We just had lunch today at A Casa do Pino. There were 8 of us for lunch. Most restaurants in Italy you can get by with a little Italian, this place, our waiter who claimed to be the owner spoke no English. The food was okay, we ordered three caprese salads, a grilled fish dish, a beef dish, and a pizza along with drinks. They brought an extra beer we didn't order and an extra pasta dish which we didn't order and refused it. When it came time to pay the bill they added an extra 18 euros saying that the cover charge was more and over charged for the pasta dish. We were in a hurry to meet our ride that we didn't have the time to try to clarify and the language barrier was an issue. The experience left us feeling taken advantage of and squeezed for a few more euros. Not a pleasant experience. The icing on the cake was that our lunch came out in phases where we didn't eat at the same time. Lunch was over 90 minutes for an outdoor cafe. Finally, we didn't realize when they sat us at a table that large buses drove by literally less than a foot from our table. Catania was a disappointment. read more
