Sent pictures& measurements. A tech called me back and told me his recommendations. We ordered the parts and scheduled same week. Very fast. Daniel came, showed up right on time (even a little early). He greeted me, introduced himself and got to work. Very friendly. He made it look brand new and I couldn't be happier. Hi, after much research on wood stoves we spoke to Frank at A Fireplace Store about February 2023. We had decided on a Blaze King Ashford 30.2. After Frank learned that we heat primarily with wood, he suggested the Blaze King Princess 32. And WOW after about 6 + months of use are we extremely happy with our Princess. We had a little issue crop up, and in less that 24 hours Joni's husband Kirk took a look at the wood stove and took care of the issue. This was all done in less than 24 hours! Also, check out their Energy Logs. Buy a few logs. ( I think they will sell some just so you can try them out.) Do Not Confuse them with Duraflame logs. Energy Logs are fantastic in so many ways. They produce heat for a long time and they burn down to almost nothing. TLDR: Super unprofessional installation, many mistakes, damage to hearth bricks, gap in flue, still can see light through the ceiling where flue box meets roof, and their responses and lack of care or interest in performing the installation and fixes correctly makes us have a bad taste in our mouth from this store and service. FULL REVIEW: Our first visit to the Fireplace store was good and helpful. We knew what we wanted (Blazeking) and they were more helpful than other fireplace stores in the area. Come upon installation, one installer was sent (they said two would come). The one installer was out of shape and had difficulty performing tasks without asking for help from us to get on roof and help change the flue pipe. They damaged our hearth bricks, the wood in the ceiling, and the stove pipe was crooked and a big gap in the back where the flue meets the stove (at least 1/4 inch!). We also had a leak in our roof after they replaced the flue and "chimney". First few firings we woke up to smoke in the house from a backdraft not accounted for with flue/mountain location and installation. They came back to straighten the flue (unsuccessfully) and the owner left a tube of furnace cement to caulk up the big gap in the flue. This cement has come off and caused our carbon monoxide alarm to go off every time the fire dies down too low. It took two different visits because of a leak in the roof after the change in flue. The gap still remains and upon calling the fireplace store, Joanie, The owner said that we should get our own Silicone and seal it and see if the problems still exists. If I could give a zero I would. Joni Koontz, owner and supposedly "good christian" is the absolute worst I have ever dealt with. As she hides behind the bible she is very hypocritical. I asked to have my chimney cleaned and was told I was on the schedule to have it done. I asked for some additional work to be done to help me with future installation of another stove. According to her staff she copped an attitude because I did not want to pay her to do installation and decided to cancel my chimney cleaning. That's what I call a good christian........... Went to the store and explained what I wanted but they told me that they don't sell that style anymore since it's been discontinued so I found one online and had it delivered. When I called here for a fan kit the lady was upset that I didn't buy from her and told me it would never fit and if it did fit that it would be the first in the high desert. She was very abrupt and rude and even hung the phone up on me when I asked for other parts. Well I am happy to say I am the first in the high desert with my striker model insert and I would never utilize the service of someone so pompous and degrading. What ever happened to common courtesy? I was somewhat hesitant to visit this store because of the less than desirable reviews. We did visit even though they did not have the exact model we want I must say I was very impressed by the selection available. Donna was very helpful and was able to answer ALL our questions and was able to offer some alternative suggestions that we had not thought of.
