99 Ranch is the best place to buy fish. The prices and freshness are way beyond other supermarkets. My personal favorite is they're mid cut salmon for only 8.99. One of the most interesting perks of this market is for every 20 dollars you spend you get a dollar coupon for the food court. The food court is amazing, they have half a dozen or more mini food establishments within the building. Everything from dim sum to bubble tea. Finally opened at the end of June. Nice variety of food court options including roast meat, dim sum, and noodle soups and congees. Fish department has a good variety including live tanks. Besides steaming lobster and crab, they will fry fish at no extra charge to eat in the food court or take home. I've tried it several times and recommend it. Lovely bakery with beautiful cakes on display. There's a big variety of produce but prices are cheaper at the Shop Rite for the same items. The grocery department has a broad selection and decent prices. Lots of specials, too. All in all, 99 Ranch fills the gap for a comprehensive Asian market with a Chinese focus and good ready-to-eat food. read more

Ranch 99 is a great addition to the area, there isn't another decent market close by that carries Chinese spices, sauces etc. There's one in Riveredge, but it's kind of a dump. The groceries, vegetables here are great, what I picked was fresh and fairly priced. The 3 stars is for the food court area. The dim sum station in particular. It's terrible. I don't think I've had worse dim sum before. This was during prime time too, 11:00, I figured it would be fresh. The pork dumplings were hard and chewy, the buns weren't any better. It's a huge place for asian groceries. Bright and clean. They have almost every asian things. I am very pleased with their wide range products. The downside for me is almost the food court stall had pork on the menu, which I can't eat. I love their seafood and produce, so many. read more

Was here for the first time today and accidentally ran into it. It's next to Paris Baguette, which is a Korean coffee/pastry shop chain. It's humongous with high ceilings with a food court (about 5 food outlets). The prices were surprisingly high for a food court. (Didn't try any). But the grocery and especially the fresh produce section was excellent. Bought everything we needed. Slightly cheaper than Korean produce stands at Hmart and Han Nam. Will come here again as the place is well-stocked and closer than the Korean supermarkets in Fort Lee. read more

So happy that 99 Ranch came to North Jersey. There are only a few spots to get this type of Chinese food in North Jersey but they are all spread out in areas like Parsippany or Fort Lee. I have tried the "dim sum" options at the food court like the pork buns, sweet rice wrapped in lotus leaf, and other chinatown or cantonese classics. All pretty solid for a food court IMO. I do have to say that I wasn't a fan of the Beef Noodle Soup in that specific area. It wasn't Taiwanese style, which is what I was looking for at the time. However, I did find it the next time I came here near the entrance. This time I made SURE and asked the elder Chinese guy behind the counter if it was Taiwanese style and he says in Mandarin, it's "BEIJING" Beef Noodle Soup. Yikes, excuse me, guy. He also proceeds to say that Taiwan IS China just to make a point. I wasn't really looking to get into politics at that moment but I guess Mr. One China felt compelled to let me know. No, sir ... Taiwan is NOT China but at the end of the day, I just wanted my damn soup. So, I finally get my soup and it's pretty good. Flavorful, plenty of noodles, and spicy. There are a few items like picked cabbage etc, that I guess could make it more "Taiwanese," but overall I'd have to give it a 7.5 out of 10. It's been 4 months since the start of Covid-19 pandemic lockdown, most of the local supermarkets like Shoprite, Stop N Shop, Home Depot, Lowe's,.... are more or less back to normal as far as traffic flow is concerned. You hardly see human queues at the entrances for crowd control issue. I attempted to shop here yesterday (Sunday) morning; DAMNED! To my surprise, there was a long queue all the way to the end corner of the store; what's the matter? The parking area was barely half full. Why didn't they relax the rule and let more shoppers to get in? It was a hot day, 90F outside. In the past month, I'd shopped at Asian groceries like H Mart, and Asian Market in Essex County, I didn't have to wait to get in. I don't think I will want to go back to 99 Ranch again, as the shelves are not that well stocked, and the staff is generally not that courteous. It's just too bad that most of the large Chinese/ Asian markets are 30 miles south. I'll try my best to get by, getting most of my needs from H Mart. read more

