I can't say enough good things about Maddi's experience at A Dog's Tale! From the moment we walk through the door, the staff treats her like family. Maddi absolutely loves her time there--she comes home happy, tired, and full of excitement every day. The team truly understands her playful and sweet personality, and it's clear they go above and beyond to make her (and all the dogs) feel loved and cared for. Great daycare spot! The staff love dogs and are great with the humans too! My dog has been coming for 3 years and can't get enough!

We were vacationing in the area in our RV and wanted to have a long shopping day at the Outlet Mall and Kittery Trading Post and then dinner with friends at Robert's Maine Grille. Our pup is old and we didn't want to leave him all day and evening by himself in the trailer. Thanks to Amy, we could enjoy ourselves knowing that our old pup was being cared for and even having a good time. Our dog is a rescue and very anxious, but when we arrived to pick him up he was completely relaxed and comfortable with his wonderful caregivers. We highly recommend A Dog's Tale. read more

Our Dog Cooper has being going to A Dog's Tale for years and LOVES it there! He is VERY excited to go!!! All we have to say is "Do you want to go see Amy?" And Cooper is out the door! We also use A Dog's Tale for all Coopers grooming needs! He has a SPA day once a month there! Our soon also takes his dog Nola there for grooming as well! From when my dog was 5 months old until we moved away at age 3, she went to Dog's Tale 3-4 days a week and enjoyed many a vacation there while my wife and I traveled. It pained us to have to take our pup away from all her friends when we moved away from the Seacoast. Bob, the owner, and all the employees were great. They treated Roxy as if she was one of their own pets. They helped us out a great deal by allowing us to bring her on daycare on days when they weren't even open except for boarding. This was especially helpful while we were remodeling our house and our place was not a safe area for a pup to be running around. The facilities aren't as flashy as some other daycares but all our dog wanted was a place to run around and dogs to play with. I would rather have the reasonable prices Dog's Tale charges, than the fancy but no more functional facilities at $8-10 more a day. It still breaks my heart that we had to take Roxy away from her best friend Rebel. read more

We love this place. The owner is a super nice guy and all the folks that work there LOVE dogs. We are so sad that our boy, Toby is too old to go back. When he was younger he would come home dead tired from all the play. They are super selective too. From what I've seen only nice dogs and nice owner. I agree with the other poster when they said, "Can't even bother to call a paying customer back." I think this owner already has enough cliental that he really doesn't care to add any additional customers. Our dog did daycare there each week and boarding occasionally. Long story: When we left our pup there last time...when we picked him up the lady said, "Oh, he was a little nervous." I asked A LOT of questions. Our dog is family to us. We wanted to understand and we wanted to make it better. She started to back track and indicated it wasn't 'that bad' of a situation. Fast forward to a month later. I call to check on drop off/pick up times for boarding and they said, "WOW, we never thought we'd see you again after what happened last time!?" Ummmmmmm...WHAT HAPPENED? They said our dog was flipping out going into the crate, biting at the crate, barking, defacating on himself....etc. ??? NO ONE TOLD ME ANY OF THIS. My dog was "nervous." That's all they said. And they made me feel like it was around the other dogs. I never ever heard anything about the crate. *THE OWNER* definitely does not have "THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT ATTITUDE." He made it sound like WE MISUNDERSTOOD his employee. There was no misunderstanding. The situation was not addressed with us. So, like the other person said, "They don't bother to call back." I think it's because they don't have 'normal' business practices. They are right, they do things how they want and when they want. I wouldn't bring my dog here for daycare. I wouldn't bring my dog here for boarding. I do believe they choose favorites. I worry my dog wasn't taken care of the way others were. I want to add that our dog is 5 and we have NEVER EVER EVER had an issue/complaint/concern about our dog EVER before taking him to Dog's Tale. I highly recommend Kittery Animal Hospital. They seemed overly flexible and helpful. Also the last two times our dog came back from there he was sick. One time, he got better within a day or two. However, the second time we had to take him to the vet and the vet said it is most likely that our dog contracted something at the place we boarded him. read more

My 1 year old yellow lab absolutely loves this place! As soon as I mention the word day care she is out the door anxiously waiting by the car door. When I turn onto the street she transforms into a big yellow ball of energy because she knows it is close. When we exit the car she bolts to the door of the day care and then launches herself up to the counter, wagging frenetically with a smile on her face. This day care is truly exceptional, if by my dogs reaction alone, but the people there are very friendly and courteous and always have a smile on their face. We have even boarded our pup here and they were very accommodating in terms of helping with meds that had to be given to her while she stayed. They have an inside and outside play area, plus they post photos of what your dog was doing during the day. On her first birthday they took a picture with party regalia and all and gave us a wonderful gift basket with a card for our pup. Not to mention they offer grooming. If your in need of a good dog daycare or boarder check these guys out. They have excellent rates and again the staff is wonderful. read more

We can't say enough about a Dog's Tale. We were referred to the establishment by someone who we trust and it has worked out wonderfully. We not only use A Dog's Tale for overnight boarding, but we send our dogs to "daycare" a few times a month. Previously, when we would drop the dogs off at other providers, the dogs were more than hesitant to go to the caregiver. Not so with the staff at A Dog's Tale. Our babies actually seem to be excited to go and don't give us a second look as the staff takes them to the play area. When we pick them up they are happy and actually act like they want to stay. The staff there is wonderful and they genuinely love the animals. They are extremely friendly and understanding. We would not hesitate to recommend A Dog's Tale to any of our friends or family. read more

My dog is fearful of people so I was nervous about taking him to daycare but the owner reassured me that he would be fine! My dog absolutely loves this place! He jumps over me in the car just to get in the door as fast as he can! I would highly recommend this place!! They treat my baby like their own! read more

They can't even bother to call you back after 2 attempts even. Not sure why I bothered the second time but I figure if they ignore the paying customer then imagine how much the dogs are ignored. read more
