This was once a nice place to live, but has fallen into disrepair and the management will retaliate if you complain. They call it a luxury apartment building, but you have to hang your clothes to dry as if this were 19th- century tenement housing because the dryers just don't dry (I hear it's worse in the 1bdr units that have an all-in-one washer and dryer). The pool deck is warped with exposed rusty screws. The package room is always a mess and management does not investigate missing packages (except for one old white lady who gets preferential treatment and her own designated shelf). Rules are arbitrarily enforced with exceptions made for some tenants that negatively affect the quality of life for most residents. There is insufficient ADA parking and no enforcement of violations which leave actual disabled residents with no access to ADA parking. The windows leak and cracked walls have been a constant issue since Hurricane Ida, but instead of repairing the damage they provide us with sawdust filled bolsters to absorb the water during heavy rains and they completely ignore the growing cracks in the walls and ceiling. Anyone competent and friendly hired to work the front desk doesn't last long and I assume that's due to the toxicity of management. Avoid all properties managed by BGPM. read more

Yet another review for an apartment (condo, loft, whatever) building that I totally don't live in, but would really like to! Haven't had a chance to see any of the apartments themselves, but I did get to check out the inside of 930 Poydras (it's that new black building on Poydras that looks like the death star, which is kind of badass) and it made me want to look into pricing, availability and pet policies there. The common area is this amazing space that reminds me of a college dorm or library shared space, but one that's really expensive and grownup and, well, awesome. If I lived in this building, I would get SO much work done down in the common area. There are couches, tables, wi-fi (password protected, of course), and it's an ideal environment for productivity. Even better than places that are specifically designed for coworking, such as Launch Pad. This space is way cooler and much more zen (i.e. productivity-oriented) than Launch Pad. Le sigh. I heart this building. When I grow up, I want to live here. read more

I had an issue with the washer/dryer combo, as it created more problems than the manufacturer probably expected. However, after I expressed my concerns to the "Management Staff" of 930 Poydras, they immediately began to work on a solution. Their solution will now save me at a minimum of $200/month on dry cleaning costs. I want to express my appreciation to the staff of 930 Poydras for them taking my concerns seriously and immediately resolving them. I have been living here about two months, and now that I have heard the inside scoop on other places I had considered; I am confident that I have made the right choice. I have to say that this is the best place to rent an apartment in the city if you are looking for a nice place that is accessible to everything and has very low crime. I did a ton of research before I moved here and the one other place I even considered turned out to have a huge problem with leaks (not going to say the name since I have nothing to gain here). A couple of surprises since I have moved here. It is very quiet. I don't ever hear anything in my apartment at all, which is really nice. Surprise number two, the washer/dryers are not awesome, but they are not that bad. After reading reviews I was prepared for the worst, but I have been pleasantly surprised. Loads are about the third of the size of a normal washer so you have to do laundry more often and it does take very long to wash and dry (about 8 hours). But I knew this going in. What I have not experienced is the wrinkled clothes and the clothes never drying, which was my biggest fear. Finally the biggest and best surprise; the view from some of these apartments are amazing (picture attached). The saltwater pool with the grills is really nice, 24-7 security, tons of garaged parking and the building is built like Fort Knox so I don't worry about hurricanes at all. Most of the people that live here are working professionals (and overall great people) and everyone goes through a background check before moving in (FYI for you murderers out there, sorry this isn't your place). read more

Now for a review from someone who lives here and who has lived in 5 states, 3 corporate housing situations, multiple homes, apartments, condos etc. My take, avoid the headache and hype attached to this place: Facts: 1. The washer dryer included in each unit is terrible. Normal cycle times are 3-4 hours and they leave clothing smelling sour. The fact that the washer dryer is not functional would be a slight ding at most places as they are replaceable. However, given the developers oversight during development you are unable to swap them out due to lack of appropriate connections and space. They will tell you it is energy efficient, don't believe the bs, it was an epic bad decision by the developer. 2. There is almost constant construction noise between the apartments (Paramount) being built west of the building and excessive street work taking place on Poydras. During the day, no problem, at night from 12-4 am every single night, Big problem. 3. Covered off street parking sounds glamorous in this city (though not in most) but go ahead and plan to spend an extra $75-$120 per month for a reserved spot because otherwise you will be susceptible to consistent dings and potentially crawling across your center console to gain vehicle access. This is yet another bad decision by the developer . Efforts should have been made to measure for appropriate entry exit space for vehicles driven by Americans, seems like common sense but it's not. Other pro con considerations: Pros: Very near SuperDome, Rouses closeby, walk or bike anywhere in CBD, Warehouse district, or most of Quarter. On site dry cleaning delivery, pool, central shared space, small gym, secure, average to slightly lower rent cost. Cons: cell phone coverage is poor due to concrete structure, shared space is like a college study hall (not in a good way), building design around pool considerably limits hours you can get sun. View from the pool deck is poor, if you are not going to the Saints game or event at the arena commuting through the caous is not glamorous, gym space is small and smelly, unit design is bland and cold with very thin walls (conversations from neighbors are easily heard). So overall, if you are renting your first place after college this may be a good spot for you. If however, you are accustomed to higher end amenities (no stainless and granite to be found here), more of a home like feel, and need a quiet place with a functional washer and dryer you may be best served spending a bit more and going down towards the warehouse district to find more options etc. Hint , that is what I am doing and I'm honestly counting the days til my experience here is over. read more

