Long story short due to the front desk staffs miscommunication. I never got it. I normally will give a place more than the benefit of the doubt. But I definitely had 3 bad experiences here. I pretty much used them as a last resort. And once I cut my trip short to return to get my dog. On the last pickup I got my dog back and he had dried up poop on his bottom and legs. This never even happened anywhere. So what they did to him I have no idea. I guess they never let him out of the cage? The people they have here just come in and that's it. I don't think they really care about the pets at all. This is the short version of my experience here.

The thoughtful nature of the space itself and the incredible staff really set this place apart. They are professional and kind, and all seem to truly care about the dogs and their humans! Additionally, Ozzie has severe food allergy so it has been wonderful being able to trust that the staff at Best Little Dog House will take care of him well and ensure that he doesn't come into contact with anything he shouldn't while he's there. The cage free nature of the boarding setup in particular is welcome as he is not used to sleeping in a kennel and prefers being cuddled up in a blanket with a trusted human nearby. It's such a relief to know that when he is at Best Little Dog House he is having a great time and being well treated. He loses his mind with excitement when we tell him he is getting to "go play!" and always eagerly runs to the front door when he gets out of the car! If you are looking for a small dog focused daycare and boarding facility in the Montrose area, look no further than Best Little Dog House!

Wish I had taken the 1 star reviews more serious & my dog would probably be alive today…read more I had a 2.5yr old healthy Rottweiler that I dropped off for the 4 week board and train program to work on leash pulling and reactivity. Within 24 hours of his drop off I got a call from the owner saying verbatim, "I'm such a terrible person. I'm so sorry, I let your dog out to use the bathroom and I came inside to use the bathroom really quick and when I came back out he was unresponsive... I'm the worst person in the world I know I'm panicking. He may have had a heat stroke... or no, I don't even think it was that. Maybe a heart attack. I don't know, he was healthy yesterday we even worked on some protection training with him. He could do anything. He was awesome I'm so sorry". My dog was two and a half, healthy, & we went for hour long walks often. The necropsy ruled the death was from heat stroke (I.e. negligence on behalf of the trainer in 100+ degrees within 24 hours of drop off) Bring your dog here at your discretion but I recommend going anywhere else if you care about your dog because I've been crying everyday and regretting I even found this place since July 1st.

One of my fur baby is usually timid and scared, but she loves coming here to see Miss Ruby. She listens to what you want and she makes great recommendations. She is also very gentle and patient with our dogs. The Rover Oaks staff members are all very friendly and they have a very organized online system to enter any immunization records and you can also view your pup's pawgress report. They also offer daycare and boarding services. It also looks like they may offer training as well. Every time we come here, all dogs are eager to go in and are all happy when they are there, so it seems that they are doing things right here!

Our dogs are on a diet where they have a mixture of dry and wet food that require refrigeration or freezing. That was no problem at all for the owner to accommodate. The fellas looked well cared for when my son picked them up! My son forgot to check for the dogs blankets when he picked them up and Brian kindly drove them down to the city where we live so that the dogs would have them. I will definitely use Hicks Farm again and I highly recommend them!

Before she went, I'd worked with her on sit, down, take it, leave it, and some spins with decent success. Brian took what she had and built on it, adding heel, come when called, turn, and stay. He returned a noticeably different dog. When we hit some bumps shortly after, he came back out and spent a solid hour with me going over what was actually happening...not just commands and corrections, but why she was behaving the way she was and what she needed from me to feel secure. (Spoiler: she needed me to be more confident and consistent.) He has a way of cutting straight to what matters without overcomplicating it, and more than once he said exactly the right thing at exactly the right moment. What struck me most across both experiences was how much genuine wisdom he brings to his work. He's clearly someone who has learned his craft through deep experience and observation, and it shows in every interaction with the dog and with the owner. On top of all of that, his pricing was incredibly reasonable; boarding and training combined for what many trainers charge for training alone. We felt genuinely taken care of. Kind, patient, perceptive, and exactly what we needed. Highly recommend.

I've been bringing my dogs here for years first my late dog, and now my current miniature schnauzer. If you look back at my previous review photos, you'll see the PERFECT schnauzer cut they used to do. Consistent. Professional. Distinguished little gentleman energy. Recently though, scheduling became nearly impossible. Every conversation sounded like: "Let me confirm if our groomer is actually working that day..." After weeks of trying to coordinate schedules, my schnauzer's hair got longer than ever. He loves wearing shirts, so yes, he had some matting. I paid extra for de-matting and gave very clear instructions: shave the skirt, but keep a full beard along with his chest and paws fluffy. Y'all... when I picked him up, I genuinely did not recognize my own dog. He walked in looking like a miniature schnauzer and walked out looking like a scrappy chihuahua named Peanut. They shaved EVERYTHING. His entire body, his face, even his whiskers. HIS WHISKERS. WTF. I know hair grows back and thankfully it's summer, but I honestly felt bad for him. As someone with longer hair myself, if somebody sat me down and buzzed me to the skin without warning, I'd probably need emotional support and a hoodie for a month. My dog still seems happy and unbothered, but I'm traumatized enough for both of us. After years of loyalty, this was incredibly disappointing and totally unacceptable. We will never come back..

From the first stay, I could tell they actually understand dogs, not just watch them. He came back relaxed, clean, and acting like himself, which says everything. The communication was solid, and I didn't have to chase anyone for updates. Place is clean, staff is friendly, and more importantly, they know what they're doing. After spending two weeks with Pawsitive Care, and then doing day training with them for a week, she has improved so much! She's learned to walk on her leash and stay beside me waiting for me to let her know when to walk or stop, she can literally shake off her anxiety when she gets too keyed up, and she's learned to stop jumping and sit to wait for pets instead of climbing all over you. Ashley was amazing and offered advice and help even when the training period was over. Definitely recommend - my dog loved it there and it's made her (and our house) so much happier!
