We highly, highly recommend John at A Big Van. He recently did a round-trip airport shuttle for six of us, with seven pieces of large luggage. He was on time, stayed in communication, and drove safely. Two of our passengers were youngsters who needed boosters seats and John provided them! read more

John was great! Communicative, confirmed the night before, showed up early and helped us with our bags. It's hard to find a ride for a big family and John offered us an affordable safe option that I appreciate so much! read more

I just needed to come back here and leave an honest review. I can remember my traumatic experience with this company. The look on my friends face when this smelly old dusty van came to pick us up. on The inside the ac didn't work, vibe was off and I just felt disgusted sitting intertwined with layers of dust inside of the vehicle . It's not good for people with allergies. Cherry on top the crusty rude unprofessional condescending driver thinks it's ok to break the law by being on his phone just distracted the entire time. I Would never recommend to pay for any service if my comfort and safety is not considered for. read more

Great service and ultra reliable! Look no further for your shuttle needs. They track delays and were great communicators.

Great service! Fun guy! He showed up on time and we got there safe and sound. So much fun.

We recently used "Big Van" airport transportation services twice and found them to be Fantastic. John the owner of the company was our first driver. He gave us excellent service as well as the Best Prices in Town. Our first experience was a 5:30 AM Saturday morning pickup ride to the airport for the six of us and all our luggage. We had lots of room John is a great communicator as after requesting my info regarding our flight etc he followed up with an instant confirmation. What set him apart was he called the day before our flight to confirm and again 30 minutes before he was to arrive at my home. Those calls relieved our minds about any missed communication or missing a flight due to the two hour arrival requirement before your flight. Our returning experience was with a second driver and second large size van and he was just as good. We texted Hime when we landed and again with our location outside the terminal and there he was. Our overall experience was much better than I had hoped. read more

I recently had John drive my family of four and our twelve large suitcases and boxes plus a few smaller bags from San Diego to LAX. John was punctual, and helped us with our heavy bags and boxes both at the pickup point and at LAX. John is very personable, and we enjoyed pleasant conversation with him the entire ride. He drove well, and all of us (my wife, myself, and our two kids) felt safe and comfortable the entire time. The van was perfect for our needs: comfortable for the four of us and more than adequate size to fit all our suitcases and boxes. John's service was excellent, and his price was very reasonable. He will be my first choice if I need such service again in the San Diego - L.A. area. read more

we hired John to take a group of us to a winery. Super accommodating! He waited for us while we shopped and tasted wines. And then he took us back to the hotel. Some of the ladies wanted to go to a different restaurant after the hotel. So he dropped them off. No extra charge. I would definitely hire him again. He was so nice I'd like to meet his whole family and hang out sometime! read more

Excellent customer service. Great price for a convenient booking especially when planning for large travel parties

Ian was the driver for our early morning (5:30am) pickup to the airport. On time and efficient. We made it with time to spare. His next passenger was the pilot and crew of the flight. read more

We had a large group of 9 in town for a bachelorette party. Not wanting to split our group up into two Ubers, and not able to afford a limo everywhere, we were so lucky to find A Big Van! Very professional, courteous, knowledgeable & helpful with spots to go see around town, and fun to talk to. Safe driver and knew his way to navigate around the streets of San Diego! Let us make a stop at the grocery store and helped us unload our heavy bags. Easy to coordinate with via text or phone call and always on time. Really appreciate this service and will definitely use again! :) Thank you! read more

A Big Van - Thank you A Big Van!! - Airport Shuttles Near Me - San Diego, California

Great service at a reasonable price! John was very communicative the entire time and was on time on departure and arrival. He even waited for us while we settled a bag delay issue! Very impressed and will definitely use him next time I need an airport shuttle (+recommend him to my friends). Thank you, John! read more

John's service was five star, incredible and will 100% use again. He was prompt and went out of his way on more than three seperate occassions to help me. I would recommend him to any one looking for corporate travel, shuttle service, weddings, corporate events and trips to and from Mexico. I was beyond pleased and extremely luck to have found such an honest and safe driver that was able to help me last minute on every trip. Thanks John! read more

A hidden gem. I was trying to find a ride from my hotel to the airport for 15 people. Started to seem like an impossible task (other than paying 900 bucks for a huge bus). Came across John and abigvan.com on a Google search. Was a little Leary about conducting business via text only but he came through as promised and on time. By far the cheapest option (150 total). Large, comfortable vans with friendly, courteous drivers. Will definitely use again. read more

Not everyone needs a limousine ride a round or paying a service to wait around while you are enjoying libations. Most shuttle services offer a ride to the airport, but little more. Uber and Lyft are limited for a vehicle for large groups (more than seven). A Big Van is the perfect way to get you from point A to B and back again without breaking up your group or your bank account. Friendly drivers under the direction of John make it the way to go. I highly recommend the service and will definitely use them again when the need arises. Thanks for being spot on with your service and timing. read more

A Big Van - On the way to downtown San Diego - Airport Shuttles Near Me - San Diego, California

