Recently ordered a large bento order from here for my Daughter's birthday party. The ease of ordering on line was so convenient. Prices and pictures were very clear. The website was very user friendly. I selected and paid for everything all through their website. Prices for their made to order bentos were very reasonable. I believe in being realistic with food prices with cost of ingredients and ever rising inflation yet their prices cannot be beat. It's not the cheapest but a deal in terms of quality, freshness and reliability. The food was very delicious. We ordered a total of 70 bentos. We selected a bento that had fried fish, spam, hot dog and teriyaki chicken. Portions were BIG, fish was still crispy and the chicken was very juicy. Decided to write another review since the first one was based on their customer service. Gave 5 stars specifically for the taste of the food which was for a funeral, they have 3 options. We chose funeral bento 3 since it offered a nice variety and couldn't respond on taste since I just got to try it for the first time after the funeral, everything was tasty, lots of compliments from our guests so have recommended this company highly. Having to taste the food first is way better than word of mouth since everyone has their own take on what is good. So try them out! Order my Thanksgiving Turkey, First time here, use to go to Zippy's. The difference is the Turkey is ready to eat, you don't have to warm it up. Everything was really fast 10min in line drive thru. Very organized, a lot of people directing traffic. They even had a live band playing music. Load everything in your car. Pick up was at the Okinawa Center in Waipio. I've catered with them 2 times already. The first time was back in 2022. I ordered their bentos and had it delivered to my home for my drive-by baby shower. The second time was just last week for my daughter's 2nd birthday party at a party venue. Food was delivered on time at scheduled time. Food was hot, fresh, packed well. This is fn ridiculous. Pick up time was at 2pm. Just passed the puck up site at 150 and the line of cars is crazy. A long line of cars on the main road and a long line of cars across the street. Still across the street, 45 minutes later. Noone is moving. Wow! I made it across the street hour 5 minutes later. I'm about to lose it. I'm thirsty, it's hot, I'm hungry and pretty soon I need to go to the bathroom...what's goring on...there better be a turkey package with my name on it! That's all I'm gonna say! Hour 15 minutes have passed and still waiting in a long line of cars...to be continued... I'm back after waiting 1 hour 20 minutes pass my turkey pick up time, I finally got my food. I'm excited to share this review. The Catered Experience food was exceptional, and the customer care was even more. I was planning our company Thanksgiving Luncheon for 45 people and was told about a special that The Catered Experience was having if I signed a contract by a certain time. So this special was $26.35 pp for all Thanksgiving fixings plus prime rib and fish. It was July, I got their email via their website and emailed my Thanksgiving order not needed until November. Wendy from Customer Service replied promptly, got the contract to me, accepted my cc payment and we were all set, can't get any easier than that! Wendy always replied right away to my questions, and was great at communicating any of my special requests. The day before our delivery was set, I had to increase the headcount and Wendy happily obliged. Rafael was our delivery person, out of courtesy, he called to let me know that he was on his way. He brought all of the food upstairs to our office in an insulated rollaway to keep the food hot. He introduced himself, and placed our food on the counters while he named each dish, the sauces and explained what they are for. The prime rib was the highlight, it was warm and we requested to have it pre-cut for easy serving. This prime rib was juicy and tender enough to use a pIastic knife. Pretty decent for prime rib that wasn't cut fresh from under a warmer. It was fall apart soft, and had a nice browning to it, just the way I like it. The crust on the prime rib was flavorful, and not salty, each piece had some of that delicious crust. There was so much food, the typical turkey, stuffing, gravy, ham, all very good, the best thanksgiving catered food I've had. The macadamia nut crusted fish with ginger sauce wiped out, another favorite of the party. I ordered for 45, but could have probably fed an additional 10 people. I normally plan our Thanksgiving lunch at work, and we have it at the office most times. With The Catered Experience, they brought the food upstairs, and that was a