Robert at A1 Wastewater installed my aerobic system on hwy 90 across from the Beaumont Municipal Airport which is in a designated flood plane. I was required by law to hire a surveyor, obtain a elevation certificate, and build my foundations on the property above a specific elevation. I tried to explain this to the installers from A1 when they were here doing the installation. As I observed the install I told them that even a 2" rainfall had often produced standing water above the concrete tanks at the elevation that they were placing them. One of the installers sarcastically asked me how many of these systems had I personally installed. Realizing that my concerns were being ignored I gave up. So it wasn't long before I had to replace a flooded air pump at my own expense. I would estimate that since the install (5yrs) the tanks have been flooded by rain 40+ times. Each time this happens the raw sewage water and feces are carried throughout the area on my property and others and the water pump runs continuously. I have repeatedly asked A1 Wastewater to raise the tanks and they always refuse. I emailed pictures of the rain covered tanks to Robert on the morning of 6/16/15 after a 2 inch rain. He called me on 6/18/15 and said if I would pay him almost 300$, he would install some "risers". He flat refuses to raise the tanks to a proper level as I have asked on multiple occasions, even on the initial install day. I find this behavior totally against everything that is right and reasonable. Today I have filed a complaint with the BBB and the Jefferson Co. Environmental Control. The County Judge, County Commissioner, City Council, TCEQ, and local TV stations will also be contacted if necessary. It is down right disgusting, unsanitary, and a serious public health hazard for my neighbors and I to be forced to endure the effects of this obviously botched installation that cost me about 6000.00 dollars.
