There was lots of peeling paint that needed to be scraped off, and many areas that needed lots of extra priming and patching, as well as a board that needed to be replaced. The attention to detail, steady and detailed workmanship, tidiness and professionalism of the crew blew me away. They were friendly, polite and professional when spoken to but otherwise kept to the painting. The two men were at my house for 2 weeks, but were so quiet and respectful of my privacy and space while I worked at home, I almost forgot they were here. They didn't leave a trace when they were finished ... not a speck of paint or trash anywhere, and were careful not to trample the plants around the house! I'm not used to being this impressed. Truly an awesome experience. Manuel, the owner, was great to work with, provided an affordable and fair price, especially for true custom painting. There were no additional charges for small repairs and he provided a port-a-potty for his men at no charge to me. He also helped me with colors, which turned out exactly like I wanted, and stopped by several times throughout the project to see if I had any questions. (There are a lot of companies/contractors out there who try to take advantage of their customers. It was refreshing for me to find a couple who were truly impressive and honest.) I chose Local San Diego Painting. Chad came out last week to review the three turrets which each having 3 rows of rough-wood trim - roughly 12', 14' and 22' from the ground and one turret was over a sunken bar area, so access above was tricky. (The surrounding ceiling is all wood, which we did not want painted.) His estimate was very reasonable and the two man crew did an excellent job. They were both very professional, and nice. They started and finished this job yesterday. They even stayed an extra hour past their normal hours to finish the job. I will not hesitate to use them at this house again and any of my rentals in the future.

They didn't ask me to pay in advance for the paint, and just showed up on the agreed-upon date, made a few minor repairs, then painted the giant big room and left. They asked to use my personal bathroom a few times which i found odd as i have hired several contractors who worked longer hour jobs who never asked to use my bathroom before. I also found them using my kitchen sink to watch their rags, which really peeved me because they did not ask for my permission first. They left my place a mess, left several supplies in my garage without letting me know in advance that someone would not pick it up till the following day. They left for the day without letting me know they were finished, which was an inconvenience as i wasn't sure if i should stick around or wait for them to come back. This time around, HOA told us to paint our house. Well, yeah! Da humble abode severely needed a fresh coat of paint. Chica went on a search and found McCarthy Painting. I followed up and checked reviews. They're legit licensed, bonded and do good work. Fast forward to the first day Armando and Andres started the job. They consulted with me and confirmed the features of the dwelling and the specific colors set for them from Sherwin Williams pallet for this model. Shout out to the lone faux shutter feature in da back of da house. *rolling eyes*. These guys communicated clearly the job and the specifics to be done. They explained to me the way they will paint the eaves and gutters (a little different from the original paint patterns). I'm good with that. That actually matches what all the neighbors did with their new paint jobs. Armando and Andres got right to work starting with the power washing for day one. The humble abode might have sighed a great sigh of relief when they did this. Gone are the tree sap, chimney soot, dust and pollen stains. Next day, cover up and protect. Then next 2 days paint all large surface areas and most of the trim. Day 4 finish all trim and doors. Last day, touch ups. These guys work hard and thoroughly. We are so happy and relieved to have the house painted right with the correct premium paint - Sherwin Williams. Looking over the humble abode now... She looks polished and beautiful. Take that HOA!
