back to repair the caulking which still looks completely sloppy and to patch up some holes that were missed. (How were obvious holes missed but many random patches that I did not ask for were painted over? Doesn't make any sense.) Perhaps the worst part is that I was originally quoted approximately $850 for the work... to later be charged a "discounted" rate of $1,300. Rob said it really should have been around $1500 but since my quote was originally so much lower, he asked if we could agree to $1,300. I really don't have the energy or time to argue about this so I paid. I did not want this team back in my house because I simply cannot trust them. I feel I was completely taken advantage of and that this work was totally subpar.

I called David to ask if he might have the time to stop by our home to give an estimate for a mysterious leak in the ceiling of our front porch. Although he had worked all day at another location, he made the time to stop by our home in the early evening. I thought that he would give a quick look and be gone (as another carpenter had done). However, I was mistaken. He went to his truck to get his ladder and climbed up to look at the outside of the porch roof ~ and found a hole in the roof!! Apparently, a branch must have created the hole in a recent heavy storm. He told us his findings, and, because there was a call for rain in the next few days, he offered to go get the supplies to quickly patch the hole with some new shingles and tar. I was amazed that he would make such an offer after he had worked over 10 hours at another location during the day. The next thing I knew ~ off David went to get the supplies and a little an hour later all was right as rain. Now I can rest easily knowing that the hole is patched until we can get David to come back to replace the porch roof. This was an incredible experience, and it is so nice to know that there are incredible businesses such as this who will take care of our community when we need them. : ) Kimberly J.
