Had an unfortunate break down on the highway at night, and I had A-1 help out. The overall experience was excellent, as our tow truck driver Roger was timely, knowledgeable, kind, and respectful. I can't say enough about him. He got my car to their repair shop and dropped us off at a nearby hotel. If you need roadside assistance, I wouldn't hesitate calling. Separately, I'd also recommend their auto shop. Their attention and work was great. Their facilities for those that need to wait is excellent. There's an outside covered deck with rocking chairs, a very nicely decorated inside area with a TV and A/C, and clean updated bathroom. Glad A-1 was selected by my insurance company. read more

I was traveling from Fl to PA and no idea of my surroundings. It was very convenient that they had a repair shop. Luckily it was just the battery and not an alternator but I was fixed and back on the road by 11am the next day. They picked even picked us up at the motel and took us to my car. Due to the severe storm, we waited until Rob Tow Truck Driver from A1 Towing to arrive. He was quick to get our vehicle on the flatbed. It was down pouring and lightening. He put us in his cab, drove us over to the car dealership to drop off the car so they could fix it 1st thing in the morning. Then he made sure we were able to get a hotel room close by for the night. We had a blow out on I-95 and were able to exit and pulled into a gas station. We have BMW roadside assistance and they called A-1. Aaron the tow driver came within 45 minutes. He was extremely helpful and took us and our car to a dealership not too far from where we were. Dropped the car off and brought us to a hotel nearby as well. We were traveling from central FL to Maryland and broke down on a Saturday around 3pm at the 31 mile marker going north bound. We had NO clue where we were and had our child in the car. Many places closed at 5pm and all of the local Firestones were full for Sunday. After calling 10+ places we spoke to Craig with A-1 Towing. He quickly called their mechanics to see if anyone would come in on a Sunday to fix our car. I got a call back within 30 mins and we were good to go. The tow truck driver (we forget his name but he is a Marine) came within an hour and dropped us off at our hotel. The car was ready and brought to us at the hotel the next day (Sunday) at 1pm. Throughout the entire process Craig kept us updated about the car so we could get accommodations with our hotel. Would highly recommend to anyone who is in a bind. My father in law had a wreck and this company was called to tow the vehicle. Since the vehicle was drivable we tried to decline towing. This company rudely refused informing us the keys were in his pocket and he wasn't giving us our keys. Towed to yard where the rudeness continued. We were moving a boat from Charleston SC to SW Florida when we ran into trouble with the trailer. We called late afternoon on a Saturday and Shane routed us to Darlene that had Robbie meet us at the gas station we were stranded. These guys have a great can-do attitude and not only did Robbie get us safely back to their shop but Darlene arranged for a few fellas to meet us at the shop where the crew made quick work of getting our trailer repaired and us back on the road that night! We made it safely and smoothly back in Florida early Sunday morning! We were in a lurch and these guys helped us out tremendously! Highly recommend!! On Wednesday I was driving home from Florida on 95 around 9 pm I blew a tire. I was by myself, I live 2 hrs away. My husband had my lug nut key. I had two misfortunes this day, one of which I broke down on the highway, The second was getting my vehicle towed b AAA and fixed by this company. I paid A-1 Towing 800 to fix the car. Then they stole an item from me worth 2000.00 and refused to give it back. I didn't realize that the item is stolen until I reached my final destination, six hours later while driving to the final destination, my trunk was never opened until i reached my destination. there's only one place that the item disappeared and that is that they at A1 towing. I called them expressed my concerns. Nobody in the shop knows anything about it. I'm a seriously this is a crocodile bit, and I would not hire them, for I would not take anything for granted business with these people they were absolutely ruthless. I will be pressing charges and will be contacting the South Carolina Attorney General's office better Business Bureau, I will be looking to put these people out of business as well ,they absolutely horrible Human beings. I strongly advise them to the item back and bring it to the local police department. Unfortunately, AAA will have to share t he responsibility they are a AAA affiliate. read more