Great service and VERY responsive. We flew into the CBX terminal (Cancun to Tijuana) and got picked up by John. Our flight was 2 hours late and we didn't arrive into Tijuana until 12:30 a.m. It took about an hour to get through CBX so we were finally at the curb at 1:30 a.m. John monitored our flight and was there to pick us up right on time. We are a family of five and fit comfortably in their large van. I highly recommend their services and will use them again. read more

Contacted John Rubio Monday to confirm our pickup at airport. Got back right away, and said no worries. One of his drivers contacted me before we left Honolulu w/ his contact info and to let him know when we touched down. Our plane was late, and we had a baggage issue.....had six family members w/ 2 children w/ a lot of luggage. Our driver was patient and just told me to contact him when we were curbside w/ all the luggage. This was around midnight. He arrived very quickly after that call and got us loaded right away, and got us home safely.....very professional, safe driver, no loud music, and no chatty-cathy nonsense like our last driver.....we were all very tired. The price that was quoted was honored w/ no hidden up charges like the guy who took us to the airport 10 days earlier. Would use A Big Van San Diego Shuttle again....thanks John for your good service and honest pricing. read more

We were impressed with John and he was very responsive for pricing and logistics for 8 adults, a baby and a lot of luggage. He was early for the 4 am pick-up time to the SD airport. On return he was at the airport. His price was reasonable and I would gladly use them again. read more

What a terrible experience. Hired for a bachelorette trip to Baja/Valle De Guadalupe from SD. Showed up late and with one less van than we expected causing our friends to drive to Mexico separately. By the time we were ready to leave the Baja house for the wineries, we were down one more van for "maintenance". While the single operating van was taking us to our first winery, it began smoking. The driver pulled over to check. Said it was ok, just some oil dripping on the timing belt. He continued to drive and then it really started smoking. He pulled over again. Asked us to get out, said he couldn't complete the trip and left us on the side of the road. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Clearly this company does not maintain its vehicles. I would not refer this company to friends, family or strangers. read more

First off I never write bad reviews, but this was the worst experience I have ever had with a business. This shuttle service was an absolute nightmare! From beginning to end, it was such a complete disaster! We had ordered 3 vans to transport 25 of my girlfriends to Valle de Guadalupe for my bachelorette. They showed up with only 2 vans, so one of the girls had to drive the remaining items that we couldn't fit in the 2 vans. Once we hit the road down, the AC did not work in either van, so were sweating the entire time in the middle of summer. Then when we finally get to the house in Ensenada to drop off our luggage, we come out to get back in to head to the wineries, there is only 1 van outside. 1 van was broken and had to go to the shop and the driver said he did not know when, if at all it would even come back. We are now down to 1 van out of 3 that we ordered for 25 girls. 12 of us went in the remaining van as the others then had to take Ubers to the wineries. As we are driving, the van starts smoking. The driver pulls over and tells us that oil just spilt on the engine and that everything is fine. We drive for another mile, then he pulls over again and says the transmission is broken. WE NOW HAVE ZERO VANS! This company put 25 girls in a horrible situation in Mexico and should NOT BE IN BUSINESS! Thankfully, my fiance was able to find a shuttle to pick us up within 40 minutes of calling them that had AC, could fit all of us, got us to all the wineries and back to states safely, and was half the price. This was the company that saved the day and we will all be posted rave reviews for their service that saved the weekend: https://www.yelp.com/biz/baja-fun-travel-ensenada?utm_source=ishare read more

John and Thomas helped us to go to LAX from San Diego and come back. Very friendly and trustworthy. The price was really fair.

We had 6 people in our party so we needed a larger vehicle. Responded to inquiry right away. Very straightforward and great price. Did not automatically add 20% tip like the transportation we arranged to take us to the airport which was much more expensive. Driver texted on day of pick up and waited for us at the airport before we even landed. It took us a while to get off the plane and driver was in constant contact. Wish we had used them to take us to the airport! read more

We hired Big Van to take a group of 8 from San Diego airport to Legoland round trip (4 adults and 4 kids all in car seats). He was great, prompt, and super friendly. Checked in with us to confirm arrival and departure times and very patient as we installed all 4 car seats for the kids. Would definitely use him again. read more

Our family of eight (and all our luggage!) needed early morning transportation to the Tijuana airport. John showed up at our home right on time, early actually, and had no trouble getting all of us comfortably situated in the van. He took us all the way to the front door of the TJ airport, saving us from having to pay $$ for Cross Border Xpress. When we flew back in to Tijuana a week later, we did have to cross back ourselves, but John was right there when we walked out the door on the US side. He was friendly, helpful, and courteous and we recommend him for any occasion where you need a really big van! read more

This is the best service ever. They arrived early to take my family of 8 from Santee to CBX EXPRESS. great service. After we arrived back home they were right there to pick us up. Price is right and drivers are super nice ! read more

