I'm new to the neighborhood and was really looking forward to going into A Furry Tail because I have dogs and was hoping to support local business. Terrible experience. I got out of my car and was headed in when a dog came bounding out towards me. It gave me little regard and went past me trying to get at another woman holding a small dog a few yards behind me. The dog was not aggressive, more curious but was completely unrestrained. Then another dog came bounding out, also completely unrestrained. They both had gone out past me and **into the parking lot.*** There were no other customers in the store so I don't know if these were the owner's dogs or customer's dogs who had left them there. Either way, the dogs were in a dangerous situation as they could have been hit by a car. I went into the store where the first thing the tall man behind the counter said was, "you need a mask" as he waived his hand at me (in a rude manner). I actually had a mask and was holding it up to my face and then he realized it I guess and didn't say another word...not thank you for coming in, nothing, just ignored me. Then he started ***yelling full decibel*** from inside the store at the dogs, who had surrounded the poor lady still holding her small dog in the parking lot. He didn't leave the store to go restrain them, he just yelled extremely loud at them. I moved towards the part of the store that has the leashes and sweaters and also houses the grooming tubs and saw another employee, a woman. I asked her a question about pet adoptions. She showed no sign that she was glad to see me in the store, nothing. She blankly answered my question. The woman with the small dog entered the store and was apparently there for a grooming appointment. She looked upset that she still had dogs following her in while she was holding her small dog near her body. I moved so she could get by and then went back towards the entrance where the cash register was. I saw the original dog that had first bounded out of the store towards me and thought I knew what breed it was and asked the tall man, who was standing at the cash register, "is this a..." and he immediately started waiving his hand in my face back and forth as if to shut me up. ***He literally AIR-SLAPPED me back and forth about seven times!*** I was shocked. Apparently he was listening to a voice message on what looked like an old school speaker voicemail machine. I had no idea of that when I started to ask my question or I would have waited (he didn't have a phone to his ear). But honestly, it was a voice mail...and I was a live customer in the store. It was SO rude. I have NEVER been treated that rudely by a MAN, let alone a business owner/employee. It was shocking. It's like the customer is a complete inconvenience. I also didn't like that they would let either a customers dog or their own dog run completely unrestrained out into parking lot traffic where they could be hit by a car. I would NEVER put my dogs in danger like they did...and then not to even restrain the dogs as they surrounded that other woman with her little dog...she looked very unsettled. And to yell out loudly like that in the store, and very near to me, really hurt my ears. Just so RUDE. Rude, rude, rude man. I am trying to be fair and give at least two stars because it looked like they had some nice things stocked. That's all I can say as I didn't stay after he AIR-SLAPPED me. Needless to say, I will be going somewhere else in town to buy my supplies and grooming. read more
