They got ATCO out and was told it was an issue with the motor. We were calling companies and most either were too busy to answer or weren't able to come out for at least 2-3 days. Well, just our luck that Furnace Solutions answered the phone and the guy I spoke with said they could get someone that evening to my parents' house. He got the information and when I got more information about the issue, I called back but received a full voice message. I sent a text with the information. It wasn't even the evening and my parents got a call that the tech would be arriving soon. Marty replaced the motor but advised a new furnace would be needed, which we agreed with. We knew the furnace was on its last legs and did not feel my parents were being told this for a sale of a new furnace. The sales guy, Jamie, called and said he could come that evening but we weren't able to meet him there so we arranged for a visit a few days later. That's job dedication he was willing to stop by on a Saturday evening! They are really great about calling if they are running late, or letting the customer know about what time they would be arriving. Jamie was a little later than the scheduled time but he called to let me know. He was friendly and asked questions and provided information. He showed us the Trane furnaces and the ones that he would recommend. The amount on the previous invoice from the motor replacement would be put towards the new total. It was also great they offered no tax for a senior's discount. They were initially going to come the next day to install the furnace but due to a personal issue, they came the following day. Not a big deal for us as a two day turn around is pretty good. I was not there on installation day but it seems they did a diligent job and removed the old furnace and installed the new one without any issues. I'm glad that we found a great company in a time of urgency when we just wanted any company to fix the issue so my parents would have heat during the cold snap. Would recommend this company and it's great they are 24 hours too!

When most companies would charge you ridiculous rates for calling a same day appointments as an emergency and overcharge for after hours, I was lucky to get a referral to Furnace Solutions and met Justin Jacobsen to fit me into his busy schedule and charge me a reasonable price for the service. I found their service to be honest and truthful and efficient, with the service I had received it was evident that they take and look after their customers. Totally recommend this company for any furnace issues for anyone.

We were able to wait until the morning to avoid the middle of the night call out. Ricardo promptly came out and inspected our dinosaur furnace and told me the bad news - broken ball bearings and holes throughout. Ricardo did a temporary fix to keep it partially running while we d schussed options for a new furnace with Curtis. All correspondence was answered promptly via email and Curtis was available by phone as well. A-1 offered to loan us free heaters in the interim as well. We ended up going with a 2 stage high efficiency and an AC coil for future AC install. The quotes were provided via email with links directly to the Bryant website to view the most current information. I can't remember the name of the next gentleman who came out but he was on time and professional. We were really happy from start to finish with the service received. Never debt pressures to buy bigger or more expensive items and things were explained to me in a way I could understand. There were a few hiccups when all was said and done but everything was handled with grace and I feel confident in the service received. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Curtis or his crew for any of your heating or cooling needs. PS locally owned and operated in St. A for +40 years! Thankfully I was quick enough to slam on my breaks to avoid being T-boned. My stuff in my truck went flying and some items were damaged. I spoke with the officer manager to advise them of this behaviour and I was assured it would be addressed as their vehicle have GPS and I have dash cam video. They have never reached out to discuss replacing my damaged items that we damaged due to the negligence of their employee who bu the ay gave me the dirtiest of looks when he was the one breaking traffic laws. This encounter has made them memorable enough I will NOT use them for any services.

Update: We have had contractors from two reputable, professional companies come in and inspect…read moreWarren Electric's workmanship. One company did not even want to attempt to fix his mistakes. Another agreed to it, but it would take a whole team of a carpenter, drywaller, roofer, painter, and insulation crew to repair this poor workmanship. Yesterday the carpenter/drywaller and roofer came to our house, repaired the ceiling drywall, and re-installed the master bathroom fan. The roofer also inspected our roof as we were all fearful of how poorly the bathroom vent on the roof may have been installed and our fears were correct. He was flabbergasted and furious at what he saw, so he took photos for us and offered to repair it - see photo. As you can see, while installing the roof vent, Warren Electric cracked two of our roof shingles and sloppily "repaired" them with black caulking. There is caulking everywhere and the vent flashing should be sitting underneath the shingles, not on top. In contrast, for comparison, see the photo of the other roof vent for our main bathroom that we have, which was installed properly in the past, and not done by Warren Electric. With the way the roof vent sits now, we are at a significant potential for major damage to our house in the form of ice damming and water leaking in to the attic.

I called initially for a duct cleaning and for them to do any…read moreservicing on the furnace and to fix my humidifier. 1. the duct cleaning was completed in a satisfactory manner. The duct cleaning service man indicated to them that the switch in my humidifier was not working. 2. So I had to book another call (with another service call fee added which I was not pleased about -but they did give a 5% reduction) 3. Second time out the service guy (a different one) came out to look at the furnace (said all was good) and then he looked at the humidifier explaining my switch needed replacing. So once again another service call to book with them which I did with Heather. Apparently the service guy "did not carry the Aprilaire switch part. A quote of $200 was set to me which I approved because I did not want to spend another service call fee for the third visit. 3. The appointment reminder (for the third appointment) email was incorrect. The service call was to be for 11 am- the reminder said 1 am. I dismissed it with a laugh thinking it was just a "typo"- they meant 11 am. 4. I texted the repair service guy reminding him he was to come at 11 am. He texts back no "it is 1 pm". 5. I called Heather and explained my dissatisfaction that the appointment was for 11 am and that three service calls to replace a broken humidifier switch (which should have been sorted out the second time after sending pictures of the model of Aprileair 500) is ridiculous. I then sent her via email the incorrect reminder they sent me of my appointment time. 6. They emailed me back to cancel the appointment. Moral of the story.....go elsewhere - there are many other services that are better. They do not schedule appointments correctly and when they are called out on their BS and errors they just cancel you. Unprofessional and incompetent.