Do I live here? No, but I wish! Jess pretty much summed it up with her review, but I'll add to it. I've been here a few times to visit friends of friends and the place is really cool. They have nice condos (a one bedroom runs about $1500/month) as well as a common area. The common area has tons of seats and sofas and a HUGE projection screen where you can watch Saints games, or pretty much anything. It's a real community there. The residents are mainly made up of young business professionals and everyone seems to know each other and hang out. It reminds me of Melrose Place. There is a picnic/deck/pool area where you can grill with friends and then catch up on your tan after a long week. The best part is, 930 Poydras is in one of the best spots in the city, especially if you are a Saints fan. It's located right across the street from Walk Ons and Happy's, so you can go watch the game there if you need a change of scenery. It's also right next door to fancy pants restaurant Ste. Marie and on the other side there is a Jamba Juice (I had no idea New Orleans had one, either). Rouses is pretty close for groceries. 930 Poydras is one of the places I'll probably live when I'm super rich. ;) read more

I'm very content living here. The location is super ideal for walking and biking everywhere. My car often sits in the garage for weeks. New grocery store 2 blocks away is awesome. The lobby and common areas in the building are comfortable and always maintained clean. There's a cleaning staff on full time that is constantly vacuuming/moping the lobby, cleaning pool area, etc. Yes, prices are upwards of $1200 - $1500 for a one bedroom, but It's well worth it for me. Units tend to be small.. average 700 sq ft, but there are larger units in the bldg. For urban living, that amount of space works for me. Floors & Ceilings are all concrete, but I rarely hear neighbors or outside traffic. I totally recommend living here to anyone. In regards to the negative comments, everything the other reviewer said is so accurate. The combo Washer/Dryer suck big time. I put my bed sheets to wash at 9am and it wasn't dry and ready until 4pm. They came out in a ball of wrinkles that had to be ironed. Lack of garbage disposal is no bueno. I'm surprised the city code allowed no vent hood above the stove, lack of kitchen cabinet space is soon to be resolved as the building is installing upper cabinets this month. My bathroom feels like a hospital bathroom with simply a sink, toilet, and a tub. No medicine cabinet, no vanity, no storage period, not even for my toothbrush. So prepare to buy a storage cabinet. A few recommendations.. background chill music in the sky lobby and pool area would complete the ambiance. Just some tunes on low volume would be nice. So I've lived here for almost a year and just resigned my lease(and will sign again once my next one is up.) This place is nothing short of amazing. The location is perfect(3 blocks from the superdome). You won't hit the traffic between Poydras and Canal that most places in the cbd have to go through. The structure is built like a fortress, concrete ceilings and floors and because of this I NEVER hear my neighbors which is awesome. I feel extremely safe living here because of both the way its built and the 24/7 armed security that is present. One of the things that I really like is how the engineers designed the building so that you can easily meet your fellow tenants. Everyone has to go to 9 through the lobby and then take the second set of elevators up from 10-21. Its also a very modern building(lots of straight lines, everything is white/gray/black) so if that isn't your style this might not be the place for you. The pool area is absolutely perfect for having summer parties or just laying out on a nice sunny day. I feel like half of the tenants here have dogs as well which is great if you're a dog lover. Surprisingly though you NEVER see pet hair or the smell of dogs throughout the building. The maintenance staff does an excellent job of keeping the place spotless/ smelling great. The only thing that I do not like about living here is the washer/dryer combo. It really does suck and makes doing laundry a real pain in the ass. I have a bunch of friends in the building though who have been getting new washer/dryer's(I haven't gotten one yet) and according to them its a great improvement, so there is hope on this issue! I always just start mine though before work and when I get home its done. Honestly, its very easy to overlook that one flaw for how great everything else is in the building. I tell all my friends that I feel like I live in a luxury hotel. The place is so posh(fresh coffee for the taking in the lobby every morning.) If you're looking for a luxury complex to live in this is the place to be imo. It just has everything you could need or want. read more

