I was told that I could come and clean up at 0800 the next morning, that changed, the owner said the night of the event "i would never tell anyone that", I was told I could get dressed at the venue after decorating, since we only had 2 hours from decorate to start time, the dressing room door was locked the whole time we were there. I had to drive 20 minutes back to home to get ready and arrived at my event later than planned, I was told we could use the pool area, so I bought table cloths and decorated the pool area tables, and then, the light was turned off during my event so people would not go outside and would not want to in the dark. I was told the bartender would be included, luckily I had the text that I showed the owner because that was forgotten as well. The bartender was not rude, but was very dry in attitude like he didn't want to be there.... Never met a bartender that didn't have a great personality. Isn't that how you make tips?? Overall, good space, the customer service is lacking.

They had a different area to relax, eat, and taste all the specialty wines and liquors. The atmosphere was nice and beautifully decorated. Items were displayed nicely with access to all the chefs and owners. Within the center of it all was a market place where you could purchase those speciality items and take them home to enjoy later. The tastings were broke down into two different sessions. Which worked well with the overflow of the crowd and both crowds had fresh foods to sample. I understand issues happen, but missed commitments and lack of verification made this far harder than it should have been. I would be cautious booking unless you're fully comfortable with the iffy refund terms and the risk of having to escalate to your card company.

Soooo much amazing history. The house is absolutely beautiful. A lot of work has been put into it to keep it this well preserved. "The house was built in 1840 by Joseph Chalmers, the District Attorney for Marshall County. He was the father of James Ronald Chalmers and H.H. Chalmers and uncle to Jefferson Davis. It was designed as a two-storey, hip-roofed house. It was purchased by E. B. Horn in 1900. He paid $10.00 down in December of 1899 and remaining balance of $690 on January 1, 1900. Horn turned the house, which was facing East, to face North after his wife refused to live in the house because it faced a hog farm. He also redesigned it in the neoclassical architectural style. Shortly before World War II, in 1938, the house was purchased by the McAuley family. Mrs. McCauley was asked how she liked the house and her reply was "This will do me". What started as the "this will do me" house became Thistledome." It was acquired by Jill and Todd Maxwell in 2012. The couple turned it into a restaurant/coffee shop/venue."