Love, love, love this supermarket! I went their California store every time I was in west coast. When they opened in Edison location, I started to go every other week. Finally they opened in Bergen County. I have to give a thumbs up to their fish market employees, they were so nice and helpful. The fish are fresh, and they clean and fry for you for free and refuse to take a tip( the management should consider to change that policy, they should be rewarded for the outstanding job they are doing on daily bases.) They have large selection of all kind of fresh fruit and vegetables. read more

Holy moly!?! I occasionally go to Bloomies and Home Depot and it never registered in my mind the sign 99 Ranch is an asian supermarket. We were on our way to bloomies to pick up something and my wife had like a panic revelation attack and I was like what!? you saw a honey badger or something? She got so excited when she saw that sign and we had to make a stop. It was our first time at this location (weve been to the one in New Brunswick or maybe edison?) Anyhoo it was fabulous. Sure beats driving to NYC. We will go again next weekend and we like to swing my Hmart in paramus too afterwards. This place is huge! I am not sure if I will go back to Hmart any more as this 99 Ranch Market has everything I needed for Asian cooking and more. Really like the variety of products as well as the food court. You will get $1 for each $20 you spent... but double if you reach certain threshold (don't remember the amount). Not a super market where you can get premium products like HMart and Mitsuwa. Don't get seafood from their fish market. I got cod fillet last week and it spoiled. As soon as I opened the plastic bag, the foul smell rushed into my nose. Can't believe they sell bad seafood. Don't get foods from their deli neither. I brought some roasted pork because I have $2 coupon from my shopping. The roasted pork is the worst I've tried. It's rubbish. I wouldn't eat it even it's free. Pork is very lean, zero fat. Meat is not marinated long enough. The pork is smelly. I suspect they used unfresh meat. All foods in deli and bakery are overpriced because there are coupons from shopping. Veggie, frozen meat and other dried products are OK. Some are bargain when they are on sale. read more

A good asian market for our area in Bergen County. It rivals the new Hmart that also recently opened across the Garden State Mall. 99 Ranch has Filipino section in it's grocery versus Hmart which doesnt not. I also prefer the food vendors at 99 Ranch since they're prices seems to be much cheaper than Hmart. All in all both markets are good places to visit but I do prefer 99 Ranch for the above reasons. Best time to go is during the weekdays. My first visit was on a Sunday afternoon where the market was packed and it was nearly impossible to find a table to sit down to eat. read more

I used to live in the West Coast where is the root of the 99 Ranch Markets. The layout of all the stores are almost identical. I recently visited the one in Hackensack where is out of my way. You can find something cheaper but other thing more expansive than other Asian markets. The produce can be fresher. Anyway, the store was well stocked. Shop floor was clean and well organized during my visit. The only thing I was disappointed was the food court. Many stalls were closed. I will shop there again if I am in the neighborhood. read more

Quite a good collection of Asian food, grocery as well as cutlery. They also have a food court option and have coupons when you bill your groceries to use at the Food court or the bakery section. Loved it. The fish and sea food section is just too good. They will steam the crabs and lobsters and fry the fish that you so wish to. This service is free. The only thing that doesn't let me give it a 5 star is the pricing of the stuff. Not a very cheap or cost effective store. You get a lot of stuff here but this is certainly not cheaper than Walmart or Target. Yes if you are looking for Asian specific food and grocery then this is the place to be. read more

The produce here is not fresh. My mom bought tofu that was expired, and when she went back to exchange it the next day, they said the price changed so she would have to pay an additional $0.40 to exchange. Um, you're selling expired food and you want us to pay more to fix your mistake? The staff and customer service workers are rude and pushy. There was even a plum wine from the same brand at half the price due to alternate packaging. I love the food court options and the friendly atmosphere. I'm beyond happy that this supermarket finally opened near my house! Originally I went to the 99 ranch in California and loved the prices, selection and good quality. This newly opened 99 ranch is just awesome! There is a big parking lot in front with tons of spaces and a pot hole free parking lot (haha). Once you go in you are immediately surrounded by snacks on sale or with appealing prices placed in front of you. To your left there is a food court with a selection of restaurants. My favorite is the Penang Express and the best dish there is W1 which is char kwoy teo (stir fried charred wok noodles with Chinese sausage, squid, shrimp and calamari). If you go to the right there is a skincare store and gift shop. Past that is the grocery section. It contains tons of fresh fruit and vegetables. My favorites to purchase are gailan or Chinese broccoli, you-choy sum, golden kiwis, lychees, and longan. The aisles of the supermarket are organized perfectly so everything is easy to find with appealing prices. It is my one stop shop for all things chinese! read more

