"Da Special" - Noodles, boneless kalbi, shrimp tempura, kabayaki sauce, honey mayo
    Rod U.

Every successful transient foodie establishment offers something unique and well made. From the ethnically authentic to creative fusion to the one trick pony perfecting local favorites, they give you a reason to return. Reecie B's uniqueness is blending dessert level sweetness into Island favorites circa 1990. We're talking uncooked noodles seasoned with soy and sugar, microwaved then topped with fishcake and green onions. Starchy, gummy, ahhh 1990's. Top it with a sweet soy marinated but extremely over cooked, tough, rubbery boneless kalbi (remember, if it wasn't well done, it was raw back then) and soggy shrimp tempura where the oily coating is 500 percent more volume than shrimp. It and the noodles are doused with an extremely sweet HONEY mayo that overpowers everything. Like honey walnut shrimp exploding on all your food. 2025 prices. Very friendly, family service. If the nostalgia and sweetness of a bygone era appeals to you, this may be your spot. For better or worse, it no longer appeals to me.

Went to the Jolene's by the bay night market and made my way around the food truck vendors. When you're hungry, everything looks good and smells good! LOL! By the food display, everything did look good, so I went for the kalbi fried noodles. It was tasty, noodles on the warm to cold side so went home to microwave a bit. The Kalbi was little dry and not too tender but had good taste. There was some kind of dressing on this plate that gave it a good taste. The special was a Kalbi noodle with lemonade for $25. Pricey? Maybe. I don't know. I had the green river lemonade which was a speciality lemonade so my price came out $27. The green river lemonade was great tasting but I didn't like all the lemon seeds coming up through the straw! do I drink that too? They had a short line but it moved fast.

I was really looking forward to trying Reecie B's. They had a display of all their food in front of the truck, and I decided to try the bang bang shrimp with fries. The sweet girl taking orders asked "are you ok with heat" I nodded and asked to make the fries extra crispy and she said no problem. After paying, she handed me my ticket and I patiently waited for my plate. It didn't dawn on me when I saw someone bring a bag a fries to the truck after waiting 10 minutes, that perhaps they didn't have fries in the truck and they had to get fries. 10 minutes later, my number is called and the boy handing me my plate says "sorry about the wait". I asked for a fork and headed for a spot in the shade. Yes, it took 20 minutes for crinkled fries and fried shrimp. I sat down, opened the plate and was very disappointed. The fries were cold and soggy, the shrimp were still crispy, but not at all hot, and there was barely any sauce. The 2 stars? well yelp doesn't do half stars, but the order-taker bumped this up from a 1 star experience.

Frozen fries deep fried. Frozen tempura shrimp. $22.00 next time I'll go to Coastco and buy the entire bag.

Stumbled on Reecie B's Food Truck during a "What the Truck" event in Waikele. The Furikake Seared Ahi Katsu was simply amazing! No wonder why this place is so popular.

Really good fries and chicken, i've had it twice and paid $16 the first time and $17 the second time at two separate events.

Okay okay, this food truck is the truth. I usually don't like eating at food trucks but this place got me convinced that there are hidden gems on wheels. I got the Mean Plate which is fries, noodles, kalbi, and shrimp tempura. The price was a little steep but it was worth it in my opinion. The noodles had lots of flavor, the shrimp tempura was perfect crisp and soft meat that melted, and the fries were a perfect crisp. The sauce was ono and it infused with the fries. My only complaint is that i didn't have more. The kalbi was a bit overcooked but it still tasted good. The service was great, aunty was super nice. This is a good spot if you're looking for something fast and lots of flavors. Overall food was 4.8/5. I would go back here and try their fries and poke.

I saw Reecie B's at the Honolulu Night Market in Kaka'ako. I had their D.T.S. which was Boneless Kalbi atop a bed of Fried Noodles atop a bed of French Fries.

This food truck has become our favorite in the past year. We've seen this truck at events like Full Moon Market at Residence Inn, What The Truck at Waikele, and recently at the Kapolei Hale Christmas block party. This time around we try to get their early right after they set up. They always have a line and sell out. The portions are big and worth the price! If you like Hawaiian Filipino food like us, definitely look out for this yellow truck. It's going places ... hopefully in the direction of a retail spot and until that day comes, we will check it out. Can't wait to see you at the next event.

Tried this food truck for the first time at the What the Truck's event at Waikele and had the furikake seared ahi katsu. It looked Ono so I thought I'd try it. It tasted good, but shortly after just eating a few pieces, I had the worst food poisoning ever. Threw up on my drive home and had the runs (sorry tmi). Maybe it was just a bad batch since it was close to their closing time ‍

Ordered the DTF and it was so good. It was savoury and the portion was okay, however it needed more meat on top. Added to my go-to's.

When I found this food truck, I immediately wanted to stop by and see what the hype was about. I visited about 30 minutes before closing. The only thing they had run out of was the chop steak and one other protein, which wasn't too big of a deal for me. My eye was on the beef stew. Growing up in a Filipino household, I knew this dish as "caldareta." My dad would make this for me all the time. I asked for a bowl to go so I could enjoy it for dinner later. The first bite instantly sent me back to my family's home kitchen, where I would come home from school and find a pot of beef stew waiting for me. What I love about Hawaii is that it has a blend of cultures that I truly appreciate as a foodie, and experiences like this feel like a nostalgia tour. Thank you for this delicious meal. It made me miss my mom and dad a little more than I usually do. Food not only nourishes us, but also brings us back to a moment in time. I thank Laverne's for that.
