These egg tarts are huge! As big as my hand!

As I've continued my visits to other Asian markets, all around Central and Northern New Jersey locations, this one still is, in my humble opinion, a true Asian supermarket powerhouse. The sheer range and abundance of products is staggering. Everything from fresh produce to pantry essentials, frozen goods to specialty items, you'll find everything you need for an Asian cooking and more. They carry a wide variety of fresh produce, and all the Asian household staples you could think of and want. While the prices are not the cheapest, they are fair for the area. The shelves are stocked with a diverse selection of authentic ingredients from various Asian countries so whatever cuisine you're craving, you'll be most likely able to find it here. There is a humongous snack section, a well stocked liquor area, and like all of their locations, a food court and prepared meats section. The 99 Ranch Market is tidy and organized and every bit of space is thoughtfully used. You'll find pallets of discounted noodles, canned goods, and snacks all neatly displayed without feeling chaotic at the front of the store as you enter. The employees are helpful. While the checkout lines can be long on weekends, they move surprisingly fast. It only shows me that the cashiers are very efficient what they do. It's located at the Home Depot strip mall. Parking is ample on weekdays, but it can get a little crazy on the weekends.

Big Asian supermarket in Hackensack. Always love to go to the snack/chips section. Trying to get as many as possible since the tariffs going into effect. Spacious shopping area. Customer service at the front with discount items. Look like there's self check out kiosk but not functional. Long line to go through check out during weekend as always.

Was in the neighborhood, so I had to stop by! I've been here a couple of times throughout the years, and it never disappoints. I came a bit later than usual, so the bakery items were a bit lacking (they didn't have my coconut pineapple bun or the Mexican bun). I also picked up a couple of meal combos at the hot food bar. Today, I got two 3-item combos for $11.99 each, which is a great deal (you can also opt for the 1-item or 2-item combos): - you first choose either white rice, fried rice, lo mein or rice noodles - you then choose 3 of the numerous dishes that they offer (again, I came a bit later then usual, so the options were limited, but still good)

We stopped by 99 Ranch to get our weekly groceries and to get a full pecking duck for Thanksgiving dinner event. Lots of duck and other poultry were cooked and hing by the hot food section. Lots of people were in line, took us about 15 minutes to get the duck. Rest of the store was tidy and organized. They had good collection of vegetables, fruits, noodles. rice and snacks. There was not much wait time at checkout line, it was quick and easy. Got the points using their membership card.

I was craving Jian Bing today. Yum

99 Ranch market is he welcome to save to Hackensack, NJ. Not only are they a terrific market, but their food court is filled with delicious options from across Asia. Within the market, you will find a handful of kiosks that provide you many items ranging from dumplings, to pork buns (Bao), to Chinese American staples like chicken and broccoli, to more exotic options like Jian Bing. One of my favorite things to visit is their roast meat section, where I really enjoy their honey and garlic pork. Yum. If you're looking for a fine dining experience, you're not gonna get that there because you're literally in a supermarket. But the place is clean and the staff is always nice and helpful. In fact, it's a good way for me to practice my Chinese; and many of the people working there are good sports about it.

99 Ranch Market was founded in 1984 by Roger Chen, a Taiwanese immigrant. It is one of the largest Asian supermarket chains in the United States with over 60 stores in 11 states! This supermarket was the perfect addition to the Hackensack Commons. RIP Pathmark. It's spacious, organized, and not too overly crowded. They have express self-checkout lanes in addition to regular registers. They carry a lot of Asian specialty foods and snacks (mainly Taiwanese and Chinese) along with meat, seafood, produce, liquor, and baked goods. They have a small food court with a few eateries. I've never eaten here before, so I can't speak on that. There's literally everything here related to most Asian cuisines. The parking lot is huge, but it's shared with a lot of businesses and can get crazy during rush hours and the weekend. Keep your cool... :-)

One of the better Chinese/Asian markets in the area. I use to frequent this location for our grocery runs when it first opened but we opt for deliver more often now. It's located behind Riverside mall in a strip shopping plaza with Staples, Home Deport and a few others. There's ample parking but can get pretty crowded during on the weekends. They have lots of fresh produce and many asian household staples. Their prices are not the cheapest but I find it usually more acceptable than not. Their food court use to be a lot better pre pandemic but now it's mostly a ghost town. Hardly ever see more than a handful of people there now. The Coco boba shop near the entrance has closed and been replace with YO Dessert which specialize in yogurt drinks. The checkout lines can get pretty long as they only have a few registers. They do have self checkout stations but I'm not sure why they are frequently closed. Remember to use their loyal program (free to sign up) to earn credit for purchases.

