My kitchen knives consist of a few that were my grandmother's (she never had hers sharpened), and several others I received as a wedding gift 20 years ago. (Who knows how long my granny had hers, but she's been gone 20 years.) Anyhow, despite occasional feeble attempts with whetstones and other methods, the edges of all my knives were pretty much gone. I recently woke from a dream about a big sale on Wusthofs - that's how dull my knives were. I was ready to sh*tcan the lot of them in favor of a whole new set. I'm SO happy I found A&L. I got a nice chef's a while back... years ago now. And it is a quality piece, but nothing stops the dulling over time. I took that bad boy home after getting it sharpened and sliced through a pepper. The weight of the knife practically but the pepper. I wish I had done this years back. I can't wait to cook some more tonight with these freshly sharpened knives! read more

Here is the real deal. Excellent knife/scissor/whatever you need sharpening service. You could not find a better place in the region for putting that fine edge back on your beloved cutlery. And the service is very, very fast. And very, very affordable. My entire Wusthof block of knives and the scissors were done quickly and done right. It reignited my desire to cook...I wanted to chop a bag of onions a la Julia Child with my feel-better-than-new knives.
