I am a complete omnivore, but Leslie was very careful to make sure people with dietary requirements or preferences had plenty of great food to eat. The snacks and complementary wine in the afternoon were also very nice. I had a personal mishap while I was there, and Leslie was both caring and helpful. The location is an easy walk from the waterfront and the museums in town. Many guests were there for a day or so before or after a cruise. It worked out very smoothly.

The offerings on the website truly matched what we experienced in our 4 night stay. The bed provided the best sleep I have had in my many years of work travels. The location was within walking distance of downtown restaurants and many sightseeing places. While the rooms have a vintage look they are quiet and spacious enough, each with its own bathroom (and yes I did take a lovely bath in the deep claw foot tub). You would be remiss to choose a traditional hotel over this beautifully managed home.

My husband and I were looking for a comfortable, inviting B&B to stay while visiting Juneau. Auke…read moreLake B&B is the ONLY way to go when staying in the area! Dale and Honey Bee Anderson, the owners of the gorgeous lake-front property just outside of downtown Juneau, know how to run the perfect B&B. This was my husband's and my first B&B experience, so we were nervous about feeling like we were staying in a stranger's home. This was unnecessary--Dale made us feel like we were a part of the family. He and his extended family run the B&B together, and they really think of everything, from the continental breakfast (Dale was kind enough to even pack us a breakfast/lunch for our day's adventures at our request), down to our room's amenities. They even provide a computer for complimentary Internet access, plus a canoe if you'd like to row out to the middle of the lake for a relaxing picnic! The house is beautiful and very clean. Our room was the gorgeous Lakeside Suite, which afforded us sweeping views of the lake and mountain in the distance. The rate was incredibly reasonable at $135 per night. My husband and I had a fantastic time at the Auke Lake B&B, and we'll certainly be back again!

We choose Beachside Villa because of it's great location and awesome views. Our room, the penthouse, had a private porch, which I love for being outside with a glass of wine in the evening. It also had this fabulous tub which 2 people can get in, so that was fun! The tub ended up being a real blessing because we were doing so much every day that we needed to soak sore muscles! There was also lots of nice hot beverages in the room.

Beautiful hallway that can seat hundreds of guests with window views of the outside water ways. We had an all you can eat buffet which included Dungeness crab legs and prime rib both of which were cooked perfectly. This was the only time on our 8th day tour that we had crab legs. Would Have preferred Alaskan king crab legs but these cost of Fortune due to overfishing at the turn into century. One person in our group of 40 went for a quick dip in the ocean water despite water temperatures in the 50s. Very cool person and was definitely the reason why I was more open to this place. I originally booked only one night because I wasn't sure.. immediately upon arriving and meeting the staff... I asked to extend my stay. If and when I return to Juneau, I'm definitely staying here again. The chores they're referring to aren't big things. They're just your daily things you already do. Definitely worth the price and definitely worth your stay. I won't lie... it was a bit difficult getting there due to the "steep hills" while dragging your 50lbs. luggage and a carry-on. Not a big deal. Very cozy, good area, no alcohol (which wasn't too much of a deal breaker) However, they're lenient with the hours of return, if you decide to go out and experience the night life. If there was 4.5 stars out of 5 I would give that. But they're not worth giving the 4 stars. It's honestly just the hours, which again, ISN'T a big deal... you're in Alaska! EXPLORE!!

The lodge is small but that's what makes it so awesome. No more than 40 people there at a time. Family style dinner served in the lodge offering grilled salmon was delicious. He sat in the tree by the grill patiently waiting until we all went inside and was allowed to climb down. Had a small souvenir shop and a short trail walk if you chose to do so. Lodge overlooked the Taku glacier. Awesome place. Flight back was a little shorter but offered different views and more flyovers of different glaciers. Highly recommend.