They are very helpful and concerned about their customers. I was always treated respectfully. They did a wonderful job reinstalling the pipes for the furnace. I now have no noise and can sleep at night. When they took the pipes out there was water in them. Will be referring them to everyone.

True North Heating and Cooling has been a gem to work with. Initially what started the summer…read morebefore, with a call about a noisy neighbour's a/c and what could be done to help dampen the sound, continued that positive experience into a great one to follow. Who wants to be without heat in the winters that we seem to have here, but kerplunk it did, the 'ol 21 year old Frigidaire furnace cracked its heat exchanger. With -30°C weather in the forecast, this was not ideal timing, but when is it ever? Anyway, Chris showed up as soon as he was able to look at what we needed to do for getting heat in the house again. The calculation was a little different than I expected, now they just look at the number and size of windows in the house rather than the size of the house. We also looked together at other issues that we were having like not enough heat pumping into the upstairs and downstairs and how the airflow could be improved. They gave us some time to think about our options and what we were going to do for the install... but they also didn't make us wait on their end. The pencilled in an install date for us so that we wouldn't have to wait. That was so appreciative. They dropped off some smaller space heaters and some larger ones that plugged into the 220V outlets. The rental ended up being free with the install. (But do watch your usage as they're going to chew into your electricity bill... if you have a gas fireplace, best to use that.) So install date came. We chose the Lennox Merit ML296, it is a two-stage rather than a variable stage, but still better than what we had. The furnace could not be vented out of the chimney anymore with the hot water tank, as per the new regulations, and now is vented out the side of the house. So be sure you keep that in mind as there's going to have to be some new pipes and drilling involved. They helped pick the best path for the new intakes and exhaust. One thing that was good was there was no more need for the combustion air intake of the house, so that huge source of cold air into our utility room was going away! They cut and blocked it off. Demolition happened in the morning. The two installers arrived on time. Note for anyone, if you can give them your garage as a staging area that will make things way easier for them. When they pulled out the old furnace it was very clear that the heat exchanger had a nice big hole with another one or two more on the way. Ugh. (See picture.) The new Lennox is a bit smaller than the old one, but they were still able to use the existing ducting by installing an extension. They repositioned the furnace and new filter system (we went for the Merv16 filtration system to take care of dust allergies) to point in a more accessible manor than the old one. In addition to the installation of the furnace I was surprised that they also went and improved the drainage system of my humidifier and the furnace with proper PVC piping rather than the hokey flexible tube it replaced. Way more professional! They carefully went onto the roof and dropped down a new inset in the chimney to allow the water heater to still vent properly and soon after, that afternoon, the new thermostat was installed. All of this was done with proper social distancing and precautions, yet at the same time were available for any of my constant questions or inquiries during the install. Part of the installation included a new thermostat to properly drive the new furnace. We requested an upgrade to the Honeywell T6 Pro Smart Thermostat WIFI (TH6220WF2006/U) and we couldn't be happier! We can now turn up and down the heat when we are away from the house or still in bed with the app or with Siri. With Apple HomeKit, we can set scenes to control it and our other devices. We like the touch display screen a lot better than the normal T6 Pro. It can even send you an alert if your house is too cold or hot. I recommend it. The next day involved opening up the return air on our main floor to allow for better circulation and the addition of a proper one into the basement. New ducting was put in and installed in a location that wouldn't impede the positioning of furniture. The downstairs is still cool, but it isn't freezing like it was before. One thing about the install I did have concerns about was the exhaust outlet, it was positioned at the level of our backyard access path on the side of the house and my boys bumping into it. It also was near where the window opened. I sent them some pictures about it a few weeks later and they happily agreed to put an extension on the pipe to raise it above both issue sources and insulated it from freezing. No charge for the adjustment! In all this was something that I didn't want to have to do... the roof was the one planned. But obviously it was something that we had to do and it was obvious we had to do it with True North Heating and Cooling. I wouldn't have done it any other way! We were very happy with this business when we used them this past winter to replace our broken…read morewater heater and replace our HVAC and water softener as well. The staff were incredibly good at communicating and were very professional. I was also happy with how good they were at cleaning up after themselves, with their willingness to come back and fix any thing (or remove anything) forgotten or left behind, and with their service when they returned to set up the air conditioning in the spring and when they cleaned our ducts. I am happy to become an ongoing customer with their good service.

She got back to me during one of the busiest weeks of a crazy heatwave. She identified that it was still under warranty even though the original company claimed it was not. She went above and beyond and saved me over $1,000 in unnecessary costs. I highly recommend this sort of professional customer service and will make sure they are my first recommendation and go to for anything Heating or cooling related. Wish I heard of you sooner!