I was driving down 95 with my family to go to vacation in Savannah GA, when my engine shut down and left us stranded 4 1/2 hours from home. It was a scary mess. But I went on yelp and found the closest tow company and thank God I came across A-1 Towing. They helped us tremendously by getting a service vehicle to take us with the car and our luggage to the shop and checked out the issue which ultimately was due to an open campaign that Hyundai is covering. Klint was amazing, he drove his personal vehicle to take us to airport to get a rental and called and checked on us the next day. What I love about Yelp is it gives me the opportunity to highlight great businesses and why they're great. This is NOT one of those times. Yesterday my wife had a flat tire, after calling Allstate roadside assistance, A-1 Towing excepted the job to come and change the flat tire for her. This happened at 12:15 PM and I received a text with their estimated time of arrival of 1:30. An hour and 15 minutes is a long time to wait however it would still be faster than me driving two hours to get to her myself. So we went along with that. Well, 1:30 came and went, at 2 o'clock I called A-1 Towing asking them where are they, at this point my wife had been waiting on the side of the road for one hour and 45 minutes (30 minutes after when they said they'd be there). The response I got was the guy was going out on a tow and it took longer than expected, however he's in the area now and will be there "any minute". (OK I'm not sure why they excepted the job to change her tire, knowing a woman is sitting on the side of the road, if they had other tow jobs to do. But hey, water on the bridge because he's gonna be there any minute right?) Well he wasn't there "any minute", in fact I had to call again 45 minutes later. After being put on a hold a long time, I was now told "he had truck problems and he's on his way back to the shop, I'm going to send someone else out there". This is the point where I almost went through the roof, my wife is been waiting for 2 1/2 hours and nobody is even on their way yet! They have both my and my wife's cell phone number and I received no communication that no one is coming as my wife is sitting on the side of the road waiting for someone who isn't even coming! At this point I canceled it because I have no reason to believe anybody's ever going to come. Very very very bad customer service. They should never excepted the job in the first place and let someone else from a different shop take it and actually help her. The only thing I can chalk this up to is they are money hungry to except the job knowing they're leaving a woman strain on the side of the road for a ridiculous amount of time. Because of A-1 Towing wasting our time, it took over four hours before my wife was up and running again. Do not use this company!!!! I wish Yelp allowed for negative star reviews. read more

A-1 took care of my Ford F-150 after it overheated and I was stranded with 4 hours left in my journey back home from HHI. They were able to repair my vehicle same day and I was able to safely make it home that night. So thankful for this place as the situation could have been much worse. We broke down yesterday after having a tire blow out while driving our 17 year old's truck down to Florida from North Carolina. Casey our tow truck driver picked us up in an hour and we decided we should replace all 4 tires and spare as our tires were old and should of been replaced before we made the trip. This was all at 5 pm on a Sunday when all tire places were closed. Casey basically got the whole town to come in and replace the tires so we didn't have to spend the night. Greatest thing was the service and humbleness of all the guys helping and they didn't charge an arm and a leg, matter of fact we were extremely surprised how inexpensive the tow, and 5 tires replaced mounted and balanced. On the way back to Hilton Head after Irma evacuation, the Jeep's transmission temperature light came on. Excellent advice from the owner and a very nice technician. They suggested we could return safely with no service required (yet) and, best of all, gave us a terrific shortcut to avoid the bumper-to-bumper traffic on two-lane U.S. 17 as a result of traffic being diverted from I-95 because of flooding. read more

We were headed north on I-95 the day before Easter and had a tire blow out a mile before the Ridgeland exit. Our insurance company tried and failed to get in touch with a wrecker to help, so we did our own googling and found A-1 Towing. Within minutes the driver came and got our bad tire replaced with our spare. As he was finishing up, his supervisor arrived and we followed him to his shop to get our tire replaced. He graciously got us in just before the shop closed for the day and even told us about a shortcut to avoid the 95 backup. These guys are good people. read more
