We paid for a tow truck and he was ultimately turned away by Westin (the manager) because we hadn't paid a diagnostic fee (that we knew nothing about). I spoke with Westin and explained the situation. He told me I was wrong because Casey(the tech that I had been talking to noted that he told us about it). I reiterated that I hadn't been told about an almost $200 fee and he told me that every shop has them so I should've known. I explained that I don't know anything about cars and I have only had to deal with repair shops 1 other time ever so that isn't something I would've known. Either way, you have to disclose an almost $200 fee on the front end and/or have the customers sign something approving the charge. Westin told me I was out of luck until I paid it and I explained that if he held the truck hostage he was looking at legal action.. which he welcomed with open arms. I got off the phone with Westin and called the corporate office, I told them what happened and they were horrified. They told me that they do not condone the actions taken by this shop and told me that the regional manager would be contacting me to set this straight. Three days passed with no call from the regional manager and I called again. They told me that they could see that the message was received by the Regional manager so they weren't sure why he hadn't called. They assured me that I would get a call the next business day. 4 days after that, still no calls. I called again today and we've started the cycle over. Now we are out money for the tow truck that they turned away, and money for a rental car. Still no progress and they legitimately do not seem to take any accountability for their actions/inaction. This is my original review: am disgusted by the disrespect I just recieved from Autoworks Of Knoxville. I am not one to leave reviews however I feel this is necessary to put out because of how I was just treated. Today is July 11, 2025. I called this place on Wednesday because I needed my front brakes and rotors replaced my Husband and I were calling around a few places to get quotes. I spoke to the lady that answered she said let me get your number. I'll get you a quote sent over. 24 hours later, so Thursday she still had not gotten back to me so I called and said "hey I'm not sure if I miss something. Can you get that sent over because we really need to get our car in." She then asked for all of the information that I had previously given her the day before when we spoke (I also found out that my husband had called them on Tuesday of this week and he never got a response.) So I re-text her all the information they give me a quote. My husband and I are thinking on it. We called a few places to get quotes and everybody was right around the same price. $1,700-$1,800 These people could get us in the quickest so I started asking some questions about how long our car would be out because we have kids. It's our only driving vehicle and if we could bring our own parts to try to alleviate some of the cost. I was informed that they will not put parts on that are from somewhere else so we discussed it and seeing as though all the prices were about the same, we figured we would go with these people so I reached out again and I tried to ask them another question and my messages kept getting left on read ---she had her read receipts on----She was reading my messages, not answering. So three hours later, I try to follow up with my question again. She reads it and she still does not respond. From 9:30 am to 3 pm i messaged 4 times. It was not until my latest message calling them out that i got a reaponse. I Decided to call one more place (Fisher Tire) and this place was going to be less than $600 to do this job! So three more hours go by I find a cheaper place and I decide to reach out to these people and let them know. Hey, I'm not sure if you just don't want the business (because its now been 6 hours she' read the messages but she's not answering me) or what the problem is but I found somewhere that is only charging $580 so I'm a little off putt by the fact that your price was almost $1800. I feel that you guys are scamming people and I almost lost out on $1200 and I think that's so morally wrong. She then proceeds to get mad that I'm texting her personal number which I had no idea. I'm just responding to the number that texted me and she starts to get very angry and saying they already put me on the schedule for Wednesday even though Tuesday was the day they had available. And that I was gonna be bringing my own parts which she told me I wasn't allowed to do that and she's trying to say that I'm confusing her ---- she deleted these messages. I did not think she was going to delete them so I did not screenshot them in time. She then told me that I need to stop texting her because she's getting pissed off , yes she use those words "you're pissing me off" is what she said (she then unsent those messages within a couple minutes and I did not catch them in time) but you can see that there are three messages that she unsent because they were rude and aggressive towards me. She tells me to stop messaging her personal phone and block me. THEN SHE CALLS ME!!! And starts yelling at me on the phone. Of course she does this because i cant prove it. I tried to record the phone call but my phone was not doing it and it went so fast. I do not know why she feels It's OK to have this level of unprofessionalism and disrespect to a customer just because i called them out for almost stealing $1200 from us. I first made an inquiry on a Granturismo. I was told the car was available and proceeded to make an agreed upon deal for it. I had my credit checked and got approved for the agreed upon deal given. Everything was going smoothly and went as planned. As the days went on after approval, things started changing. Long story short, I was told my deal could not be made anymore out of the blue. I was essentially lied to. Their word and promises all changed last minute. This is a very sad, shady, deceptive, and poor way of doing business, and for those reasons, I advise you not to do any sort of business here because they'll 100% play games with you. This dealership does not truly stick to their word or promises and is not honest. I sent a few recent texts today in which I didn't receive any responses or correspondence from so that means I'm being ghosted, which is very rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional behavior. If you have a choice and especially from my recent experience here, do not do business with this dealership because it's not a good feeling what I went through and I'd hate for you to have to go through what I did too. Save yourself the pain and agony. How does someone not stick to their word is truly beyond me. I was not taken care of as I was promised I would be. It's unfortunate to know that in the end, this was the circumstance and what I deserved as a customer and client. No one cares at all to make any of the wrongdoing to me right.
