I was visiting my sister at the Mainlands in Pinellas Park, Florida a few weeks ago. Their complex…read moreneeded a large dead tree removed plus stump grinding and some dangerous branches removed from another. My sister told me the cost was $1,600. I told her she might be missing a zero. I was wrong. I live in the Seattle area and got two quotes last year to cut 2 branches off a tree that drops needles and clogs my gutter. Both estimates were around $2,000 and only 1 included removing the cut branches. Maybe my bids were out of the norm, or maybe a Seattle price, but I couldn't believe how inexpensive Stevens Tree Service was. They were quick and did a great job.

I bought my house in Clearwater and moved in early 2022. We had another company remove a 40 foot…read morepalm and a 20 foot Juniper as well as grind both stumps for $900. When we were ready to remove our 40 to 50 foot Camphor we though that other company's quote of $3,300 was a little high. I did some research and found tree removal in Clearwater ranges between $300 and $1,200. I know prices have gone up with everything now a days and this was a large tree so I asked 4 companies with high ratings, arborist, and have been around for a while to come out and give me quotes including this one. The other three companies quoted us $3,000, $2.900, and $2,250. This company came out last and quoted us $5,900 which is insane. Our tree is about as simple a cut down and grind as it gets. Not over power lines, in the open with no fences, and not hanging over anything for the most part. Grinding a stump in Clearwater alone is about $200 give or take a hundred so I have no clue how this guy Tom Curry came up with this quote. My advice is this look up other top rated Tree Service companies in the area that have arborist, have been around a while, and you'll get a better deal. These guys are more than twice as much as these other companies and they all check the same boxes one should be looking for in a tree service. I hope this helps you in your search for affordable quality tree removal.

Their trucks reached over my garage into my back yard and so save my lawn and property. They extracted this massive tree and the place looked batter than when they arrived. No damage to lawn, bushes, property, etc. One thing we learned is that with these tree companies, you MUST ask and VERIFY that the company has insurance to cover your property (should have $1 million in coverage) as well as a current workers compensation insurance. If one of their workers were to fall out of a tree on your property and they don't have proper coverage, YOU WILL LIKELY BE SUPPORTING THAT PERSON FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIFE. So when they say the have it, or wave it in front of your face, you must actually call and verify. This is extremely expensive insurance and companies will take out a policy, get the evidence (proof of insurance) and then cancel the policy. This is how some companies "save money". One of these companies came and gave a quote - which was actually exactly the same as A-Absolute. So just beware, stay alert and do your homework.
