When we started searching for furniture for our new house a few years ago Derbyshire popped up on just about every list I checked and had plenty of great reviews. Now that we've made a few of our own purchases I totally understand the praise this small business gets. The shop is small but mighty and packed with so many good pieces. If your style leans traditional - they've got it. If your style leans more contemporary/modern - they've got it. Plus a few things in between that could go in either direction and work with just about any style or decor. Everything is solid wood and totally customizable. You can pick your stain or paint plus your hardware (should you order something with hardware, of course). The couple that owns the shop have always been very kind and very patient, answering all the questions... especially when I was coming in every other week for too many weeks to look at dressers before I finally made up my mind. Lead time was accurate, delivery days/times were accommodating and the guys that arrived to place our items were totally courteous. For our last order/delivery the guys didn't leave until they leveled our dressers perfectly. I didn't even have to ask.. they just did it and that's how a good delivery and install team should operate. Truly, I only have good things to say about Derbyshire. Next piece of wood furniture that we need I will definitely be stopping in Derbyshire first to check things out.

Then they add-on and overcharge you for a product or products you didn't want and then threaten to take it back if you don't pay for the added charges. They constantly call your number by robocall and hang up or send you to voicemail when you call to inquire or contest a charge. They ignore and completely disregard when you ask for a print out an itemized list of the charges or the bill and totally take advantage of Senior Citizens. The manager named Nelson, sets everything up, never follows through and his boss whose name is "Nelson's Boss" calls to intimidate and bully the customers if you have an issue or present an issue to him. Then when he hears he will be reported to the Better Business Bureau, he threatens to Remove/Repossess EVERY Item of Furniture you were suckered into paying for (thousands of Dollars not smiles) for the past two years due to a balance of or a $200 discrepancy. I am hoping some one will see this and direct it to anyone that can help me and my elderly mother that has been Verbally Abused by this "Nelson's Boss" at this location or be very wary of the rickety furniture that they will replace with other pieces that won't match the set or a mattress that is beyond uncomfortable and not what was advertised or agreed upon at the time of purchase. I walked into Denville Hardware looking for a nut and bolt for an odd piece of music equipment. I was greeted by two fellows at the front counter who immediately directed me to aisle 12. In aisle 12 I met an another fella who opened one draw pulled out two wing nuts and one fit. Amazing this is a great old-time hardware store with everything you could possibly need. In another city I used to go to Jager. Denville definitely has more selection and excellent service. Far superior to the big stores. This is now my go to spot. Thanks very much!