pleasant surprise. I usually have to meet the caters downstairs with a pushcart to bring the food upstairs myself. The price $26.35 pp, is what I would typically pay for our company Thanksgiving meal WITHOUT the prime rib and fish. Can't beat the food, of the 17 years planning our parties, this was the most value for the price. Amazing customer service! I needed a caterer to make food for 100 guests for a homeless shelter dinner during the holidays and reached out to a handful of caterers on Yelp. A Catered Experience was the first to respond to my request and emailed me a pdf with their menu options. They were the most reasonably priced and were able to customize in order to fit my very small budget, plus they deliver! I paid $40 to have my 6 pans of food delivered to Kaka'ako which saved me so much time and energy since I'm in town and their facilities are located in Waipio. The delivery fee is dependant on the location of your event, but if you're ordering a massive amount of food, in my opinion it's worth every penny. Both Wendy and Jodie are wonderful to work with because of their fast response time to emails and they're on top of everything from order intake to contract to payment and delivery. Thanksgiving meal 2020 was purchased by my daughter from here because this is the only Zippy's turkey that comes hot. You do although have to heat up the mashed potatoes, stuffing and gravy. She also purchased a roll of maki sushi which you have to slice yourself. The meal also included a package of King's Bakery sweet dinner rolls, cranberry sauce and a warm pumpkin pie. It came with instructions for heating for stove top or microwave...I chose the easier route. Everything was yummy! Turkey sliced up beautifully and was tasty. A tip is to microwave everything except gravy... heat that on the stove (stir frequently) and it will be piping hot thus keeping all the other foods you another it with hot as well. Dinner for me was a roll with leftover turkey, stuffing, mayo, cranberry sauce and salt and pepper!!! I kept the turkey in the oven for a couple of hours on warm with the plastic barrier between the foil and turkey to prevent the foil from discoloring things and sealed the foil well around the pan... no drying out! Later after my nap I cut everything up, froze the carcass for jook making later and we will proceed to eat turkey in various ways this weekend. Gone are my days off cooking for 2 days! I believe there's an affiliation with Meals On Wheels (MOW) as pick up during COVID times was manned by MOW at the Okinawan Center... it went very smoothly and efficiently; we drove through, popped open our car trunk, and they placed it in and we drove home! Amazing! We ordered two prime rib dinners for Christmas and we have nothing but raves!! First of all, ordering was super easy; a truly pleasant experience because Remy and another woman (sorry! Missed her name!). These two women were so nice! Pick up was easy, considering there were only a small number of employees, but they were nice too. The food...omg, DELICIOUS! Guests were complimenting how 'ono the prime rib was and although it is advertised to feed 10, it fed much more than that because it was meaty and cooked to perfection! The sides were great too, and it was so much that everyone took home food. What was nice was getting called by Remy to ask if we got everything- we did, but what a nice call to inquire! This was way over my budget and I explained to Wendy what kinds of food we wanted and that our budget was under $1000 if possible. I swear we went back and forth more than 15 times trying to get the right food for the right cost. After about 20 emails later, we decided to go with white rice, tossed salad, fried noodles, mochiko chicken, & garlic chicken for about $860!! On the day of the party, they arrived on time with lots of extra napkins, plates, & utensils. The food was great!! A lot of our guests loved the mochiko chicken and the garlic chicken sauce! We went with the Hawaiian food menu and was told the food was ono! It was hectic for me during the party so didn't get to eat much but had plenty of leftovers and I've been enjoying tasty laulaus, Zippys Teri beef, and super sweet fresh pineapple all week! They let you take home the left overs which is awesome, we brought take out containers so guests could take home a plate and we still had lots of leftovers. They also allow you to bring in alcohol, pupus and desserts. They even plated everything we brought in nicely for us. The banquet captain, Richard, made sure everything ran smoothly and he did a great job! The staff were also friendly and attentive, I saw them busing some tables and throwing away plates which I didn't realize they do.
