This is an old school hardware store that has more actual hardware than you'll find elsewhere in…read moreBloomington. They do everything from keys (including "digital chip" key clones) to vast amounts of nuts and bolts, SAE and metric, tools, supplies, home/industrial hardware. They are not Grainger or Lee's. They are not Lowes or Menards. Their prices are sometimes high, but they don't sell cheap gear. I wished they'd sell lumber and plants, but maybe it's better that they don't. They get five stars for being the best HARDWARE store in the area. You don't have to buy a huge blister pack to get just one or two of an item. Their clerks know what they have, and it's a good idea to ask them. They sometimes have better alternatives in mind, and their selection is vast for the size store they operate; they can save you a lot of time, unlike the big box stores, where there are no real specialists except the Big Item sales people. The one in my hometown closed years ago, and I was so shocked and excited to see this one! I just HAD to stop in. It was just like I remembered (though here, attached to an Ace Hardware), and I loved it. Lots of neat craft supplies including model car kits, and prices are pretty good. This shop looked well-taken care of, and the staff on the hardware side helped us locate something we needed to grab there. It's not Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Target, or Wal-mart, and in various ways I appreciate that. It's simple but has most things you need (outside of groceries and new wardrobe).

Got told to down load the over 100 page book. Do not have a cuputer.called the store several times with no luck. I got Chris and he agreed to print the pages. Went to get the pages no one knew where they were. One worker agreed to print them again. Had to wait a long time to get them. Got home still did not have all of the pages. Was told they sold all the tractors so they did not have the book.still selling the same tractor. Not a happy customer

I order carpet there for a rent house about 10 years ago. The guy was upset with me for not…read moreremoving the baseboards and the carpet so he can do it. I told him I thought he did that and he said no I do that and he will be back tomorrow. Bottomline, it was a mess getting carpet and finishing the job (wanted to just cancel it and couldn't do that). I will never buy carpet from them again. Also, I ordered a stove and fridge there. The delivery guys took off the sticky tape and placed them on my trash bags I had laid out on the counter. I had to go out and get new trash bags because of their carelessness. Why even remove the tape and let me do it? Just place it where it goes and that is it. And don't get me started on how NOBODY ever called me back about new windows for the house. That was at least $10k sales for windows and they refuse to even call me about it. I waited 2 months and just went with Anderson. I guess my money and time is not valued at Lowes for Vincennes. They can do a lot better. It is ridiculous.