This place is good variety of ramens, noodles, seasonal mooncakes and asian sauces, pre made frozen asian comfort foods. But wont recommended the hot food bar and baked goods section. The breads and cakes are often stale.

I like to call 99 Ranch the Trader Joe's or Whole Foods of Asian super markets. For those new to 99 Ranch, they have just about EVERYTHING you need when it comes to Asian groceries. When I first visited one in Texas, it opened my eyes to a brand new Asian grocery shopping experience that I had never seen before and this location fits that bill for newbies. You name it, they have it - Asian vegetables / canned foods / sauces / frozen foods / fresh meat / dried goods / snacks. In addition, this location, like others, serve hot foods (in a small area to the left) and Asian bakery items. And, best of all, it's all super neatly organized and spacious! Not an item out of place or an aisle you have to carefully navigate. That's my kind of shopping experience! --- where I don't have to rummage through shelves for the one last product or dodge spilled groceries. Of course, not all locations are built equally, and I can see how some reviewers had gripes about unfriendly staffing or a staffing shortage, but I tend to attribute that to just luck of the draw. Some days you'll run into happier staff, while others some people are just plain ol' grumpy. Also, it's great that they do serve cooked foods (e.g. roast pig, roast pork, marinated chicken), but the area is a bit on the small side. As for parking - plenty of it. This location is part of a strip mall so there is parking as far as the eye can see. And, on Sundays, the area is much quieter due to the Blue Laws in Bergen County. This might not be the best 99 Ranch more experienced 99 Ranch-goers have been to (like in CA or TX), but it more than fits the bill for all of your Asian grocery shopping needs. I LOVE NYC, but I've done much Asian grocery shopping in Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan and the experience here is A LOT more pleasant and peaceful than the ones I used to experience in NY.

I love trying new foods. Tasting different cultures through markets. Lots to try at 99 Ranch market. The selection of Kit Kats alone is mind blowingly varied. From pistachio to salt and lemon. Strange, but oddly tempting. I came in for eggs & sugar to make cookies, but ended up getting a small box from the hot deli in front. I love eggplant so I tried that and it was good. She filled the box above the rim with other bites of pork and greens and chicken so I got to try almost the whole buffet in a small box for$ 5.99. Customer Service is definitely friendly & generous. It needed some soy sauce, and I wouldn't get the orange/pink pork chunks again because they were grizzly, but everything else was tender & delicious. There is seating in front of the counter that is well lit and clean. Plenty of utensils and condiments. After my snack, I got the necessities and wandered around to see what else I could find. I love Boba milk tea, but it can run up to eight dollars in a shop. So I found some tapioca pearls and decided I'm going to try my hand at making my own brown sugar Boba with tapioca pearls at home. One of the staff members was nice enough to give me her opinion on the wide selection of flavors and sizes. I went with her choice. Pretty cheap too. Only $1.89. Grabbed a fluorescent green Pandan cupcake on the way out, too. Tasted like sponge cake with a twist. I liked it! I went in for two items, came out with six and had a tasty meal. A good time was had!

Big Asian supermarket behind the Home Depot. They scan your temperature as you enter, have bleach and wipes for you, and require masks. Shields around registers, the Coco Tea and the meat counter. Single line for registers. There's a lot of half empty shelves showing how the supply chain is a bit broken down. Fruit and produce is limited to seasonal, which is normal, quality is not super great depending on the items but may be due to low turnover. Prices are higher that pre covid, too, the Berkshire Pork was $14.99/lb, before was $10/lb, so definitely prices higher on some items. Still some deals are available and some of the things I wanted were not there, so that impacts the score. Need to improve stocks before I update reviews again.

The old salesman who prepared meat at deli dept was rude and unprofessional, it seems that customers are not welcomed at this store.

Ask the Community - 99 Ranch Market

What's the long line at Gourmet Fresh for? The chicken or duck?

Roast pork and duck, price and portion sizes are good but the guy who does the chopping must wear mask because I see him chewing and talking at times and can contaminate the food by him.

    Large cosmetics selection? Saki?

Decent sized cosmetics section, and nice broad selection of sake that easily rivals Mitsuwa's, I must say.