the bubble tea store is cocofresh a chain however its the worst chain ive been to. nyc cocofresh is much better. with that being said its a top bubbletea choice in nj cuz nj is way behind in the bubble tea race for quality nd yumminess. the market itself is large and clean for now lol chinese grocery stores tend to get dirty rather quickly and i hope this place stays the same. they give u coupons for spending x amount to use towards their food court. thw bakery is ok not the best. the dim sum is good not the best. the duck is expensive. the food options i think could be better and taste better. will return for sure just wish it was better. read more

Okay, first of all, this Market is phenomenal! But my most favorite section ever is the skincare section. Annie is who always helps me out, sweetest girl. The first time I went there was over a year ago and since then my skin has never looked better!!! Annie knows exactly what she is talking about and is so educated on the products she refers to each person's different skin types! My sister suffers from acne-prone skin and I brought her in last night for the first time. Annie greeted us and remembered me right away and the last time I was there was before Christmas time! She helped my sister out and gave us free samples to also try which was so very nice of her. I recommend anyone who needs a good skincare line to go see Annie. She is amazing at her job!! I am too very happy there is now a full size Chinese/Asian super market near by, but was disappointed with the food court. The service was exceptionally slow. Waited over 20 minutes plus for a wonton noodle soup. The line for the roasted meats was not any better. Was also very disappointed they did not honor bakery coupons from another 99 Ranch store? Are they a national chain or not? Shopped around for grocery deals and there was nothing to write home about. Shelves were very much stocked, but prices seems to be above average. For now, I can't say yet that I no longer need to visit Flushing. read more

Super happy this opened close to where I live. Huge selection of things not found in Hmart, an excellent fresh produce section, everything clean. They give your coupons for your purchase that you can use in the hot food section. If you buy a lot you can get a whole roast duck for free (and it's delicious!). read more

This is the best Chinese Grocery store (and I have to add non-korean which I love too) outside of inside the city Im aware of. Its not modern looking so thats why I take away the start but they have so much good chinese grocery and fast food with a place to eat too. What I dont understand is, there is no way to know this is an asian grocery store from the road and the store is hiding in the back which doesnt really show either. I feel like they are screwing up their marketing opportunity to attract customers as if I was never accidentally told by someone else who was accidentally dont I never would have known even if I drove by millions of times. Ever since this supermarket opened I go there regularly. Recent incidents I decide not go anymore. I looked BBB and it is a F rating company. A couple months ago I bought quite some of salmons because it was on sale. When I finished paying the cashier I realized the amount was quite big I read the receipt they charged $ 6.99 instead of sale price $ 4.99. About one month ago I bought a bag of rice which lasted about a few weeks I found there were bugs in it. This is very first time out of forty years I had rice with bugs. I would imagine how long and what storage condition they kept. Also not long ago I bought grocery on the way out I was looking at their moon cake section ( the store arrangement was that next to cashier counter ) I just want to find which one I would buy on the weekend. When I was going out the customer services woman looked my bags very hard at least 30 seconds. I don't have a crazy look or any erratic behavior. I really feel offended. It is very important for a supermarket to practice business with honesty and respect. There is no other way to be successful without them. It is my opinion they failed me. read more

Unlike other Ranch 99 Markets I went to, you have a decent number of English speaking staff. A big variety of food, well laid out. The hot food market is a bit overpriced for take-out type food, but it's good quality and clean. The fresh vegetables are a bit more hit and miss; they're decent quality, but they can be a bit overpriced. Not their fault, but a number of the smaller East Asian markets in the area have shut their doors, apparently just at the indication of competition. This is a bit of a shame, because there are a few items I used to buy regularly at the small places that they just don't have here, in spite of the otherwise good selection. read more