I've lived here for about 9 months now and can truly say this is a great place to live. Being located right in the CBD with a fantastic new grocery store (Rouses) only two blocks away and a 5-10 minute walk to the French Quarter you will have all the city has to offer at your fingertips. The staff is super friendly and there are a few parties a year set up to meet your neighbors. Many of the residents have dogs, so if you are a dog owner or lover you will be in heaven, however if you don't like dogs this probably isn't the best place for you. Now let's get to the reason why I just couldn't bring myself to give this place 5 stars. The first and foremost is the energy efficient washer/dryer combo machines. These things are the most worthless pieces of garbage and should be scrapped. Not only does it take 4 hours (I'm not kidding) to do one small load, everything comes out wrinkled EVERYTIME! It's so bad that a dry cleaning company makes regular stops twice a week to pick up/drop off items because everything gets sent out due to the fact that nobody will use the washer/dryer for anything but underwear and socks. Unless you want to spend time ironing every item that you wash, or if you don't care about wearing wrinkled clothes, you will have to pay to have your stuff dry cleaned, and that isn't right. Also you can't clean the lint trap yourself, unless you know how to take apart an entire washer/dryer, you have to put in a request which generally takes a week or two to get fulfilled. In the meantime you will have to deal with not only wrinkled clothing, but covered in wet lint. While being on the topic of energy efficient appliances, they are also another gripe I have. I have to crank the refrigerator all the way up just to keep my milk from going bad in 3 days. I appreciate the intent to save energy but this is the south, it's going to take some energy to keep things cold. The windows leak when it rains hard and we have to put down towels to keep the place dry. The maintenance people have been by twice to fix it, but it still leaks. Also you can not even open the windows, except for a little tiny part at the bottom. Also there is no garbage disposal in the sink which is really frustrating. Maybe if you don't cook much it's not a big deal to you, but it drives me nuts. If you can look past a lot of these small things the fact remains that this is a great place to live. However, at the rental rates they are charging you'd think they would either be better about fixing these things or more apologetic but they seem to stand by their poor decisions about the appliances. It's for these reasons I won't be renewing my lease in a few months, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't recommend this place. You just need to know what you're getting into. read more

I've been living here for a little while and feel compelled to share my fantastic experience with y'all. The staff and management at 930 Poydras have been exceptionally helpful both before and after my move-in. Prior to moving here, I lived in uptown New Orleans in a small house. I thought I would find the move downtown difficult, but Kelly Labure and her team made my transition into the building easy and stress-free with their wonderful communication, assistance and friendliness. The residents that I have met are friendly and thoughtful. People seem very happy here. Noise both from within the building and street is nonexistent. The views are magnificent and the location is prime! I highly recommend this building to everyone read more

Beware! I lived at 930 Poydras for a couple of years - during medical school. Since I had to spend many hours in the hospital, it was tolerable. As Lee J already noted, the combo washer/dryer is a joke. However, if it were the only issue we had to deal with, it could be overlooked. However, the main problem with the 930 Poydras "luxury" apartment building is non-stop flooding and leaks. My neighbors and I encountered non-stop flooding and leaks - from within our apartments, surrounding apartments on each side of us, from across the hallway and from floors above. Believe, me it was a nightmare! As soon as I finished medical school, my wife and I got the hell out of there. However, we have friends who still live there and they tell us that nothing has changed. The washer/dryer combos in the units are complete pieces of crap....They ruin clothes, make them smell weird, and flood the apartments. The two bedroom layouts are a joke. The "master" bedroom is incredibly small and the 2nd room is more like an office or walk in closet. Extremely overpriced and far from "luxury." read more

Nice building. Great location. Most of the staff are nice with the exception of the condescending and rude property manager.

This is a nice place, but the hype is overrated for the price. Lived here with a roommate for 2 years and the first month after settling in was fine. Nice access to the Magazine, Downtown, work, great restaurants, etc. Now, here comes the drama. After about a month and a half into the lease the management started to catch this nasty attitude when I asked about a leaky faucet in the bathroom that had dripped so much it was rotting the wooden cabinet. It took them 3 weeks to actually get someone to fix the issue and it took them 4 different times to actually fix the leak. After that ordeal, we had maintenance guys looking at us strange because we alerted them to a leaking faucet that they didn't fix for 3 weeks??? C'mon man, that's there job! The prices people pay here should also reflect the service, but it doesn't. I wouldn't recommend this place as being the best for the price...that's for sure. read more