John did reach out to me today and apologized for the mix-up. The fact that he took the time to do this shows that he values his reputation and wants his customers to have a good experience. We all make mistakes, it is not necessarily a reflection of the norm. read more

My family of five (with 5 big bags) flew into San Diego from Boston late at night. Before leaving Boston, I yelped 4 shuttle services. Although price was important, I also needed to have a sense of confidence that the driver would show up and that he would honor his price! I chose John because he answered the phone right away, he was the owner of his company and he explained his process clearly m John had me text my flight info and asked me to text him upon touch down and again when we got our bags. In addition, I texted him when I boarded my flight in Boston just to make certain he would be there. John did a great job helping with our luggage and even helped carry our bags to my front door! I give John 5-stars for his service. read more

I guess I'll be the first to review A Big Van for going to the airport and not clubbing in the Gaslamp. We live in Normal Heights and hate paying $30+ for a cab the 7 miles to the airport. So I started looking around on Yelp. This service is not that much less than a cab, but way more personal, reliable and the price is a flat fee, so no surprises if traffic sucks. I like that I can text to make a pickup appointment. And he's always a little early. We've had late and no show cab situations. Additionally, the driver went above and beyond what we could ever hope for from a cab. As we curb checked our bags, my husband realized he left his carry-on in the van. I texted the driver but got no response. So I called, frantic. He answered, apologized profusely for missing my text as he had already gotten home and gone to sleep! But he jumped out of bed and raced back to the airport to deliver the bag and we made our flight. And he refused a tip. We are loyal Big Van riders now. *Note to Ashley who thought the van was not fancy enough for her stilettos: If you're going to get bottle service at clubs in the Gaslamp - get a limo. read more

It was mine and my friends birthday and a group of 8 of us needed to be downtown by 9pm for the party and then come back to North Park at 1:30. This company was prompt, affordable, and courteous. Highly recommended for Business who need a shuttle! I am so beyond impressed with this shuttle service. I spoke a lot with John, and he always replied to me immediately. They were early to pick up all of our wonderful guest, they did not rush anyone and waited for everyone to load in the shuttle. They then returned at the end of our event- again, early- and waited on everyone. They event took the time to transport one of our staff home (free of charge). This shuttle service is affordable, reliable, and FRIENDLY! Make yourself and your organization look good & CALL BIG VAN! THANK YOU read more

Great service! I had a large group of executives and needed van service to a couple of venues. John was reasonable and very willing to work with us to accommodate everyone comfortably and affordably. I was so anxious about everything that I confirmed with him three times and he was very patient and professional. He texted me when they arrived (early, so I had no anxiety there), and was waiting outside the door when we were ready to go. He helped everyone aboard the two vans and navigated through San Diego rush hour to get us to our destination on time. The vans were comfortable and the driving of both John and Joanna was wonderful. When we were ready to leave our venue, he was right outside waiting and again navigated safely to our destination. I'll definitely use this service again. I was very impressed. read more

I was in a jam over the Thanksgiving holiday. I wasn't able to tell him if I would be needing his services on Saturday afternoon or early Sunday until Friday evening! A - Z perfect service! We had two groups with 4:20am pickups. I was a bit nervous trusting a huge family trip to a company I had never worked with before. 'Perfect' is the perfect description. read more

We needed a ride to the airport from PB and searched for shuttle service to airport on Yelp. A Big Van popped up and we read the comments on it and decided to give this business a try. John was very easy to work with - not only did he pick up the phone right away, he confirmed our ride time and location via text. We needed to be picked up at 5 a.m. from our house and he arrived 10 minutes early. He charged a flat rate. We will use his service again. read more

John responded quickly, gave us a very fair price, was promptly on time for our pickup at our home and got us to PetCo for the Padres game with plenty of time to spare. He picked us up at the game as planned. No waiting and great communication. He is a total pro. Pleasure doing business with you John! Can't speak highly enough about this place. Used it to get a group of 5 to Rosarito. Van was great, driver was great, and crossing was made so easy because of our driver Gonzalo. He was super flexible and accommodating. He was able to pick us up earlier then planned when our flights arrived earlier. Price was better in comparison to every other place I check out. They picked us up from the condo in Rosarito and took us back to San Diego. It took a couple hours to cross border but the ride is comfortable and they were super flexible when we had to change our drop off location last minute. Quickest communication too. Great great great! Will definitely use them again when we need group transportation! read more

I was looking for the van service from hotel to the airport. We have 5 suitcase and 3 carry-on baggage, so we needed a van service instead of regular cab. (We have to move to Japan) I found a big van on here yelp. I sent him a message and he, John wrote me back soon. Next day, at 4am, he showed up on time and took us to the airport. And it was affordable price. It was $38, from E st. Chula Vista to commuter terminal. I recommend a big van if you need to take a lot of stuffs or people. read more

I'm currently planning a trip for which I'll be flying out of TJ and I inquired with John about using his services to get there from San Diego. He had no need to give me other recommendations but he did out of niceness and professionalism and I really appreciate that. read more
