Across the street from a nut grove and the Dos Cabezas mountain range is Dwayne's Jerky store and rv park. The store offers a wide variety of jerky including some very exotic flavors as well as nuts, candy, souvenirs and more. Make sure to try their pecan pie. The staff is very friendly. Behind the store lies the Mountainview RV park, offering around thirty rv sites with electric/water/sewage. The park is clean and sites are level. No wi-fi, laundry or recreational area. The overnight fee was very reasonable. I would stay here again given the opportunity. (NOTE: At the time of our visit, their food truck was temporarily shut down due to staffing issues. Also, there is a fairly busy railroad track directly behind the property. Luckily our AC drowned out the noise.)

I guess Texan knows Texan and instantly felt those good vibes. I should have bought more pecans to go home and bake me a pecan pie but this time I was unprepared with cash... yeah, please bring cash if you stop by. He's got bee pollen, local honey, a variety of flavored pistachios, my favorite, habanero, chili lime, jalapeño, and about 5 more flavors, plain pecans, salted roasted and candied. You can also find the freshest eggs, chicken, duck, and turkey! He is so friendly, informative and helpful. We found Ken by pure accident and I am happy to have met such an amazing human being. He's just one of those good people that are hard to find nowadays that are genuinely honest and kind. If you happen to come this way, stop by and buy some goodies from Ken. All parties requested only 1 lb packs of hamburger and we both received 1 and 2 lb. packages. Also noted that the total weight delivered for the whole steer was only 313 lbs. out of the 587 hanging weight lbs. When we picked it up it was only chilled and not frozen.
