We live on a ranch next to a creek with dogs and a cat and enough pet hair to create a new animal. It is a really hard house to keep clean because the dogs walk through the creek, then dirt, and across the floors, and everyone sheds. Sarah gets the pet hair under all of the furniture, cobwebs on our high ceilings. She gets windows, dusts, and notices things even I miss. She uses natural cleaning ingredients and is keenly aware of the dangers of the toxic chemicals often used to clean homes. My husband works from home and comments on how sweet she is with our animals, how she works hard the entire time she is here, and is not distracted by being on her phone or having to play music. She is really professional. At the end of her visit she asks if there is anything we would like her to focus on for the next time. I like that she is building a business, she is licensed and bonded, and is enthusiast about what she does. She does research and educates herself on the best cleaning techniques and I love that. We had Squeaky Clean come clean our windows about two weeks before listing our home for sale. After…read morethe technician (Eliot) left, I discovered that three of the four blinds upstairs were no longer functioning correctly. One roller blind with a bead string was snapped, one blind was stuck in the all the way up position and would not lower, and a third would open and close very crookedly. I contacted them and they sent out a manager (Kyle) to look at the blinds. He was able to fix the one that was stuck all the way up and wouldn't release, and he agreed it was caused by pulling the blinds up too far/hard. He was unable to repair the other two blinds, but said that they would send a blind repair specialist. After almost two weeks, there was finally availability in his schedule and he was supposed to arrive between 8-10AM to fix the blinds on the same morning that the house was being photographed for the real estate listing at 11AM. He no showed the appointment and after I called at 10:15 to inquire about his ETA, I was told it was due to a truck breaking down, even though this was not communicated with me. Eventually I spoke with the specialist and by the time he could arrive it would have overlapped with the photography appointment. At this point he also told me for the first time that he would not be fixing the blinds on-site, but instead they need to be taken down and brought back to their warehouse for repair and that they should have brought them in for repair two weeks prior when the issue was first flagged. At that point I couldn't have him take the blinds because it was Wednesday and the house was being listed the next day with open houses scheduled that weekend. The plan was made for him to pick up the blinds the following Monday morning, to repair and return them before the next weekend's open houses. On Monday morning I received a call from a manager that said they no longer thought they were responsible for breaking the blinds and that they were already broken before they got there. They later admitted that they did open one blind that was stuck and wouldn't release, but that they never touched the other blinds and that they were open when they got there. This is untrue, if I had prepared for the visit by opening the blinds, I would have done that for all rooms. What happened was that they came on time at 8 AM, I met Eliot and said please start upstairs, I am going outside to power wash the patio since I didn't want to get water spots on the patio door or windows after they were cleaned. It was only a few hours after he left that I went upstairs to lower the blinds and saw that 3/4 no longer worked properly. So to summarize, Squeaky Clean's position is that I waited until right before selling my house to try and trick a window cleaning company into fixing my two broken blinds, and that they did coincidentally happen to break a third one while there, that they did manage to repair, but take no responsibility for the other two. So now I am out $1000 because of $250 worth of window cleaning services and it is all happening while we have the added stress of showing our house to potential buyers. The takeaway, should you choose to do business with this company (you shouldn't), make sure to document, ideally by video the day of the service, that your blinds are in good working order. You should also supervise them while they work, and immediately check the condition of all blinds before they leave. You need to approach this like you are going to have to prove your case in front of a jury of your peers. --OR -- You could just go with a different company that isn't run by a bunch of lying crooks. Choose wisely.
