He let us know he had an igniter on hand but not the control module, and since he wouldn't be able to get that part on Christmas Eve, he asked if we still wanted him to come over. Yes! We did. He arrived in 15 minutes, got the heat running, and explained clearly what he was doing and what would be needed for the full repair once the part comes in. He was clear about the problem, explained it well and knew his stuff. In spite of the issues and awkwardness of our current plumbing, Andre did not give up and persevered with the blockage (between the bath and the sink) until it was finally resolved. The price was very fair especially considering the effort and mindset needed to resolve the problem. Wouldn't hesitate to call this company again - very grateful for a good and positive outcome to a nasty problem. Thank you, Andre for your patience and hard work.

I reached out via yelp messenger and got a response within the hour and they dispatched at technician over within 2 hours. The technician arrived Joey, and was professional and courteous. He identified the blockage and setup some tarps around the sink area to minimize dirt. He snaked the drain very thoroughly and resolved the blockage. Joey was chill whole time, explained some of the possible root causes behind blockage and preventative measures. The flat fee was way cheaper than the ridiculous profit charged by roto rooter last time. Will definitely use john sewes for future plumbing work.

We had a very great experience with AMC Mechanical LLC and truly appreciate Andrew and the team…read more They were punctual, courteous, and a pleasure to work with, and their strong knowledge and attention to detail really showed in the quality of their work. They moved efficiently while keeping everything well managed. With an older home, a few small hiccups were expected, but they handled them thoughtfully and helped get the rough inspection passed quickly. Overall, a great experience, we'd highly recommend Andrew and his company, and look forward to updating our review as we move into the next phase.

Do not hire this company for anything complicated! We hired…read moreAndrew to replace a boiler in our 2 pipe steam system in a 90 yr. Old house. He had done other minor plumbing projects for us with which we were happy but this one did not work out as well. It became clear he did not have experience with this type of system and initially did not install the pipes to,the boiler correctly which became apparent after we finally consulted a " senior" plumber who advised him how to redo the piping. After the installation was correct 1/3 of the radiators in the house were not working which had been functional with the old boiler. He was unable to figure out why so we had to hire another company at several thousand dollar cost and it turned out that Andrew had not properly skimmed the oil out of the boiler used to attach some of the pipes which spread throughout the system and this oil clogged radiator steam traps which made the radiators nonfunctional. This added several thousand dollars extra cost and he did not respond to our request to discuss the findings of the senior plumber. He told us he has been in independent business for 5 years but clearly has not encountered all the problems one will find in old houses around this area and did not have the knowledge for this sort of job.

I had what I consider a small job: replace two non-working shut-off valves from my kitchen water…read moreline, and one for the toilet water line. I must have called eight different plumbers or companies. Three would not provide free quotes or estimates, and they would have charged outrageous service call fees that one has to pay regardless of whether one accepts their quotes. Three companies offered free estimates and quotes. One quote was so ridiculously high, and when I questioned the price they described that the price included "Isolating water supply to unit by means of water main; relieving the pressure...." and the list went on and on, including a ridiculous list of normal steps for any plumbing job, including checking for proper functioning and leaks, as if these were the reason for the high costs listed on their estimates. It was a bit insulting. Petros was the last person I called, and he was refreshing. He asked for pictures of the valves in question, and before he gave me any quotes over the phone, he explained the options for repair and recommendations. He described the cost of the different types of valves (spoiler alert---they are not that expensive)--and explained his fee. No, he was not cheap, but I so appreciated the no-nonsense explanations and upfront pricing. I knew what the job was going to cost me, and exactly how much of the cost was going to materials vs. labor. Old fashion-business model and transparency that I appreciate. When he came to the house, he was friendly, efficient and professional; he explained and showed me what he did and what was wrong with the valves that were broken; and left the premises clean when he was done. He is a two-man company/team, so I cannot attest to how it would work calling him for larger jobs or emergency jobs, but I will definitely use his services again in the future.
