The dining room was not too large but was made efficient with table placement. We ordered at the counter then were assigned a table by the woman who took our order. There were a few other patrons when we arrived. Our food came out in about ten minutes. I had a double cheeseburger with onion rings and Andrew had a mushroom burger. His burger had a gray mushroom sauce on it that made the burger sloppy. Andrew enjoyed it. My burger was not your typical burger. It seems to be hand made and had some seasoning on it. It was a bit too salty and and also kind of tough. It was good though. The onion rings were typical. Business really picked up while we were there with many more customers. If I were to go back I would get the chicken finger basket. One of our co-diners had that and it looked good.

Classic cheddar cheese not just a Kraft Singles piece of plastic. I ordered the Santa Fe pizza. Loaded with huge chunks of bell peppers, chicken, sliced tomatoes, and the perfect amount of hot banana peppers. Both of us were beyond satisfied and enjoyed our meal. If you're daring or starving they have a 24 oz burger or a 18" ~ 6 lb pizza to try. The milk shakes were delicious; and if you're going to order a pizza, either order 2 or add a glass of water on the side. This is because you're going to be done your drink before your food arrives they're so good. The staff were friendly, quick to tidy the tables as they were emptying and very polite. The dining room was bright, each table painted differently and designed by someone local. Very charming. So coming back when we have time and are driving through.

I received a recommendation for another restaurant in town (Canada Grey). We stopped for dinner and…read morefound it was a hole in the wall coffee shop with no one in it. So, we decided to pick someplace else. While driving down the street we saw My Place Restaurant and a big sign stating "Families Welcome." We parked in front and were a bit concerned about the large number of what some would call riff raff hanging around outside smoking. I walked inside and got the same feeling. The place is more of a bar/pool hall than a restaurant with a crowd to match. I asked the bartender if it was OK to bring my family in and she said "of course" but only until 9pm (there is some law about no minors after a certain time apparently). They offer basic hamburgers and bar food. The one item that did not fit into this category was a steak sandwich, which I had. In spite of being a top sirloin, it was tender and very tasty and I was impressed. The food the rest of my family ordered was equally good. They seemed to care about the quality of the food. In the end, this place is trying to be a restaurant but they are really a bar and pool hall at heart. There was a lot of colorful language being thrown around, but nothing too bad that my kids have not heard before. I probably would dine elsewhere if I was with my family, but if I was looking for a bar and burger joint with some local color, I would return for sure.

Who knows, maybe I even saw Chad the very moment my family stopped here in about 1994. Driving to Saskatoon with hungry kids must be taxing, so my dad pulled us over at this joint, which had more of a pool hall feel. I remember the sign saying "no shoes, no shirt, no service", which was a strange concept to a foreigner used to wearing shirts all the time. Was this a common phenomenon in Canada? The burgers and fries came on a plate. That's about all I remember.

We had resigned ourselves to a fast food chain when we spotted Nick's Family Restaurant. It's spacious and they seem to take the pandemic seriously with hand sanitizer and tables spaced out. A lot of rural businesses only have the signs up and do little else. The staff at Nick's are doing things right regarding Covid-19. I ordered a basic hamburger and my partner ordered a chicken cordon bleu sandwich and both upgraded to the yam fries. Those were likely the best yam fries that I've ever had, not that I order them all that often. Our sandwiches and burger were both good and very good value considering the price. Yes this is definitely one of the better places to eat for at least 100 kms in any direction.

My usual order is a cheese pizza with some french fries and I would say fairly expensive but really worth it. The food there in Nick's is very good and let me tell you by explaining the pizza. The cheese taste delicious on top with the sauce adding a great flavour to your taste buds, and the crust? Oh boy, the crust has a perfect crunch to it and makes it one of the reasons why you should buy it. The french fries now. The french fries sometimes are a bit to salty but it really doesn't matter at the end which the taste combined with the thingy MABOPPERS GOD DAMN. I do recommend this place to y'all. And also the service is just right, very friendly employees, willing to help with your needs. Therefore, 5 stars.

The service was kind and efficient. With such an extensive menu, I am pretty impressed that every meal we ordered was delicious and fresh. I had the Greek chicken souvlaki and it was phenomenal. Supposedly the chef is Greek and it shows. 10/10 The burger was also a huge hit. The fries are perfectly crispy! 10/10 The cheese pizza was good. We could really taste the Parmesan and crust was thick. 8/10 The fettuccini Alfredo was creamy and a good portion. 9/10 The children also enjoyed their meals. I would return if in the area for sure!
