About three years ago, I had a partial bathroom redone through Modern Elegance. I was sold a…read morecustom-made sink cabinet and mirror. They also installed a new sink, faucets, and plumbing for two showers and the sink. The plumber they used (and he only worked for them) had a terrible attitude especially when asked a question. Now we have found a major leak under that sink. Water spouted from the new hot water pipe and flooded the cabinet and floor. Even turned off, the shut-off valve he put in didn't stop the water. We had to shut off the main line and call someone to put in new piping. He showed us how worn the three year old plumbing was. Also the bathroom has a powerful exhaust fan yet the paint job (that was manufactured in the cabinet and mirror) was chipping off. I honestly would not recommend this place for any type of renovations. It's costing us more money to remedy the plumbing problem and to replace the sink and sink cabinet. (Which, by the way was all poorly caulked and black mold was caked on the tile wall when our plumber removed the sink and cabinet. It must have been going on for the past three years.)

Modern Elegance is the real deal! Feb. 2021, my husband and I sat down with Ed, the owner and…read moreoperator of Modern Elegance 117 Taylor Ave, (Rt. 71) Manasquan, NJ. Ed thoroughly educated us in the cabinets he offers. He explained how they are all made and where they are made...in the good ole USA. We choose Candlelight Cabinetry, made in upstate NY. Ed introduced us to his right hands, Anthony and Candice. Ed and Anthony came to our home and measured the project. A week or two later we had our proposal and began with our selection. Modern Elegance is a one stop shopping. We were able to purchase our cabinets, hardware, countertops, backsplash, lighting, faucet and appliances* through Ed/Modern Elegance. This showroom has it all. Most importantly, they are Honest, Trustworthy, Listens to their Customers, Punctual, Neat, Cleans up after the job and when they give you a date, that is in fact the date and time. We cannot be happier with this job and the service by Ed, Anthony, and Candice; the countertop company and Top Line Appliances*, and of course all the electrical and plumbing people. If anyone reading this is looking for this kind of new or renovation for their home, check out MODERN ELEGANCE, you won't be disappointed.

6 or so years ago I purchased my kitchen cabinets from Kuche+Cucina - along with the general design…read more[and quite a bit of custom fabrication]. I am still ecstatic about the result -- I mean like I still smile every time I walk into the kitchen and open the fridge door!! Fast forward to Thanksgiving 2022... 4 year old grandson decides to throw something and dented the kick panel under the refrigerator. I was really something rather minor... but my OCD was kicking in big time, so I gave Rissa a call and she sorted it out... and I mean WAY over and above sorted it out. I have rarely ever been as happy with a vendor / provider -- while I had expected the worst, it was very much the opposite -- they have not yet invented words to describe how much I think this firm has some of the best "after sale support" [and we're talking a LOT of years past the actual sale!!]. While I doubt I'll be replacing a kitchen again anytime soon... if anyone ever asks me for a recommendation, there will be zero hesitation on this recommendation.

We worked with Kuche + Cucina for a kitchen remodel in Manhattan and also worked with another…read morerenovation group for the rest of the apartment. We really enjoyed working with Carmi to establish the design and that process was very painless and flexible. We were set to start on renovations in early 2020 however with COVID, we had to delay our renovations due to the building's policy. Kuche+Cucina was super understanding and held our cabinets for us until we were ready and felt comfortable with proceeding with renovations given the circumstances. However, the main reason that this is a 3 star review is that we definitely had some issues working with the renovation coordinator. Though I think we were all in unfamiliar waters with the pandemic I definitely felt like there were quite a few times when the ball was dropped on their side. For example we weren't told in advance that our contractor would need to move certain outlets in order for the cabinets to be installed even though we had asked explicitly beforehand if there was anything that needed to be done in advance. This caused delays in the whole process and required the other renovation company to schedule last minute changes around them which luckily they had no issue with. There were also multiple times that we were asked for information in an urgent manner that we had already provided prior which made the process quite stressful. In addition it seemed like coordination between Kuche+Cucina and the actual workers was a bit messy and just confusing in general. We would be asked one thing by the workers and be told by Kuche+Cucina to just not worry about it. But then later it would come up as a last minute problem and Kuche+Cucina seemed just as confused as we were and said that this was an issue with the contractors rather than take responsibility for their poor communication with their contractors. I expected a profession kitchen renovation company to be more organized especially for a relatively straightforward cabinet installation. Some requests were also totally ignored. For example, we requested that a soap dispenser hole be made in the countertop we ordered and received confirmation from the group but no hole was ever made. It's not really a huge deal to us but it's definitely just one example of many small communication issues that we had with Kuche+Cucina and the communication between them and their contractors. Meanwhile the other renovation company that we worked with for the rest of the apartment work was super communicative and easy to work with even when we hit unexpected road bumps. Since all this occurred during an unprecedented pandemic I would take our experience with a grain of salt but we probably wouldn't choose to work with Kuche+Cucina in the future.
